I wish there was an "arena" gamemode where you 1v1 or 2v2 or even 3v3 in a Roman Colosseum esc area so you wouldn't have to deal with hazards. I know they are part of the game but damn the amount of people online that literally rely on them is absurd. Plus I think it would be hype af to battle in a Colosseum with a crowd of people cheering.
That actually is a great idea. Just a medium sized to small circle. Maybe something like that will be added when add in competitive/ranked mode.

Has anyone gotten around to testing the guard break tech window. Friend of mine was trying to tell me that it's 2 frames but it feels way bigger than that
 
Yeah I had a 2v2 match with someone the other night after me and him beat our opponents it was our turn to match up. He stood on a bridge taunting waiting for me to come over until there was 30 seconds left. I went to a room with an opening to be thrown off and he came over only because it had that hazard lol.
A colosseum style stage with 3v3 brawls added would be so good.
I always vote the map because of this, there is always at least one map that has a minimal amount of environmental kills

If your argument is strong then do it but I warn you DM does that shit for a living you better be fully prepared.

Also idk if Kara Cancel is a completely accurate term for it but we don't really have a term for...whatever that is.

Because we already have a system in place that purposefully implements Kara canceling esque mechanics. It's called feints. Hell Raider's pressure is mostly that. What characters was the guy doing the cancel with?

If there were specific rules in the tourney not to do them then don't bother if there weren't then go ahead but it's not really going to change anything now.

Well technically debating if Kara should be bannable is debating if the guy should have been banned.
I mean it could be labeled several different things. The terminology isn't too important. And yeah, my thing is if there wasn't rules beforehand saying this tactic was banned, it's ludicrous to ban someone mid tournament for it.

Apparently you're also not supposed to run away or there's some sort of honor rule or something, lol.

Does anyone know what clearly the dude was banned for? It's a pretty crucial piece of info. Like was it a bug exploit with the Conqueror or Shugoki? Because here's the thing. If someone violated an established tourney rule then then the DQ makes sense. Whether the thing in question needed to be a banned tactic in the first place is what the conversation needs to be about.

I'd say go for it Juggs but recognize that it won't matter as far as results go however, it might get the guy off permaban (if that's what happened). If your goal is to try and improve the competitive quality of future tournaments by increasing mechanic knowledge (if it really is about kara canceling) then it might be worth it.

Who is this guy again and what makes his tourney so great? This sounds like a player who gets salty about certain play styles and didn't want them to win the tourney

Some guy who is trying to run tournaments is all I really know. I just think a lot of For Honor players are new to fighting type games and want to inform them. But it might be a waste of time. Also I don't really want to be the spokesman of the FGC, lol.

I don't even see what there is to debate honestly. If there was a rule, before the tournament, stating you weren't allowed to do this, fair enough. If not, and you decided to DQ him mid tournament, that is dumb. Then the "should this be banned". Well that's based on opinion. IMO I don't see a reason for it to be banned.

Ok frame data on fastest attacks per class:


Ok I will preface this with several things here

1) recorded on ps4 which is 30fps, so thinking pc just double frame count and millisecond response time needed @60fps doesn't change.
2) As far as the little charge to convert into millisecond response time goes keep in mind it does not exist in a vacuum! Setup, monitor/tv all add to response time, and all games inherently have input delay due to engine stuff usually 1-4 frames.
3) Attack listings are interchangeable, so side light 1 2 3 means you could go top, top, side and side light 3 frame data is the same either way.
4) I shoulda put it in video but originally didn't because its a heavy, but during berserker infinite chain side heavy becomes 18frames
5) peacekeeper wins the speed war with fastest chains, and single fastest move in the game with zone attack.

He's fairly familiar with the FGC (he's been heavily involved in Smash, actually played it at a super high level at one point, seems pretty familiar with SF) point is he wouldn't be seeing you as a spokesman for the FGC, that's already an area he understands.

Yes, but be ready to get banned.

Tournament Madden players argue with sim Madden players all the time to no avail. Never has one side ever conceded anything, ever.

400ms is still plenty reactable but keep in mind that is just raw data, doesn't take into account monitor/tv/setup and inherent engine delay(which I just don't know what it is, not a public guffaw that everyone knows offhand like sf5 8 frames of delay).

The big thing is you can easily see enough "MAN DID MOVE" but then you must also break it down to which of the 3 directions its coming from and block correctly. In sf/mk terms 400ms would be fairly slow but then again you just need to break it down to "must block" not "which of 3 directions".

The 12 framer moves are generally unreactable in this regard, 15 framers are somewhat difficult, 18 framers not that bad.

Cool man, good job. I gathered frame data at 60 fps on pc and it was double all your numbers for startup, possibly +1 depending on if you are counting startup or impact (impact would be the frame it drains HP from their health bar, startup would be 1 frame before that)

The expection is zone attacks for few chars. Warden, PK and Orochi zone attacks were all different then your numbers. Warden's was 31, PK 25, and Orochi either 31 or 37, can't remember and would have to check when I get home. Maybe it only comes out at it's fastest if it's a perfect input of both buttons on the same frame and I wasn't doing that? That's the only explanation I could think of.

I'll have to record it again to make sure. I just find it bizarre that just zone attacks for those 3 characters were much different for me. The other character zone attacks you listed I had the same numbers.
