Btw what's with the hard-on for Julia anyway? All Julias do is "Knock them down, go full retard". Might as well just pick Paul and be equally happy doing what they wanna do lol. Yeah, she is an OG character but gameplay and playstyle-wise nothing is lost if she doesn't make the cut.... but then nothing would be lost either if Miguel didn't make it too, so we might see Julia.

Both the Spain stages are two of the best stages in the series with two of the best theme IMO.

Sorry, new to the thread and hadn't read all of it. I've frequented other boards dedicated to Tekken and litterally seen no mention of demand for Miguel for Tekken 7. Zafina on the other hand, yeah and I'd be all for it.

I tried him in T6 and was easily my least favorite newcomer. His fighting style of "plow through shit" didn't appeal to me. His story is lackluster as well.

But, like every new Tekken, I'll give him and everyone else another try. My mainstays are already in (King, Ling, Lili) so there's little more for me to want.

To be fair that's like 95% of the cast and 99.9% of fighting game characters.

Brutal street fighting isn't exactly a "beloved martial art" but I enjoy the concept and the presentation of it in this series.

Also the idea of someone without formal training being so good naturally and through years of beating ass on the streets that they can fight top tier martial artists competently is badass to me.

Also I really like his animations and the fact that he's an asshole.

Lei has always been my dude. Never learned him but having Jackie Chan in a video game is always great. Eddy/Christie I'm pretty sure got absorbed by Lucky Chloe. Which I'm kind of ok with. Wouldn't mind at least on capo coming back though.

I found Miguel's bland-ness to actually help expose him. It seemed like Tekken was really encouraging the over top nature of the story. Then he felt like a more grounded element that got thrown in. Even his story is just him being upset because his family died. He's kind of got sucked into the Chaos of the Mishima Clan. Plus his fighting style and moves are awesome. Who doesn't love a good haymaker and headbutt to interrupt someones fancy stances and flips.

Are you referring to one of his costumes? I didn't feel like he was a bullfighter. I just thought the frilly shirt was associated with Spain. And it's not his default costume. At least you got a badass. Philippines got a hot chick who cries when she wins for some reason. Not trying to claim Miguel properly represents Spain. Just sharing my perspective on him.

He was introduced as a bullfighter in his bio when he appeared for the first time in the series. And about the (original) clothes... not even bullfighters dress like that when they're outside the plaza, it's like outside of the country they think we all dress like that xD

Also, bullfighters tend to be slimmer, Miguel is huge for that kind of job!

The company has toned down the look since the first version (Tekken 6) because of negative feedback IIRC, but is another of multiple stereotype videogame spaniards as bullfighters (even the freaking Harry Potter quidditch game had the national team all dressed like that lol). You're right that he looks better since the redesign and it could be worse but still not the character that I was waiting for.

At least is not as bad as Vega

Feels kind of strange that Miguel took priority over Lei considering Lei's been here since pretty much the beginning, but as long as he makes the final cut then better late than never I guess.
As far as the capos go, I really do hope that at least one capo makes a return too. After all, Tekken was originally about real fighting styles, so makes sense to have a capoeira character in the game.
As long as that ridiculously OPed b+1,4 of theirs gets nerfed!

The story mode "poop" is one reason why I fucks with miguel. And the "boring-ness" of his moves is the other reason. He just strolls in, cracks his knuckles, then gets to shoving, stomping, punching and yelling "woo-hoo!"

Because even with the aliens and stuff (Before T5) Paul story wise was powerful as hell, he fought Kazuya to a draw and he also went undefeated in T3 (He beat Ogre but did not know he transformed so he left LOL)

I was checking his old bio and it's never mentioned that he is a bullfighter my bad. I guess during the Tekken 6 release I read the word "matador" somewhere and combined with his outfit I thought it was official since then, but it's not really mentioned anywhere.

Lei falls into the same category as Yoshimitsu. You will always have that one dude in every tournament who picks them and busts out the gimmicks. From a casual and sales standpoint having Lei or Yoshi is meaningless. From a competitive perspective it's great, both characters create hype and everyone who plays them is automatically "The people's champ".
