So we're just going to use this thread to discuss the new Batman! I'll start off by saying he plays very similar to Injustice 1 Batman, but most of his pop-up strings have additional recovery that they didn't have in Injustice 1. As a result there are a ton of combos that worked in Injustice 1 that no longer work in Injustice 2. So for example B23 on hit midscreen doesn't lead to dash forward release trait B3 anymore, because Batman is recovering for a while after B23 and his B3 has shorter range in Injustice 2. You can't do B23 in the corner then follow up with forward dash 123 anymore. If you hit with 113 midscreen, the only way to combo off it without trait is by canceling the 113 into grappling hook. If you hit B113 midscreen, the only way to follow up without trait is to do F23, because Batman's B113 has more recovery in this game than it did in Injustice 1. Also Batman's B113 hits the opponent farther away. Batman's up batarang recovers a little faster in Injustice 2 than the last game. But forward batarang isn't two hits in this game, and isn't a mid either anymore. Batman does take a step back after throwing the forward batarang, and the recovery does seem better this time around.
So essentially Batman's juggling and combo game was toned down alot for some reason, but his zoning has improved somewhat. I'll post a video of my day 1 Batman and you tell me what you guys think. I definitely have alot more new combos I need to figure out now.
Other things I have noticed:
The 2nd hit of Batman's 123 string doesn't catch people as high in the air as it used to in Injustice 1
You can no longer whiff a normal or call out trait bat after EX grappling hook to start a new combo/reset
Forward dash has more recovery in this game
Air sparkles significantly more recovery on whiff and on block. Decently punishable now
When doing meter burn up grapple or meter burn straight grapple, you can't just press the meter burn button whenever you want during the grapple for it to work. You have to press the meter burn button right when the move is finishing
If Batman has trait bats out when you take out your opponent's first life bar, those trait bats are gone. They don't even go back into your arsenal to pull back out, they're literally gone. You have to wait for the timer to build up your trait bats again
If you have trait bats out when you or your opponent wagers, those trait bats are gone
Trait cancels on block feel more minus in general across all strings and normals, compared to Injustice 1
