OK, and that makes even less sense. Thousands of characters can do what all the street level characters do. What makes Nightwing distinctive? His staff? You don't think thousands of characters could do that? What about Catwoman? I mean, she's just a glrofied jewel thief, probably any martiala rtist could play like she plays, right?
And I mean, what about MMH? He can literally do everything Superman can do, so why have Superman in the game?
If you say that because he feels distinctive in the game, that's the same reasoning I would use to defend Bane's placement. And since he can do everything Superman can do, his implementation and feeling distintive has to be the defnse for his inclusion...right?
To me, whatever you say about those characters being distinctive, I can make a similar point for Bane being distinctive.
Your point just doesn't make sense to me. Most of the heroes probably have a huge overlap in what they can actually do. That's irrelevant to the game, because all that matters is the moves NRS choose to give the characters they choose to implement.
And so far, they have done a great job of making those moves and the characters they are attached to feel distinct, and like they belong.

Nightwing and Batman can perform similar when it comes to physicals such as strength and agility. There gadgets make them different, night wing has that wingding, darts, staff and ricochet escrima sticks.its same with Green arrow abd his trick arrows.
Martian manhunter, shazam, superman and wonder woman can perform similar physical moves but they also have their own unique gadgets and powers.
Superman has heat vision, gamma vision, rapid fire heat vision, solar flare. Super breath and cold breath.
Martian manhunter has TElekineses, telepathy, phasing and Martian vision( which is kinda like kinetic energy).
Shazam has lightning bolts, ability to summon magical objects, teleport.
Wonder Woman has magical unbreakable lasso that can create fire, her bracelets when crossed together create a shield, she can reflect projectiles, create shockwaves, summon weapons such as swords, spears, gundao.
Bane is all about kicking, punching and throwing. They can give these moves to literally any brick. It's better if we get swamp thing.
What ra's can do katana can do but even better and more. Beowulf, Hawkman, Frankenstein and Amethyst as well.
I m also against Mr. Freeze and captain cold when firestorm can do what they can + more.
