What's new

Who's still playing Aquaman?

I'll ask here as well cause the other thread seems dead. Is there any counter to B123 Water Shield MB being +6 on block? I'm having a lot of success using it like that, been labbing on how to interrupt/punish it but he seems to have 3 hits of armor until the shield is gone so he can not be poked into special nor MB B3, right?

Not that I'm aware of no. People love to press buttons right after though so you gotta be tight with your next move. If you don't delay the mb then it should jail but if you wait before blowing it up i suppose they could armor the hit and b3. Looking at you catwoman players haha.

This is pretty good but I usually just use the bar to get some chip with Trident Rush, but I only B12 xx Trident Rush in gas they wanna take the hit to esacape the chip. If I use B123, I just use it to confirm into Trident Toss or I do it by its self because the opponent HAS to D1 in order to beat Aquaman’s D1, so I play off that and either be plus off of blocking their D1, or D1 xx Trident Rush myself if they are using other normals than a D1.

For sure chip is a great option. It just depends on if you want to let them have their turn or not. If the opponent is expecting the trident rush (and really why wouldn't they be haha) you could throw off their rhythm with water shield and see if they get caught pressing buttons. It's riskier but a good alternate to TR in certain situations if you're trying to mix up your pressure. Works best in the corner though.

Depending on the character, you don’t necessarily lose your turn after MB Trident Rush if you space Aquaman out by the end of the attack. T-Rex arms Batman for example can’t really challenge Aquaman without bats if you space Aquaman correctly after MB Trident Rush.

Pretty much any character that benefits from walking back is tougher to deal with. He can also punish ftd on block for big damage.

I used SG when the game first came out, but she wasnt great and I went back to Aquaman since I used him in Inj1. Now I use SG but am bored and am trying to use him again. Honestly his BnBs are just not really worth it so i've just been b123 trident toss or fromthedeepMB. Easier to hit confirm and actually connect. Using bar for MB b3 and f3 and trident rush.

Not as good as he used to be, but hes still really fun.

He still hits like a truck around background bounces. I'll occasionally use the d2xxB3 or d2 b2u3 bnb but ya, basically space and chip for days

I have always been a player who doesn't ask for buffs and with aquaman I am sticking with that. In fact I only played him after the the nerf so maybe it's just me but i think the areas he's strong in are enough that he's unlikely to see buffs in the future.

Chip god.
Footsie god.
Combo mortal.

He and deadshot were the strongest defensive characters in the game... they were both nerfed to shit tier and may only be viable in a few matchups or their are other characters that do what they do just way better.

It tells you something about the game.

I think AM wins way more matchups than Deadshot though

I wish he didn't feel like a beta-test version of a character with his only combo extender being too inconsistent to bother with, but he is balanced. Only adjustment I would seek would be increasing the launch height of mb scoop, to allow for an easier b3.

He does a pretty nice job of keeping out people that he wants to keep out. You just have to stick to playing defensively.
