Not everyone comes equipped with an amazing AA like mika and birdie. And the high damage anti airs can be unreliable (I'm specifically thinking of alexs cr fp due to slow startup and uriens cr fp due to less than amazing hitboxes). A lot of the time, jab is simply more reliable on Alex (whom I play the most currently).

This is a crazy thought I've had lately and where better than TYM to mull it over. Jumps seem harder to react to than in 4. At first I thought it was this frame delay that everyone talked about. But... if you look at footage of 4 next to that of 5... do jumps seem more visually obvious in 4? Like.. based on the scope of vision and the placement of the health bars? Maybe I'm just slower than a year ago, but it seems that way.
mikas anti airs aren't that good tbh. Comparing it to birdies is a little ridiculous.

Ah ok but do you mean on cc or just counter hit? Also I mean after the passion press when they bounce back can I do the f.fierce,cr.strong,command grab?
You can't ch without CC'ing with f hp. You can but it's easier to do it with charged hk into cr mp. Timing is tighter but it hits lower so you don't rly have to delay the command grab.

Hmmm.. I thought it was good. But I'm not a mika player so I'll take that. Birdies is better, no doubt.
cr mp moves you forward a bit so it doesn't work on close jumps(also doesn't hit behind like birdmans, and ex airplane doesn't have invincibility till after it's startup is done so it trades a lot and it trades for 0 dmg.

Where there is smoke, there is cancer.
For season 2 I want them to add the SFIV taunt for Guile where he can put the shades on or take them off. Even if it's costume specific for the classic Guile skin. I'd be more than happy.

Obviously they won't but I can dream lol

It's all so very confusing.
Fingers crossed for Ibuki love in S2.

I have tried and tried and tried to not play her. I'm shit and she's in the top 3 or so hardest to win with characters in the game.. but she's also my hands-down favorite character next to Vega., So.. its time to open my heart to the RAGE of losing as I get shit on as Ibuki because I'm bad at the easy to play, good characters, so god help me on a hard to play, questionably strong character.

Ya know what would make my world? Vega with a real reversal. Does he *need* it? No. Do I deserve it? No. Do I want it because I like to scream DEE PEE YOU SON OF A BITCH, while getting blocked and CC'd for 35% of my health? Fuck yes.

I'm not sure if that's sarcasm.

I personally think Ibuki is solid mid, but there are a lot of people who think she's just bad, and I can get behind some of the logic there..

But regardless of her comparative strength - she's absolutely not an easy character to win with.

It is, Combofiend has a history of saying some odd things.

Give me Akuma for season 2 damnit!! And Dee-Jay.

@super mario

So yeah, there are a few main types of mix-ups in SF. They are:

1. Mixing up lows and overheads. Get your opponent to block low, hit 'em with an overhead.

2. Using blockstun to alternate between throws and invincible attacks (ex. using cr. jab to start a tick throw setup, then doing an SRK when you think your opponent thinks you're going to throw, and thus mashes buttons)

These are the two "old school" mixup types. You can have other mix-ups such as alternating between a throw and an invincible attack after dashing forward - look up the "Umeshoryu", I think that's what they call Daigo's technique. But the above two are the most basic. The common element in a mix-up is that you are forcing your opponent to guess.

The content you posted was not really a mixup per se. Hope this helps and at least provides some useful info.

idk how you could ask for less throw range in this game when animations straight whiff through each other.

isdd is a better Guile than Chris G too

the mindset for creating Urien is the creativity they should use to to balance all characters in season 2. there needs to be more combo opportunity in general

ya bro add it to another favorable matchup for gief along with mika lul
believe it or not he's not THAT terrible of a character when he's not stuck in a matchup where his mobility can be exploited. I'm not saying he beats necalli, just saying it's silly to act like he's a pushover just because he's gief.

Life is a block string with no gaps.
Anybody who thinks Ibuki players don't work their asses off for wins, moreso than a majority of the cast, is out of their minds imo.

Note: I do not play Ibuki. I can't think of a single reason I'd be biased.

There's nothing wrong with Ibuki or did you not hear Combofiend. What R.Mika does in the corner Ibuki does midscreen
Mikas mixup starts midscreen and carries to the corner better or as good as anyone. And her mixup leads to more damage and stun than ibukis. In addition, it is much less resource reliant to do so.

Before anyone freaks, Mika is fine. Ibuki needs buffs to be on a level playing field. She's far too reliant on a v trigger that costs 3 bars (why capcom) and her lackluster vskill leads to not usually getting said v trigger until nearly dead.

It was a joke...

Contrary to what I felt using her in the month before Juri came out I actually think her V-trigger is fine. I think she needs better neutral, dmg and meter build which would be solved by Capcom just giving back the spinkicks they took from her

She can be made better without being made into some scrubby character
