But to answer the title of the thread, no, purely based on legacy and time scale.

1. Yomi are a collective and have way more achievements and higher placements together.

2. Timescale, with NRS games we dwindle after the 2 year point, I would argue that competition was its most fierce between like NEC-EVO last year.

I respect him as a player, but I don't like his attitude. He NEEDS to back off. Nobody ever declared that he would reach the Top 8 and beat everyone. Just because he took Alien Tarkatan doesn't mean that he's a good player. He just took a broken character that can almost beat everyone. Nerf is coming on the way. EVO and ESL need to have TCW as an example of organization, like I said in the other thread. @Mr Aquaman needs to be the main organizer to teach some basic stuff to those EVO and ESL dudes. What happened to EVO is similar to what happened here in Greece. DISORGANIZATION! Props to Mr Aquaman for being a great organizer. Every organizer should take Mr Aquaman as an example of a proper organizer.

When Hayatei played Ronin, or Scar played Demo, or DJT played Cage or Tremor, or Slayer played KJ, or when everyone played Tempest Lao, or Foxy with Mileena, people were all "oh god damn fucking hype" like those are supposed to be some sort of shit character that isn't/wasn't just as good as Alien is in his current state.

Alien players get extra hate despite there being several characters on his level... People act like anyone can go and place with Alien, and yet it's always Dragon, and now Tweedy gets a top 8.... I think it's messed up that even when they win, they lose. Weren't there like 3 Takedas in the ESL season 3 top 8?

Is Alien part of the reason why he got 5th? From what we know until now, yes, because he only picked that character.

Is Alien broke? No need to answer.

Could he have placed with another character? We can't know it yet until/if he tries.

Is he carried by his character? Yes, as everyone except Sonic Fox, the only one that has proved that can reach far with mid tiers.

Should Tweedy get hate because he uses Alien? Not at all, he plays to win.


Imo Tweedy gets hate by two main reasons: His attitude, he is too self grown, that is evident and he should change that.
And the fact that (as many top tier character players) tries to completely detach his victories from the fact that he uses top tier characters. If you play top tier, your victories are due to your ability+ how good your character is.

That is kind of true about sonic being the only one to be able to win with non top tiers. Erron Black is arguably a bottom ten character. You see a lot of characters like Scorpion, Reptile, Sub-Zero, etc fail, but it's not like they are some shit characters or something.

But I truly think that if Dragon or Tweedy or any Alien devoted their practice to Demo, Piercing, Cutthroat, A-List, Ronin, Mystic, or Shirai Ryu, the result would be very similar to what it is now. If Alien is broke, then so are about 15-20 other variations.

We should make mockery of the ones that are willing to lose with their favorites opposed to mocking those who would rather win...if we are to mock anyone.

However I was refering to the extended dominance Sonic has shown winning almost everything with many meh characters.

We pretty much agree I think, yep. What most people might find annoying, as I said, is the fact that the guys with the SAWs or the M4s try to tell the guys with the Rugers that their victories have nothing to do with the weapons, but with their aim and tactic. That's the point.

I don't know if, as Tom said, it's 50% the character 50% the player, but definitely both things are involved, and we can't ignore any of those parts. But egos are there, it's normal.

That's what amazes me the most about Sonic: for him that distribution of percentages seems to be much higher in the player part. He has proved it many times.

^^THIS^^ is where you're wrong my friend. There's nothing wrong with being confident in your ability to compete with the best. He's good and he knows it. It's a breath of fresh air. There's too many people who say "I'm not that good" or "I don't take this game seriously" and it's getting pretty fucking old quick.

Not talking about his confidence man, confidence is very positive for a player as long as you stay realistic.

Talking more about his attitude towards others. I mean, not even necessary to remember all the conflicts created here. But if you enjoy that atmosphere, it's ok!

Ismael covered for me about my reason not liking Tweedy. I like him only as a player, and I don't hate Alien, and this is what I stated above. His attitude is the reason I don't like him. To respect other fighters is a worldwide rule among each other since ancient era. And to be a good player you need to have a good attitude towards your own self and the others.

I'm not surprised that many of you don't have this privilege buried in your heart. Emperor Outworld is only joking with his comments. Tweedy was kind of serious in his statements towards the rest of TYM. Those are different from each other.

To be the best player is to have bested the whole tourney, like Sonic Fox and Scar did. Sonic Fox and Scar NEVER ever said that they're the best. They proved it by act. And, of course, I'm not better than those monsters, BUT I don't ever say that I'm better or not than the others. My play style would prove it, not my words. And I respect everyone's opinions about their characters and attempts to be better than me.

If you play fantasy football, do you pick the player who will get you the most points or do you pick the player who has the best personality? FGC is weird in that it's about the character you play vs the skill of the player.

Call of Duty Black Ops, everyone only used FAMAS at a high level mostly. Didn't change the tactics involved. Didn't change the fan base.

If it was ONLY Alien then sure. But for there to be two Alien mains out of 8...hell, even top 16... given how "broken" he is. I say that percentage is solid.
