Hi there Mileena community!

I'll preface this post by saying that I think Mileena is a very solid character. Certainly come a long way since release. As she stands currently, I feel she isn't in need of nerfs as many will claim.

With that being said, as a Kitana main, this match-up drives me absolutely insane! I know every character has their bad match-ups and Kitana is no exception. However, I struggle to pull in a win versus this character, especially Piercing. Her zoning is top notch, countering mine in almost every way. Roll is such an amazing tool for punishes and the EX version has good armor on top of it.

So I come here asking for some general tips and advice in this match-up. I primarily use Assassin, but I acknowledge Royal Storm is probably better here. Jumping in on Mileena is a no-no. Zoning is borderline useless versus Piercing. B21 out ranges my advancing strings. Low blocking and advancing has seen some success, but then I have to play the 50/50 game. Parry works only until they wise up or go back to zoning.

Not saying the match is impossible or any 3-7 nonsense, but I feel I'm missing something here. Other characters have much worse dirt than Mileena, yet I struggle with this match.

Any and all replies would be appreciated. :)

We didn't ignore you on purpose breh. With the way our character has been hunted, we've moved into the shadows haha. Nah seriously though, ask the Kitana community for tips as they probably have the best knowledge for your question.

Where does she sit Tier Wise now? I know Piercing is crazy or so I've heard but what about Ethereal? (Always thought it looked cool but I only ever see Piercing being used) There that big of a gap between the two variants?

there all good now. I can't find any reason to pick ravenous over piercing or ethereal but both piercing and ethereal are great variations and can cover pretty much every matchup

No I don't complain. I'm just saying that if your b1 gets low profiled by Johnny's d4, you can try high pounce in neutral game to stop him from d4 into another d4 (because our pokes won't reach)

You can go ravenous if you want to have a pseudo block infinite vs Tremor I guess?

I recently picked her up for fun, and I have to admit it's pretty great being able to zone effectively. What surprised me was how good her d2 is, I haven't had it stuffed yet...

Hmm. Maybe me running across them and occasionally struggling a bit happened for a reason. She seems.....I dunno "annoying" I feel like I get hit anywhere

So she's like S tier now?

I have here in my top 3 right now. and she can pretty much handle every character. I think there are some match ups she struggles in but it's like a 4-6 at worse so nothing to bad.

I came here searching for some answers with the exact same problems you mentioned. She completely shuts down Kitana gameplan. Maybe we should try mournful since the glaive may contest mileenas zoning since its a mid however her telekick is always going to be an issue(can't jump). I also main mileena but against her I see no weaknesses since once you get in on all the zoning you have to deal with her upclose where she is also really good. She is also good at mid distances with her b12. I do think mileena and dvorah are the top characters in the game.

Not sure if glaives would matter all that much. In theory, you'd basically be trading with low sai since you can't jump because of the threat of telekick. Even then, if they read your glaive, one EX telekick for full combo will likely take away your life lead. I'd rather have parry so that once I do gain some ground, the Mileena player has to consider what button to press and not abuse B12.

Thinking about it, Royal Storm might be the better way to go.

Hey Mileena community.

I have played piercing mileena since release of the game. And I've only had one goal and that's to be the best mileena that I can be. Unfortunately this is my first fight game and feel I still have a ways to go. I was told by a friend that TYM is the best place to go. I'm mainly looking for a training partner. I mostly play on PS4 but am willing to buy Xbox live again if you play one the Xbox one. I'm more than happy to take any advice about fundamentals of the game, match-up, or any general tips.

Just want to vent a bit. It's been a salty last three days for me. I think I'm having some controller issues but the bulk of my salt stems from my own incompetence. Would have thought I never touched the game before with the way I've been playing. "How you expect to run with the wolves come night, when you spend all day sparring wit' the puppies?" I think sparring with puppies has finally caught up to me. Feeling like you hit a wall with a character that's op is a low feeling. :(
