Going through this game with Wolnirs Holy Sword is making me want to put a bullet in brain, its super tedious yet i am enjoying myself. Makes killing bosses even more rewarding

Str weapons seem pretty legit for once. Hyper-armor through an attack for 3/4s of health or just flat-out kill them

Give it time and you will see a ton of players min maxing, mainly with dex builds as always, and using Sunlight Blade (think it's called lightning blade now) and dark moon blade. I've seen guys get 3 shotted or parried and a touch with a Uchi buffed with DMB.

Honestly that's my next build. Currently running a quality so I can try all the weapons and see what I dig. I was going to make a pyro 30/30 int/fai and go with chaos infusion on a light weapon and use great chaos fireball to punish chuggers and ganks but I agree that casting is meh this time around. We can always hope the DLC stuff is good though! But realizing how I play I'm going the fai route and buffing for stupid damage and will enjoy the miracle utility for PvE.

It doesn't feel like spellsword works to me. You sacrifice stamina and hp (which already gets a penalty when you invade or get summoned) for a temporary buff and the buff isn't worth anything unless you have the stats in the magic type for the buff scaling as well as the melee weapon scaling. Infused split damage is terrible because you can't buff it like you could in dark souls 2 and a Raw buffed weapon weaker than just a weapon scaling for pure physical damage.

I haven't played MKX in the past week because of this game.

Also battling the Dancer at level 35, with a +3 Greataxe. Get on my level.

Generic question time, what's you guys' favorite weapon thus far? I'm tied between Gundyr's Halberd and the Profaned Greatsword. Hot DAMN both weapons hit hard and have sweet ass looks and movesets. Profaned GS getting a fire arc during its weapon art and charged strong attacks looks godlike.

My favorite weapon in this game is probably my fav weapon in every souls game, the Moonlight Greatsword. It's not as good as 1 or pre-patch 2, but that's not why I like the weapon anyway.

My first character I exclusively used the Exile Greatsword and loved it. It looks badass and does decent damage.

This was my first build, pure STR build:


10/10 fashion if I do say so myself.

Right now, working on a sorcerer hybrid build, using the MLGS, Dark Sword, and Washing Pole. Dark Sword and Washing Pole are OP! A few of the MLGS projectile attacks take no FP, but definitely do work to the durability of the weapon. Need to keep repair powders with me.

I really like Wolnir's Holy Sword
too bad its one of the worst weapons in the game
I want to try Mornes hammer though but dont have the strength, I LOVED gram from DaS1 and the Bell hammer from DaS2

Yeah I did some invasions the other day and it's insane how good the weapon is. Especially with the stomp ability which practically makes it a ultra greatsword but better.

I progressed to Boreal Valley today, but so far my favorite weapon is either the Exile greatsword or the maracas (drang hammers).

damn Ive to pay 30k+ for lvling up these stats to use the stronger magic spells => I need 11 x 30k+ souls
not sure if its rly worth it since Im already in late game and my build is not a magician anyway

If you PvP with summon signs and you're in ember form you have ember level health. I'm sure you know that by now though.

But yes the spellsword is harder to pull off this time, but totally possible. Gotta make sacrafices unlike the last game where you could be both really well. I'm on the fence on final opinion but am leaning towards that it's better. That's why I think you see so little of them or casters (well casting really blows in DS3 lol) because a quality or strength/dex build gets their max damage, life, stamina, etc. without any sacrafices.

I don't like the support you get for being a host, I don't like the rolls, I don't like the speed of healing, I don't like how terrible magic is and I don't like the poise. SFV online sucks but the state of this game is going to send me back to that one


It's like no one makes finished games anymore

I've never seen one satisfied lost from you. Just seems like you play games to be pissed and disappointed lol

anybody else hate queued rolls? Its really starting to piss me off during boss fights where i get hit then 3 seconds later i roll into his next hit and die because i pressed roll as i got hit

So today in PvP I noticed that someone was using the weapon art Perseverance (the one that supposedly increases poise for about 2 seconds) in an odd way. Apparently if you cast perseverance as you're about to get hit, you tank the hit at greatly reduced damage. Basically, Perseverance is a flash parry. This makes my Caestus build very happy.

Edit: Well it's not entirely a flash parry. You can't immediately do a move afterwards à la Tremor and Kabal, you have to wait for the animation to finish.
