General/Other - Pyromancer Why Tanya has potential BEST zoning in new Meta of the game.

EntropicByDesign

It's all so very confusing.
If someone were to want to pick up Pyro Tanya, what are your personal thoughts on the first things that should be practiced/focused on? Assuming the player is new/shitty with moderate execution at best?

@RevetLeafing

I'm interested in these two particular match up's and the missing third.

Pyro Cutthroat 7-3
Pyro vs Cybernetic 6-4
Where's commando? Where he at?

Aslo 6-4 cyber over 7-3 cutthroat?

That's really interesting.

Are you saying Cybernetic's zoning or mb specials would be a more variable match up then cutthroat?

I'm really interested in this because I would put the numbers higher. Aslo I'd have cutthroat over cyber. His tools would be better for that match up.

Aslo I'll say Tanya was always good. She just got more balanced for this version of mk far better then most realize.

I hope you prove that match up chart right because I think it's bang on if not more favorable for her.

Always thought Tanya wins 6-4 even before her buffs
I think so to she can teleport backwards fireball break his clone and avoid his ice ball. It's also easy to read if he's going to EXiceball you can teleport punish fireball. You can read slide to by teleporting backwards and throwing low fireball. Easy to keep him out.

Hey is Tanya DN a good choice against grandmaster? I'm struggling in this matchup.
Definitely, her mobility is too much for Sub Zero, Clone has nothing on Tanya's teleports, Ice Ball and Clone throw are to reactable and can be avoided from full screen with A simple pogo hop. She whiff punishes him easily also

Against a majority of the cast, I suggest you focus MORE on zoning, rather than actually trying to get in and so damage, wait for them to come to you, they will Always come to you. One they do get in, trap them with dust, start the cycle over again, however this strategy changes once she fights a teleport heavy character. Focus more on getting in if you are fighting a teleport character, people will tell you that Tanya sucks fighting up close, which is a lie. Dust helps her so much and puts her in really good situations, and it's safe. Once you are in the corner mix it up :)

Lamest Harley, still better sloth than Jer
How do I get the opponent to not punish air drill 80% of the time like you?

I feel like this is an important part of Tanya's game-plan that I am not able to master. :(

Prob by showing them a lot of different things so they're not always looking to block an easy read and punish

If it is instant aired perfectly, it is hard to punish. But it has to be perfect, I noticed @xKhaoTik had a hard time punishing drill also, and don't be afraid to use drill in neutral and not just as an overhead, it's a 9 % Splat, has pretty safe on whiff. It doesn't make it entire safe though, maybe like -8
