Street Fighter V General Discussion

youre math needs some work too :(

ibuki's been in 3 different fighting games in the past decade
Your*

Maybe you missed the point of my initial sentence. 3/5 of the main SF series in a span of 20 years is more than enough time to say she was in for ages.

But yea I caught that sentence mistake already, as if it's a big blow up. Whatever makes you feel better online evo champ.

@JJvercetti thanks for helping me realize the mistake in my post :).

Anyways, anyone has a Dhalsim or Laura here and wanna play later today? I need to run those MU as I'm not good at it. Or anyone in general wanna play sometime this week?

Ranked legitimately depresses me and no one ever plays in battle lounge

Ibuki is worse than F.A.N.G atm. Something I didn't even think was possible

It's an illusory meaty. To make it even worse like her throw wasn't already bad enough Ibuki gets nothing off a low outside of point blank range so you can walk back and still disrespect it

She can check you after a back throw with a kunai

I said back throw it's even in a reply quote. I know my stuff buddy
Misread the backthrow stuff.

Her being worse than FANG would mean she REALLY sucks. Which, off first glance, she definitely doesn't. FANG literally gets nothing worthwhile to combo with, has awful defense, and can't really zone exceptionally well. And his defining feature is practically nonexistent.

Ibuki doesn't really come off as a purely OD offensive character outside of her V-Trigger stuff, nor does she seem all about defense, obviously. Her strong points all tie into resource management, and I think when people get used to where they should be pressing and kicking back and trying to get the resources up is when she'll really get going as a character.

Bruh even you know that's ridiculous. F.A.N.G. for one has to play much better than Ibuki does to win. Ibuki got EX dp. FA.N.G. got EX please don't throw. Ibuki got mixups. F.A.N.G. dirtiest thing is only on hard knockdown or you in the corner and he has cloud out. At least you can buffer a charge and her dash is pretty quick. I'm sue you can abuse the 8 frames you always talk about.

What does illusory meaty mean? Idk what her options are but I'm sure no one wants to constantly eat lows. Hell you could sweep and dash for pressure. I did all the time when I played Necalli.

@JustPressingButtons you can add me on psn and CFN: CM_BUYACUSHUN.

No need for a stick honestly. I have a fightstick that cost me $200+ and I only use the ps4 controller for all fighting games, Hori rap v.5 gathering dust man so don't worry about that. Also my suggestion is use the dpad, DEFINETELY, I don't think anyone uses the analog sticks, well there was a member here that uses the analog sticks but id say 95% of players use the dpad. As for the button layout in SF 5 I just use the default "type A" configuration.

use a pad if you suck with stick.. controller makes no difference.. the default layout should be fine.. if you find something hard then mess around with custom controls and switch things around til you're comfortable. Controllers have 0!% influence on people playing. It's whatever you like to use and can use to your fullest potential.

I'm the guy who uses the analog stick and im ass. I wish i could use the d-pad for SF style fighting games.

Eddy Wang

Skarlet scientist
Yea in total she's been in the street fighter series for 19 years. 17 if you don't want to count the vanilla SF4 to SSF4 transition.

That seems like ages, to counter what Eddy Wang was saying.
you guys counter everything these days its not even funny.

anyway, my point hasn't changed, instead of assuming stuff this early on, let her breathe and grind the damn matches, ppl were saying Ken was ass, and he has been moving up on tier ever since, and he is one of the most played characters as well.

Yea I kinda remembered it was you. Dude to each his own but I'd really recommend you trying and grinding it out with a pad, it's all practice bro, I used to try playing with the analog sticks but then I found out that dpad is actually easier for me and theres definetely more precision for moves, gameplay, etc. At least in my case I found I jumped 3 out of 10 times that I didn't want to jump using the analog sticks, and in a match even one accidental jump can be the difference between a win or a loss.

question...do you have to pay for characters separately? like juri and Urien
If you dont have the season pass then you have to buy them separately with either 100,000 FM or with real money 5 or 6 bucks i cant remember. Do the general story and characters story and watch all the character guides for easy FM.

@B. Shazzy What do you do with Guile when you got them in the corner and their knocked down?
