Street Fighter V General Discussion

Karin has a move 'senha' which depending on the directional input either hits low or overhead, is the animation different for the two? I'm guessing the startup has to be at least. Anyone know?

EDIT: That IS her flaily looking arm flip, Ressenha. It hits overhead then from there can be cancelled into a low that is a (soft?) knockdown or a flip grab. That move is pretty bad. Unsafe on block. Lots of startup animation.

Are you talking about her flaily looking arm flip? It hits overhead then from there can be cancelled into a low, flip grab... or something else. Anyway if that's the move, it's pretty bad. Unsafe on block. Lots of startup animation.
Really? Well so if you block high first you still have to guess which thing she'll do next though right? I mean if she can choose between a low or grab then it can't be too bad, but I think I'm missing something here.

There is a gap between those options. I think they can both be thrown. She doesn't have to cancel to either. I'm certain that no cancel and the low can be thrown right away for a punish. The flip grab might get out but I doubt it. And it whiffs on crouchers.

Ah ok, so if you block the overhead then go for the punish or just block low and wait for her to finish?

the grab hits high so every option after the overhead loses to crouch block or is interruptible. Also the move is pretty easy to jab out of the air.

I almost always block high and then punish. If it's blocked she's kinda screwed either way. She does have other good specials. And ressenha, ex'd, is a dp essentially. But meterless ressenha is really only useful as a mixup after making em block low A LOT or as a Yolo I hope this hits kinda thing. Actually either way it's kinda a Yolo move. I don't recommend it much against anyone who knows the mu.

People that are predictable with their fireball game usually stop trying to use it once you hit them with a rassenha into ca. That's pretty much all it's good for.

Apparently ONI is Akuma when he completely lets the Satsu No Hado take control....I guess hes stronger then Shin Akuma

I've been trying to find the answer to this online but they all date back to like feb 2016, which fighting game do you guys prefer in terms of its meta or basically the strategy footsies etc involved, I don't really know the correct term. I'm also aware that this is testyourmight but I am still curious haha

Weeeeeeel,

Its all personal preference, but, I mean, @LionHeart is right, GG has a great meta. So does KOF. SF.. S.. ok, so, SFV HAS a meta. Lets go with that.

MKX is an odd game for me, I don't enjoy it because of the meta, I enjoy MKX because its just fun to play various characters. I don't care about the meta, I just like to yell KEERRRRMMBBBBOOOO whenever I land a combo.. Its.. really its all I have. So, I wouldn't recommend MKX because of the meta (this is from a personal standpoint, I am not speaking of the game in general) but I would recommend it for the really interesting cast of characters that are just fun to slap a bitch with.

They are basically the same, in that sense. Shin Akuma is supposedly Akuma using the full extent of Satsui No Hadou without holding back.

Oni is Akuma using the full power of Satsui No Hadou with no morals because he is completely consumed by the evil side.

Anyway, let's speculate on his SFV play style. I saw PL say that his v-reversal will be his teleports and I have to agree with that. Punches will move him forward and kicks will move him backwards. I think his v-skill will be demon flip. He will be able to perform various attacks while flipping including his air fireball and divekick. V-trigger will turn his hair white and skin dark and make his beads glow. While in this mode (Shin Akuma) he will be able to do 2 fireballs at the same time from demon flip and they will be plus on block. Or he can do an enhanced divekick or enhanced ground fireball for 2 hits (all plus on block). Each of these moves will drain his V-gauge so he can only do a maximum of three of these enhanced specials (similar to Cammy). His v-gauge will be 3 bars, of course. I think he will be able to charge his fireball for 2 hits meterless in regular Akuma mode.

If they do something crazy different with him, I think it will involve his Tatsu. They might make it move upwards more, depending on the strength or they might put an option to end tatsu's with a low sweep at the end for a hard knockdown.

Also, after an ex Shoryuken, I think they will let him throw an air ex fireball to extend the damage, like Ibuki. And ex Shoryuken will be his only invincible attack unless he is in Shin Akuma mode.

This is Capcom we're talking about, and putting in extra work isn't something they do often.. so I see him being just.. Akuma. Lots of damage, more combo potential, MAYBE some mixup potential and some trickery (that will most likely be gimmicky crap that only works on people who donf know the setups) DPs will have normal properties and do normal dp things. Ex dp will likely have some extra component to it, maybe.

I can see his vreversal being his teleports. I can see them going so far as to only allow air fireballs in vtrigger.. and I imagine his vtrigger will be a simple buff type that changes a couple moves and unlocks his fireballs possibly.

His gameplan will be like almost everyone else's.. he will pressure with MP and fish for CCs and counter hits so he can confirm in to damage because everything he has that's not the typical 'how to win in sfv' stuff will.be gimmicky and pointless once people figure it out.

Shrug. I hope Akuma wows me, I'm excited for him, but Capcom has done some weird shit with characters so far.. I dunno. If he continues the trend of having shit health, I really don't see him having to burn a bar for an invincible dp. Those DPS will.be there as a double edged sword, just waiting to win or lose you the round.

I'll be back 3ing
Wonder if Akuma will have a divekick. The divekicks we have aren't even good in comparison to previous fighting games yet they're problematic by default because they nerfed your anti-airs

Yeah, you're probably right. He'll have at least one invincible DP without meter. His health and stun will be low once again, so he'll always have to weigh that risk when opting to DP.

He'll be very similar to Cammy, but not as good, imo.

Anyone interested in sets in.. oh, an hour? Give or take? I'm looking to experiment and fiddle around some on a couple different characters, so I'll be playing to learn more than win (ie you may see me do weird shit,or repeat certain actions, etc) . I don't care if you bring your A game, I'm just stating my purpose up front. Ill also go ahead and put this here.. if you want sets so you can run back to the forums to run your mouth when you win, don't bother.

I just want some friendly, fun sets. We can skype, or just whatever. I'm desperately trying to make this game 'click' with me, and will be playing most likely Nash, Urien and/or Ryu. I *might* play my main (vega) but dont know. Anyway, lemme know! 930-ish est. (getting dinner atm)

They're problematic even in the SF games with good AA.
