ALL I HAVE IS THE GREEN.
I think S2 is better than S1 but I think they still made a few characters too strong. At least most of the other characters can compete now. I do feel like they really need to nerf the top 4-6 characters in some small ways to make them not so vortexy. It's not so much that they are S++ tier, it's just that they can easily take your whole life bar in a few mixups.

I don't think this is a case where you buff the lower tiers or else you'll have a whole cast of characters that feels like they can kill you with 1 hit and a mixup, and that's not really fun.

sure but most people complaining don't play the game at a near level to even have a credible opinion as nemo's in the first place

he was literally saying that shes a shit character who will never win anything this season, when shes an excellent character who has already won shit this season

its an objective fact that she at the very least already won shit this season, so yeah it's kind of exactly what downplay means. On another note, you may think Shazzy is downplaying, but he always gives very good reasoning for his opinions, and I've found myself coming back and realising he was probably right before when I've had doubts about shit he's said. And this is coming from someone who mained Vega, a character who gets MOPPED by Guile and I still have Guile trauma. Keep in mind Shazzy is probably the highest ranked SFV player in this thread by a substantial margin, I wouldn't be so quick to rule out what he's saying as downplay and maybe take it into account if you are interested in learning the game, I think he is someone who's opinion you should probably take a minute or two to consider, at least from the people in this thread anyway wh.

Woundcowboy is one of the consistently best NRS players of all time and still one of the most consistently blatant downplayers of all time too. Shazzy is this thread's him.

or maybe Shazzy is just a really good high ranked player with a much deeper understanding of the game than most the bronze-golds in here, and this thread is just the NRS community (notorious for whining) equivalent for SFV?

Based off where this discussion is happening, I'll tell you which one seems a lot more likely to me.

top level players have been shitting on S2's balance bruh.

Of course random nobodies are gonna complain about top tier, they always do that. I personally hated S1 cause of Mika and Chun, but the majority of people I know diamond+ consider Urien/Laura/Guile worse. I don't think they are but yeah.


BTW are you down to play some sets sometime? I haven't played SFV in a bit but I need guile xp. I kinda wanted to wait for the next patch but I doubt akuma will be much different.

Why aren't people killing Ibuki for command dashing every time? I was informed in this thread that its worse than Kens run, and those bomb cross-ups lol.. just DP both directions in 1f

Because now Ibuki has better grounded pressure so you have a lot more to worry about than you used to.

Technically any jump is reactable and should be AA'd, Laura should never get pressure after knee, every command grab or even normal grab whiff should be punished for insane damage. Any Ibuki dash should be shit on, almost no OH should land EVER, but circumstances don't play out like that.. these are very small windows, and while they are still large enough to be reliable, when you are worrying about the five other things Ibuki can do, dashes will absolutely slip by. In s1 no one was worried. Ibuki in comparison was weak and no one was stressing out all that much when playing her, and she had fewer options. Some of her options are new and some have always been there but only recently been turned in to something dangerous, or discovered.

That's why the dashes are getting through. JUST like Ken's run. It works. Respect is a huge factor here and you're totally ignoring it.. ever see Daigo throw 213 fireballs from a distance where jumping one would be a full combo punish? It's respect as much as the chance of getting clipped trying to jump one..It's fear that there isn't a 213th fireball but it was all a bait to make you jump and blow you up. (Or whatever)

So yeah, Ibuki's dashes are still nothing special, but now that the characters options surrounding those dashes have become, in fact, special, the respect, fear and mental processing time has risen exponentially, letting the dashes through. It's why Ken's run worked so well when we had this discussion in the first place. Ken was so scary the run got through.

Shrug. No offense man but I dunno why you dug out a s1 argument.

No you're totally right, Ibuki and the game itself havent changed even the slightest and everything she does she could do last season.

That MK? Yeah she could do that. So the CC combo from St.rh thatln Xian used repeatedly, that ABSOLUTELY existed in s1.

Her kunai also reloaded faster and more efficiently in s1. Yep. That thing Xian did multiple times to help close out rounds by restocking resources was ABSOLUTELY just as fast last season.

Also the entire cast was exactly as they are now. Same throw damage and loop potential. No changes there either.

She also had the same health. Yep. ABSOLUTELY.

You're entirely correct, Ibuki has ABSOLUTELY not been changed nor has the game and the entire cast AT ALL, and everything is identical from s1. I absolutely remember her being able to combo into 200+ damage off non-ch OHs,

You GENUINELY can't believe that she hasn't been significantly changed by the buffs to her and the universal changes and the buffs/needs to the rest of the cast? The idea that you think Ibuki is identical to s1 and isn't doing anything at all new in xian's play is one of the stupidest things I've read here in a while. You realize that fancy bomb mix-ups aren't what make her so strong right? No one denied that she had crazy shit off vtrigger, what we denied was her game leading UP TO and after that trigger. She was a one trick pony where you bled out to 20% health to get bombs and hopes they won you the round and if you didn't land a confirm they were all but useless.

Now, here's the point I'll concede.m you said BEFORE EVER SEEING THE CHANGEs, so don't hurt that arm patting yourself on the back now, that Ibuki would be running shit in s2, and *I* did not see the power and value of her changes nor admit they were as strong as they clearly are. I thought she was def better but still nothing special, though functional. I was clearly wrong and Ibuki is in fact something special. I still don't think top 5 (I just don't see how with the current lineup) but maybe I'm wrong again and she IS. But you know what? She was ass last season and had we never got patch notes she would still be ass, she'd be all about a last ditch effort to bomb mixup to victory.

But, no, please, reply to this with two sentences and say something super vague. Better throw in a disparaging remarks about Juri somewhere.

I found a wall calendar from last year in a drawer today, I'll pencil in some time to give a shit about your opinion next month on a day that no longer lines up.

Xian isn't doing anything new? lol. I'm sorry is he not using those normals with better frame data? Is he conceding the match when he's got under 50 hp left so that he's not using s2 tech?

Absolutely he isn't, c'mon man. I even see him stopping combos at s1 damage values so he doesn't get anything extra off those new mk links and such.

And let's not forget that I NEVER see him combining out of the OH TC unless it's on CH.

Whatevs. I wish the servers would come back so we could can end the patch or no patch confusion. A normal, responsible company that gave a damn about their fanbase would make a fucking announcement, confirming or denying.
