I said you could deal with it. And you could. Now it could just be that I played ryu and Mika and guess what, they anti aired it just fine, but all the dps beat it clean, birdie and Mikas headbutts beat it clean, chuns st lk worked very well, giefs lariat worked, etc etc. it was easily the strongest air normal in the game, but say hi to season 1 divekicks, air legs, and kens mk air tatsu. Ryu was strong but he wasn't busted to the level where he deserved the nerfs he got. He was on a similar level to Karin/cammy/necalli etc and they got away easy and he got gutted. That's all I'm saying. Even chun got off easy compared to him.

What yall think? 5050 into 5050. If the ex air tatsu gets blocked you are -2. If it hits you can hit confirm the st.lp b.mp so the set up is safe.

What type of fighting style is Necalli? Seems like he's a hybrid of everything. He has a charge move, a command grab, DP, no fireball but his vskill kinda act's like it. What would you guys consider him in terms of play style?

Looks solid. Lots of resources and a sacrifice of some damage on the ex dp v-trigger activation but probably worth it if you need a comeback.

What happens if she dps?

After the ex air tatsu its a guess which way to dp. After the v trigger cancelled ex dp its a hard knock down. If you land in front its a safe jump and you can block the dp and if you air tatsu their dp doesnt auto correct and it wiffs. But it relys on the air ex tatsu to hit. They can still dp that. A good chunk of the cast can aa jab it .

Just noticed this set up is a bit different to mine so i will have to test but this will work to cover the dp options after the v trigger ex dp cancel.but cammy ex cannon spike would win with this set up if she guesses right but its still a guess.

He's pressure/rushdown IMO.

He has neutral and can play a footsie and spacing game, but most of the great Necalli's I watch know how to pressure. One of the difference in the meh and the great Necalli's though is knowing how to play a slower, neutral centric game and space correctly, using his groundpound to check and punish certain things, etc, then transfer in to his pressure. He doesnt have a ton of range either, so knowing when/how to approach, etc.

Im certainly no expert, but I mained him for a while in s1, though most of my post is based on observation than my own play, because Im shit.

Also, for whatever its worth, I think Necalli is an incredibly good character that can monkey-stomp just about anyone, but is also very well balanced. He's top tier, I put him around Karin.

Not jumping in to the Shazzy/Rushdown argument, but I do hope Ryu gets some love in the patch this month. I really enjoyed playing him when I was trying to suffer through ranked and was using him earlier in the season, and I wouldn't mind picking him up as a secondary to Karin for when I feel like playing a different kind neutral... But me being me, I only want to play A+ characters because Im whats wrong with the world.

Thanks. Yea I play Ryu now, made Laura my second character. I'm interested in kolin so maybe I'll buy her. Like Akuma but not a fan of 3 bar triggers, don't know why lol.

Yeah pretty much what I figured. I just wanted to know if it was a safe jump and If it is it seems good. Not Urien tier good, but it's good.

Kolin is really interesting, but she seems pure setup based, so you have to like that kind of play, which I dont personally. Once you know all her shenanigans, she's got answers for so much. The two bar l/r mixup thing she has is dope, and I feel like she has great meter build, so she can afford it. She has setups that will beat even ex dp's, etc. I enjoy watching her, but dont want to play her personally.

I want Ryu A+, otherwise, if I come back after the March patch, I'll pocket Guile maybe.
