I actually think he could be up in the top 5 as the game evolves now.
Like Literally just tell me one thing he lacks.

I agree that Brainiac is amazing, but his wakeup is not good imo. It's very easy to stuff, regardless of whether they slightly delay it or not.

But that's completely fine as well, when we get to the point where everyone has developed their anti-wakeup setups and people stop mashing wakeup every time, it won't be that noticeable.

Brainiac is def overrated due to lack of MU knowledge, he will come down the tier list as he becomes more common. I was watching SylverRye stream the other day and he had no idea Brainiac's divekick is -15 and MB version is -8, didn't know how to stuff wakeup, etc. Brainiac is a peculiar character for sure and he's hard to know how to fight without a lot of MU experience or time in the lab.

Bane seemed low on this list.

I disagree with the wake up cause 2 minutes in the lab will tell you everything in the game can stuff it.
Safety is also something Brainiac struggles with but this is nullified kinda with proper trait management.
Other than that I agree with everything else on this list.

So, since so many players now agree that Supergirl is top character I have one question. Was she overbuffed or was she unexplored before patch?

Look at her buffs and you can easily see she wasnt unexplored.

Fairly agrreable. I think brainiac and dark side are overrated. I also think green arrow is solidly better than everyone else in the same tier as him but I don't know if I would move him up.

On a side note it looks stupid to me to have all these letter- tiers. What's wrong with SABCD? I get that it is to imply that the cast isn't actually that far apart but it's a subjective rating scale anyways. Bottom tier is bottom tier no matter what letter you assign it.

I know I am in the minority but I would place Beetle one higher. He loose's very few mu's and is a great all round char.

I think what would look stupider is having C and D rankings in a game when the characters that are on the lower end are not far apart from the top tier. Tier lists also exist to give people a gauge of their options and how everyone stacks up. If I see D and C tier my first thought is wow these characters are really far from top tier, game is pretty unbalanced.

The game in its current state seems super balanced hence the lowest tier is B which is only two letter grades from top tier as opposed to four or so. Other games that I've seen release tier lists that have good balance have had nothing below B.

Context for these letter usages matter, there's actual logic behind it as opposed to just adding C and D because reasons.

You're mistaken, bottom tier is different in different games. We used D tier for characters like Sheeva in MK9....characters with majorly lopsided match ups across the board and basically no 5-5's or notably strong tools.

If it's a subjective rating scale as you said, your complaint makes even less sense. It's just splitting hairs to find something to complain about really.

Nah. Remove him from the game and put a different character in his slot. No one really wanted him in the first place. He was bad last game and he's bad this game. We have two other teen titans. Cyborg is just a lame hero.

It is splitting hairs. That said, I think context is pretty irrelevant in a tier list and they are poor way to judge your character anyways. Additionally almost every community for every fighting games thinks that their game is more balanced than it actually is. Although I do think that this game is balanced pretty well.

Kind of off topic, but I feel like this community has become averse to labelling certain matchups as 4-6/6-4 rather than just 5-5. Could be because if someone controversially says their character loses 4-6 to someone, they get blown to bits and called a down player. If someone says a character wins a matchup 6-4, they are told they don't know the matchup, are downplaying the "losing" character, etc. I feel like there is lack of actual rational discussion of tools, and instead an odd web of politics and egos.

Just for enlightenment he isn't my main, I just asked to try to understand why. Simple like that.

My biggest disagreement would definitely have to be Aquaman being on the same tier as Cheetah.

Even with his very significant nerfs, Aquaman still has excellent range on his normals, MB Trident Rush is still an amazing move, and FTD is still great even if the reward on MB isn't as good as it once was. Oh yeah, and the 'get out of combo free' card he has as a trait. Most of the stuff that made him such a good character is still there...

Meanwhile Cheetah, while not shit by any means, has some very uphill MUs to contend with - not just against the S/S- tier lot like Batman, Superman, Black Adam etc., but also a few others like Wonder Woman and Dr Fate, simply due to being her difficulty getting in. What MUs does Aquaman have that are as uphill for him as Cheetah's bad MUs?

Those two really are not on the same level.
