Street Fighter V General Discussion

No, it is part of the game. Unless the move has special properties then it can be beaten by stuff.
But why should a light jab(which is the weakest attack in the game and can easily be mashed) beat out EX specials which are obviously stronger? Is there any valid reasoning behind this, or just believe it should because it has done in previous games?

You aren't supposed to be able to throw out an ex move in every situation and just beat anything non-ex. There are certain ex moves that have invincibility or armor, but little reward. Other ex moves open up big damage combos but have no invincibility. There is a reason for this. If one ex move had both of these properties, it would be considered too strong (think safe armored launchers in MKX).

It's all so very confusing.
I now play Necalli as well as Karin. Ultimately decided on Necalli over Ryu because I feel like Necalli will help me work on my pressure and oki more-so than Ryu.

I'm the opposite, I play Laura and chose ryu over necalli because he's just a straight forward character. But yea I do believe necalli is better overall.
Also anyone know if eleague over for today?

Necalli is just as straightforward, maybe even more-so.

1. cr. mp xx stomp for pressure.
2. st. mk - cr. mp xx disc guidance for punish.
3. Activate V-trigger the moment you get it.
4. AA with his SRK.
5. Use his cmd grab after conditioning frame-traps.

He's a character that, after watching pros play him for a few rounds, I pretty much picked up immediately. Barely any lab'ing required. Pressure with stomp a bit, AA with his SRK a bit. Hell, you don't even have to think about the best time to use his trigger.

Even though Ryu is just as straight-forward, Necalli's gameplan will benefit you more. The game forces you to play Ryu as a pseudo-rushdown character that, quite frankly, he's not meant to be. Make a character a zoner but give him shitty zoning tools and you get Ryu.

I fucking hate the fact that Capcom listens to shitty, whiny scrubs when it balances its games. The same fucking scrubs that, 30 years later, STILL cannot block a fucking sonic boom.

Ok, I just went off on a tangent there. Pick Necalli!

Yea everyone agrees with you on this one, pretty much capcom made ryu change but didn't give him any tools for that change.

Hell, I'm not even sure if they are showing post game analysis, considering there's probably commercials on the TBS side of things also lol. I'm sure this will get better as time goes on, but yeah definitely room for improvement.

Anyone know why on the fat app it lists cammy's cannon strike as 'worst' which is minus on block and cannon strike 'best' as plus on block. What do they mean?

When the cannon strike hits higher up, it's more negative. When it hits super low, it's plus on block. So those are the absolute best (lowest) and worst (highest) frame data she can have. Just remember that if she hits you really low, she's plus, but usually she is going to be even if she hits you on the upper leg and minus if she hits your chest area.

Anybody have any general tips for beating F.A.N.G? I get bodied by that character and it's starting to get annoying.
