Dragon Ball FighterZ Discussion Thread (Game)

Yeah especially against scrubs who will just randomly throw out super dash and catch you mid air dash. But that’s what assist are for, at least one of their uses. To cover you while you get in/iAD.
Yeah I have learned that when you take to the air and do not have a assist covering you a r2 is on its way lol. Seems like dash is pretty annoying AA if you know your opponents assists and when they like to use them.

I just ran into this really useful video for those of you still trying to cope with those day 2 online tactics:

Shouts outs to the Youtube channel WoolieVersus for this video.

Most of you probably know all of this, but I had no idea you could connect a Ki Blast into a vanish attack for a full combo punish. Now, to practice punishing super dashes until I get this timing right...

This games fun.

Anyone know what the forward medium overhead attack is on block? Can’t tell if I should be respecting this or not. Half the time when I counterpoke I beat there button, half the time they beat mine.

It’s annoying when people cancel their block strings into super dash. I keep getting hit because I don’t expect it, it’s easy to beat but I keep getting hit!

Are any high-profile people playing Yamcha?

It feels like I'm the only one playing this character right now, and I'm struggling with what to do combo-wise.

Technically undefeated in ranked. 28 wins, 30 matches. The 2 losses were sets I won 2-1 from actual great players. I’m not very good but I’m learning bit by bit.

Might have to lab Trunks, he keeps bodying me. Also the blockstrings into 2H or into super dash is a frame trap and I keep trying to poke out of it. Gonna watch the NYC tournament real quick and watch SonicFox body everyone, then it’s back to the lab.

Yeah i hear that, I dont know though depending on the string your doing it from that shit is very fast and hard to notice if stuff is on the screen to chance mashing out a 2h. The mind games gonna be real, real quick lol.

You gotta be watching for that super dash animation with your finger near that H button like it's a fuckin trigger, if they dragon rush you press L, if they super dash you press H or deflect, if they do that shitty f+M overhead you stand block it or just let it hit who cares, if they're using assists to convert then they're not the mash superdash tier.

I'm currently 45/50 in ranked. All 5 losses are from total scrubs in 19f delay, I've yet to fight a legit player, which I expected considering the game's casual pull but still.. apparently I'm super free in lag even to mashers. Tbf it was so bad it's hard to tell their level but they ended up as mash superdash and autocombo city so fuck them.

@Juggs
Doesn't help that this game's CPU is godlike and does better conversions that 90% of online players, I'm more scared of arcade cpu overheads that online players 100%.
Cpu will do overhead with krillin and hit nappa assist with it into vanish into level 3.

Idk who programmed the cpu in this game but I've never seen anything like it, most of my tech is from the cpu kicking my ass trying to unlock the blues.

Anyone got some BEERUS and Kid Buu bnbs?
For Kid Buu I think going through lordknight's channel and matches would be a good start, prob the best kid Buu atm.
As for Beerus our very own Sonicfox posted quite a few things on twitter with him from tech to combos to shenanigans, might be on his youtube as well.
Another Beerus twitter to follow is @UriFGC. Has more than Beerus (mostly Tien and Frieza) but his Beerus stuff is slick too.

@Juggs Yes I agree on that front totally turned me off right away.

If anyone is not busy and would not mind giving hand by checking my stream and tell me if the quality and sound is ok. I am not looking for followers or promoting anything like, just wanna make sure it looks alright in case i want to stream someday.

I am not getting this game at all. I don't understand this shit one bit. I beat a few people in casuals but I don't feel like I did shit, just pressed a bunch of buttons and shit just happened. I am pretty salty at the moment. I got beat by this one guy where I literally could have sat my controller down and watched since I didn't even get to play. Tutorial sure didn't teach me how to do that stuff lol

I expected this to be hard since I am new to anime fighters and this team stuff but god damn lol

Is there some kind of beginners guide for this crap? And is there anyway to turn off the auto combos or are they mandatory?

You cannot turn off auto combos.

It just takes time and practice man. Just play a shit ton, watch streams and videos, lab, play more, lab what you lose against, learn, adapt, overcome, repeat.

Trying to figure out someone to team with frieza and android 16. They are ridiculous together. Vegeta seems ok but i dont wanna play the "relative shoto."

I super wish auto combos werent a thing. Executuon coming from playing millia is already easy enough.

I know I just got really frustrated and needed to vent I guess lol I have been playing since yesterday, did the entire tutorial twice, most trails for every character etc. I think a big problem is me being completely new to this air dashing, tag, tag assisting stuff lol

I am going to keep at it. I love DB and want to gitgud so I am going to do it but I damn lol I thought some of my other FG experience would have carried me a little farther than this. I feel like this is my first fighting game again or something lmaoo

Frieza actually is part of my team, along with Kid Buu and Beerus. I also mix in Fat Buu and Goku Black here and there too. I wish I could turn them off. Knowing it is there makes me tempted to start mashing and I am getting blown up for it lol

Ok so to unlock blue vegeta and goku you have to beat arcade but I also heard you can unlock them by farming zeni ....
The final way to unlock Super Saiyan Blue Goku and Super Saiyan Blue Vegeta is to simply spend a lot of time playing the game. Dragon Ball FighterZ dishes out Zeni (its in-game currency) as you fight. You can earn Zeni in Story Mode, Arcade Mode, and even Versus Mode. However, it's worth mentioning that tournament fights do not give you Zeni.

Once you reach a certain amount of total Zeni, you'll unlock the Super Saiyan Blue characters. You'll need to earn 300,000 Zeni to unlock Super Saiyan Blue Vegeta, and you'll need to earn 500,000 Zeni to unlock Super Saiyan Blue Goku.

If that seems like a lot of Zeni, that's because it is. It's going to take any player a long time to earn that much Zeni, so patience is required.

It should be noted that you don't have to actually save up the required amounts. You can spend Zeni on capsules as you wish -- the 300,000 and 500,000 thresholds only apply to your total earnings across the whole game.

is that true ?

Yeah, I can confirm that's the case. The game actually gives you an in-game notice that you can unlock them after accumulating a certain amount of zeni.

I would much rather do that than deal with that hard mode arcade. Unlocking the blues and Majin 21 is becoming frustrating.

God Confirm

We're all from Earthrealm. If not, cool pic brah.
apparently me and God confirm play the same team (for now), stole his idea to combo off Gotenks' ghosts super.

I don't actually play Tien, I was just messing about with him after I found what Gotenks Super Ghosts can do, because I knew the damage would be off the chain.

We do have more or less the same team tho, but I'm running Piccolo instead. Tien looks strong but i only like Tien with the sash and the nipple, not this craneschool hermit outfit, can't understand why they want with that
