I’ve been obsessed with maximising corner combos with saibaman/divebomb for days, and have developed these (all require Vegeta assist)

I think there’s more optimising to be done, but I’m moving onto other things for now. Never did manage to get the second saibaman grab to land , not sure but there may be a restriction as there were times during testing when it looked like it should’ve.

You can get a little more with another assist, but on good advice I’ve left it out for use on opening/oki.

Discovered in isolation, apologies if it’s known stuff.

Think notation is accurate, but let me know if anything’s not working.

One thing I might have a quick play with is converting off lvl3 using saiba. Had a quick go already and failed but it looked kinda possible.

Weirds, just running the first combo a couple of times and it got more (6529)

Guessing there’s an extra saiba hit or something, but can’t be bothered to break it down right now.

Just for giggles, tested the lvl3 super version with lvl2 spark (possible, but rare, and contrary to my general gameplan). Dmg ranges from 8278 to 8449 depending on mystery saiba hit.

Also ignore 3rd combo, my other one on previous page does 6262 using L saiba and including a 214M

Edit looks cooler too, as the 214M smash effect shows the saiba grab in slow mo...

Ok, midscreen 2 bar swag with Vegeta assist and saiba summon/grab, 5711 dmg.

Hot diggity I love landing saiba grab after lvl1 super.

I rarely spend 2 bars with Nappa midscreen, but this might make it more worth it.

More midscreen work to follow (hopefully). I want a better 1 bar bnb with Vegeta assist.

Cheers dude. Tried so many combinations of air normals, specials etc to find one with this timing. Suspect there are others but it’s a massive process of elimination, when factoring all the subtle differences, and different saibamen. When this one landed I pretty much auto-fapped.

Alas, past me... I don’t think this is possible. Just tested, have a screenshot where he definitely should have grabbed, but doesn’t... tons of hit-stun remaining, hit box definitely passing through hurt box. Let me know ur PSN and I’ll send it back in time to you.

I’ve been toying with Nappa blockstrings. Suspect this is nothing original, but I think he can extend it midscreen using vanish for as long as he has meter. Kept it going here for about 30 secs and dropped it:

You can then mix assistlessly (yup, it’s a word, don’t bother checking) using the universal (6M) after any time the Saibaman does two quick attacks:

For no gap before the overhead you’ll need to not plant the last Saiba. 6M can be replaced with 5M (hence shmix).

The good thing about not using assists to extend pressure (meter instead) is that you can mix pretty much anytime, either using assists to cover ia j.normals, or to extend after 6M.

It’s costly, but good luck blocking forever.

Guard cancel will be the opponents best option I believe. I tried blowing it up with reflect and got destroyed everywhere. Can anyone enlighten me if there are any guaranteed openings for lvl3? I tried but couldn’t get one in after vanish. Could be my bullshit execution tho.
