"Mind Over Matter" I dont mind, and X dont matter
Good shit, though Its hard for Me to pick up TG. Maybe someday though...
First things first, cut any two bar combos and ex db3 out midscreen They are not optimal and ex db3 scales hard. Same way with 213, only use it as a starter. I'm not well versed on displacer anymore, so there isn't much I can give you. I've got some TG combos though.Hello,
After learning Sub Zero Grandmaster and Alien Tarkatan, it's about time I learned Raiden. Thunder God and Displacer fit me well.
I learned by myself WITHOUT YT videos these kombos.
When I write H, I mean the HOLD for the next face button. The same is applies for the T, which means the THROW.
THUNDER GOD

Every time, I try to do the combination 213> EX DB3 this fast, it results in the X-RAY. Because of that, I had to time the EX DB3 a bit later from the 213.
All the kombos are the same in Displacer, too.
Because, I'm new to these stuff here, I'd like your suggestions about Raiden. What to be careful, what to avoid, what to do most of the time. The ball is yours. Any suggestions are acceptable.
BTW, how is anyone doing the LKC? Any inputs? Thanks. Just saw the OP and was wondering about that.
Thanks
I disagree, you explained things quite well.First things first, cut any two bar combos and ex db3 out midscreen They are not optimal and ex db3 scales hard. There's maybe a few more but that's everything that come to mind. If you need clarification I'll try explain anything you don't understand.
Anyway, to do a lighting run cancel, you need to hold db1, and then cancel with a run,ff+block. It's best to practice the motion over and over again before attempting it in a combo. Now, to actually do it in a combo can be difficult, with a bit of practice it should become second nature.
In combos, you'll only be using it after b14, and to cancel it correctly, you need to follow the visual cues to get used to it. If I'm not mistaken, you should input the run as soon as see the ball begin to form. Then, input your command. Again, this takes practice, and it'll be a while before it becomes muscle memory.
I'm not the best at explaining, but if there's anything I missed or you didn't understand, someone else should cover it.
@Lil Majin @DDutchguy
Your listed corner combo is a relatively standard corner BnB for Raiden. The EX-db3 adds very little extra damage however and as such it's best to end the combo at the 214 with either DB1 (restand) or BF3 (Oki) as an ender.I almost got used with LRC. I made this corner combo with EX:
FJP> B2> B2> 214>EX DF2> B14> LRC> 214> EX DB3> B11T
This one packs 35 combos and 51% damage.
@SonicNinja3532 , I'm trying the B14> EX DB1, but for some reason the EX DB1 is a bit laggy. Doesn't it work anymore? I did in one string the B14> EX DB1, but it doesn't work. I have tested it with AI auto-block.
Any ideas, @Lil Majin , @DDutchguy, @Nivek ?
I see. Makes sense. No wonder why I didn't make B12> EX DB1 able. I'll try this out in all variations. It might be that after KP2 they gave the opponent more gravity to the juggle, thus preventing it to happen.Your listed corner combo is a relatively standard corner BnB for Raiden. EX-db1 combos don't always work. I'm fairly certain B32, B14~EX-db1 doesn't connect because B32 doesn't give enough of an upwards juggle. F12B2, B14~EX-db1 does work as far as I know.
Another reason EX-db1 in Thunder God may not work is because sometimes it can only combo of you dk EX-db1, db1. This places a lightning trap, which can connect earlier than the EX-db1 does.
Bread and Butter; it means optimized or best.I was wondering something for a while guys. I did read the term "BnB" anywhere in the forums, but what do they stand for? :S
Thanks for the explanation. I'm not good with the English idioms.Bread and Butter; it means optimized or best.
You gotta remember this is a fighting game forum for pros. These guys all face palmed at your question. You're better off Googling 'fighting game - term' and using these guys for knowledge of matchups, tech, and how to's.Thanks for the explanation. I'm not good with the English idioms.
BTW, @DDutchguy , forgot to add that I want to end the combos with B11T, because this gives the knockdown, which gives me more time to stand back. The others are quite risky for me.
Your facepalm won't work, because from casual I leveled up to a hardcore. In the past I wasn't interested in fighting games until now when my mates started playing MK10. This is where I started getting into fighting games, therefore I'm new to these terminologies. You gotta remember this is a fighting game forum for pros. These guys all face palmed at your question. A Rekka is a three hit special move that requires 3 inputs.Your facepalm won't work, because from casual I leveled up to a hardcore. I know most of what these terms mean, but not those unique ones like BnB and Rekka.
And I know that it's a fighting game forum for pros, because I tend to enter here to learn a lot of stuff about the chars and to improve myself in the Mortal Kombat world.
That's all from me.
I would love to add you, but i have ps4. This is indeed one good suggestion. To improve yourself is to fight against better players than you.A Rekka is a three hit special move that requires 3 inputs.
I'm kind of new to being good at NRS games too, so my reaction to such a question isn't knee-jerk.
Its just been you and I since you asked for clarification of the terminology, so it wasn't my facepalm. I'm just offering friendly advice.
Your next step is to look for games with guys from here. My GT is GAV60 if you're on XB1. I'm sure others will be accommodating as well.
Same here. I was mega-excited when KI was in development, but only MKX moved me enough to recapture my old spirit from my old SF2, Samurai Shodown, VF, Tekken, and FF days.I would love to add you, but i have ps4. Im new to these stuff and im trying to learn them as fast as possible. Used to play street fighter, fatal fury, samurai shodown, etc. Its been a while since i taken an interest in mk since mk4. Mk10 is the game that got me really interested and learn to be competitive.
Last year, i watched the finals with @Nivek against my mate, Tsaf K, here in Thessaloniki and this is where i got horny of playing again the mk.
Take care.
Forgot to add this video.Same here. I was mega-excited when KI was in development, but only MKX moved me enough to recapture my old spirit from my old SF2, Samurai Shodown, VF, Tekken, and FF days.
Nivek's reactions are truly superhuman. Buff Raiden.
Interesting. Will try to lab it a bit. I was wondering why the electric fly didn't work after the 1122.So I've been struggling with connecting Electric Fly after 1, 1, 2, 2 for a while now and only a few days ago I found out what I was doing wrong. I looked at my inputs in Practice mode and noticed, since I tend to mash out the 2, 2 at the end, my combo would came out as 1, 1, 2, 2, 2 very often. So basically I've been adding an extra 2 at the end. Once I became aware of that and corrected it, connecting Electric Fly at the end became very consistent.
Just a tip, in case someone else is struggling with this.
That's the way I do it. I hold 2 with my index finger and press 3 with the thumb. Otherwise the timing is very tight.I just wait for the audio que on the last zap noise on 1122, there are 4 pops on the last 2(hold)
Also if you are having trouble with that you can always keep holding 2 and move the rest of your thumb or another finger to 3 while holding 2. It's an easier way to get it
Yeah I know what you mean, practice waiting till that last pop I am able to get all the time nowThat's the way I do it. I hold 2 with my index finger and press 3 with the thumb. Otherwise the timing is very tight.
