Street Fighter V General Discussion

It's all so very confusing.
I'm just listing the frame data. And yeah if it's spaced right you can't do shiznit but it's still your turn. I'm pretty sure he can't space it to be plus, so you can check him after and probably almost always should.

I still think Urien is pretty dumb, but I've started doing much better once I did a few things:

1. Always meaty and counterpoke with a move that is 12 frames or less (startup plus active plus recovery frames). Example is Birdie's standing light kick. This recovers in time to avoid ex head butt in meaty situations and completely eliminates shoulder/headbutt into ex head butt nonsense.

2. Punish fireballs more. One of the easiest moves to punish on reaction with an anti-projectile move due to how incredibly far he sticks his arms out. Birdie's f hp can actually hit from 3/4 screen away.

3. Ignore the advice you often see to jump on Urien due to his "bad anti airs." His anti airs do great damage and lead to follow ups, and he can cover every possible angle. Bad players will insist they are unreliable, but if the Urien knows how to use f mp and st hk as well as cr hp, his angle coverage is fantastic.

4. If you convince him to stop using ex head butt, meaty with a move that has 3 active frames. You can cover both quick and back rise and don't need to guess between the two.

5. Force him to use v reversal if you can, since this means no V trigger. If they are unwilling to VR, go ham with moves like Alex's f hp, which normally have a huge weakness of VR.

meh just punish all his super unsafe shit and his low starter is so slow you can react to that every time, so easy!

Yeah, the main thing you have to do vs Urien is put him in situations that make him possibly want to use either super or V meter, such as EX headbutt or V-Reversal. Especially the latter. The less V meter he has, the less you have to worry about random left-right mix-up to death.

i dont think i have seen a v reversal from urien in season 2. V trigger in one of the guess wrong and die v triggers in season 2. Good tips ill have to give them a go.

itazan beating daigo's Guile in a ft3 so toptier man so gdlk guile top 1 lul

that's supposed to be free for Guile according to all the experts out there. bums complaining about guile's zoning and they don't play gief is really a joke even for that character it's not that bad if you know... you're actually good. if you main an even or winning matchup and still complain learn the matchup I have zero issues vs Guiles especially outside the mirror.

Normalize grab immunity.
Next S2 character will be revealed next week according to Capcom Japan SF Community twitter:

Oh please, capcom, don't use odd story mode characters. Give the people a known liked character and please for the love of chun-li's thighs, make the new character interesting and fun. They can suck but they have to be interesting and fun.

Well fuck. If Helen isn't at least a fun character with cool tools capcom will just be adding another chapter in their textbook "how to kill a beloved franchise".

Helen would be a huge mistake, IMO. She didn't grab my attention in the story mode at all.

That being said, Helen does appear to be a season 2 character. If they do add her, she better have a better model and an interesting toolset. Her ice moves sound interesting enough, it just depends on how well Capcom implements them (if the leak is true).
