Does Captain Cold actually win anyone anymore? He's just so terrible I think a 5 - 5 might be like a great mu for him

LOL why did they not buff him? 'Let's bring all characters closer together on the tier list . Except cold. He stays dead.' I like the patch changes but not addressing him at all really sucks tbh.

The 213 string? I honestly did not even notice, that string was pretty garbage even before. Standing 2 should have always been a mid, but whatever. I love the character but rn there really is no incentive for playing him. Kinda sad really, if they improved some of his strings a little bit he could be at least somewhat viable.

* Captain Cold - Cold Blast MeterBurn recovery 10 frames faster, has 5 less frames of block stun, and causes a bigger reaction on hit

* Captain Cold - Ice-Solated (Away + Medium, Hard) now hits mid and had its hit region adjusted

* Captain Cold - Prison Break (Away + Medium, Hard, Medium) has 2 more active frames, 9 less recovery, is +4 on block (up from +2) and had its hit region adjusted

* Captain Cold - Legendary Augment "Cyclotron Charge" recharge rate is now affected by Flash's character power

MB BF1 is +1 now, you can jail it off of these strings(with the normal gaps in strings of course):

122~MB BF1
21~MB BF1
B232~MB BF1
3~MB BF1

Depending on the pushback and positioning, you can get frame traps using MB BF1 in block strings. B232~MB BF1 in particular seems like it will be good on account of having it good plus frames, it completely jailing and it grants you a nice combo. The new MB BF1 in general seems to scale well so it may have some good use in combos.


Edit: Instead of ending with 3~DB2 as I do in the corner combo do b323~DB2 to get that up to 506 instead of 471. Just shy of 50%.

Edit 2: MB BF1 jails after these strings depending on all characters crouching hurtboxes, bummer. But there's still quite a few characters that it does work on.

I don’t want to be a party pooper but why would aaaaaaanyone do b232mb blast,, eeeeeever. If you see them block the string, just do the string since it’s more plus on block. If it hits do ice puddle which gets your more damage..

Now if you could do 122 mb ice blast that would be nice but we saw how nrs just trolled us with that

Maybe to catch a backdash but I definitely wouldn’t meterburn it tho but idk yet I’m just brain storming

Ice puddle doesn't work on every character and it's unsafe. This gives you a pressure option to stagger with that's not unsafe and doesn't leave you with the possibility of getting armored like ice wall does. Not saying that greatest thing ever but it's a nice pressure option that he didn't have before.

You get big Dmg for 2 bars off it

I think you people are missing the bigger picture on 121 MB ice blast

Even the D1 let's you close space and put out a set up

Also you can do 121 MB Ice Blast > MB Ice blast

mire hit adv to load up Trait, easiest close to corner converts, new combos in glove

This MB I s blast buff us a lot better most are given credit for

He has a 50% 2 bar corner combo not counting done

Haha man you are very optimistic. I think it’s better than nothing but barely.

Reasons why I think his mb blast buff is almost worthless

• 122mb blast on block leaves them too far away for d1
•12mb blast in hit leaves them too far away to guarantee any follow up
•b232 mb blast on hit you get on follow up and on block is not worth it

His b232 buff is much more useful imo but even that is not enough for the character imo

It would have been so cool that depending on what level you were would dictate how plus mb blast would be.

No trait plus 1
Level 1 plus 2
Level 2 plus 3
Level 3 plus 5

And then maybe you could connect 122 mb blast at level 2 and up
