Dragon Ball FighterZ Discussion Thread (Game)

God Confirm

We're all from Earthrealm. If not, cool pic brah.
Surprisingly havent gotten alot of hatemail with this game... but i had to mention this one. I sat there looking at my screen with my palms up for like 3 minutes in complete disbelief.

Guys team was gohan cell goku black. He held up and back and then did SD to react to everything. Every single time he had the meter, he did bram assist, vanish, block string. Every time i hit him, he mashed SD. To the point where i was dropping combos on purpose just to punish him for doing it.

When the match ended... he sent me a message that said "flowchart player.. brain off."

I dont know if he was talking about himself or not. So confused.
lol i think it was a compliment

he knows only one move so you having a whole flowchart of plays blew his mind

Day 3 thoughts on Broly?

I literally can’t see any reason not to use SS Vegeta. He converts everything, inc lvl1 dhc, into full combo.

Character 3 needs something quicker than beam I think, so if you need a beam for whatever reason Vegetas gotta go. Assist 2 should be quick enough to pick up after full screen 236M, allowing assist 1 for opening pressure and/or extension.

Not sure I can go with my initial “add him to my roster” approach. Broly needs a team specifically built to support the way you want to play him.

When's DragonBall?
This one took some work! These are my solo combos so far with Broly and I made sure that all of them except the TOD at the end used only 1-2 bars. The button notations are included as always, no assists to leave room for experiments with your own personal teams and the Super Meter on all of these(except for the Lvl.7 example at the end) is set at 1 to show the meter gain/usage. Hope this helps anyone who's been looking for more combos with notations, etc for the Legendary Super Saiyan. He definitely takes some getting used to and plays different from most other characters in the game as most of us know by now but he's dangerous

@A.Gohan players - Need some advice.

When applying EX Legs pressure in the corner, what's the story behind EX Legs jLL jc jL mixups? When I jump cancel out of jLL I gain too much momentum and fly over them after the third jL hits making it hard to convert, and leaves me begging to be 2H'd.

Am I supposed to iAD out of that jump cancel? Because can't seem to find the right rhythm to it if so. Always just get jump cancel. Not a mixup to use often because it leaves a gap for invincible moves or reflect, but I'd still like to implement it as it catches a LOT of people when used sparingly.

Dont play gohan so i could be wrong, but i thought you were supposed to land and then either low or iad? I think that would leave a little gap too though, but it would still be pretty hard to react to the low not coming? I mean, people could mash 2H and it would hit the OH, but lows would beat it.

Yeah you can. The usual mixup is EX legs jLL/5L, jL/5L, or just empty drop into 5L. But I've seen G01/Nakkiel (and killing me that I can't find these videos I saw it in so I can study it lol) and others use the ex legs jLL jc jL for triple overhead into full combo.

I just can't seem to figure out how they're keeping that third jL low enough to convert into a full combo. If it's because they're iADing out of that jc, then I just can't find the right timing to that.

Iad would definitely keep that last j.l lower, so thats probably what they're doing. Honestly, if you didnt jump cancel already though, you shouldnt need to iad after the second j.l... you should be able to just cancel that into an air dash. Try just dashing forward, kinda like cell ending combos with 214L into air dash.

Unrelated... i complained alot about beam assist vanish blockstring. Turns out if you know follow up lights are coming, backdash 2M or backdash 5H wiff punishes everyone who doesnt advance forward and catch you with lights

I'm still not great at this game as I don't have a lot of time to play it but I do love it. So advice is needed fellas/gals....What's the gameplan with Bardok? He seems fun and fluid to play and I can tell his supers and specials have good utility but I just am not that well versed in the meta of the game at this point to understand what I'm supposed to be doing with him.

Armor through everything, keep ur opponent in the corner. He needs assists, so I keep him on point

That’s Broly not Bardock.

Bardock’s just gotta get in. This video breaks it down pretty well:

Vanish plus assist counter tech. Works about the same as regular beam vanish. Neither vid shows punishes, but it DOES punish people for trying to do a blockstring afterwards. It will make people think twice about pressing buttons after beam vanish or assist vanish. At the very least, you should be able to initiate your own pressure if someone does assist vanish.

Reflect on reaction. Reflect when you see the assist animation. If they press buttons you punish.

If you dont react and need to block. Backdash 2M.
