Storytelling always takes a backseat to cast decisions. I'm not arguing it, doesn't mean it isn't stupid. Turning a guy into something he ain't (especially when what he was is dead) just to say "he's in a fighting game now" is shitty story telling.

MKX didn't ignore its tie in comic. It disagrees on a couple points, but its not like the the comic says Sub Zero is dead and the game says he isn't.

edit: And for the record, there is no evidence to suggest the comic "doesn't matter" only that they've made stupid retcons to bring in certain characters. Scarecrow still died, they just brought him back as a Scythe monster.

Look at Robin. They've already reversed their own in game plot point that Damian takes over as Nightwing. Shit writing.

The entire Kotal Kahn / Mileena betrayal is fucked in the comic, but they both still agree there was a betrayal and Mileena got overthrown that's a discrepency I can live with.

It's not like one says Reptile got killed in the fighting and the other says Reptile and Ferra got married and moved to Chaos Realm.
