These are the highest damage 2 bar combos I've found with your opponent in the corner that leave them in a restand.

40% restand + Guaranteed s2
50/50, rekka, 1 , mb1+3, NJP, u3, b11u4, 214, excrawl, 214, rekka, 1

44% restand + Guaranteed s2
214, exspin, u3, u3, b11u4, 214, ex crawl, 214, rekka, 1

45% restand + Guaranteed s2
F13, ex flip, u3, u3, b11u4, 214, ex crawl, 214 , rekka 1

47% restand + Guaranteed s2
F134, ex flip, u3, b11u4, 214, ex crawl, 214 , rekka 1
wait a sec, what do you mean with a guaranteed s2 ?? can u actually hit that s2? or can the opponent block it?

Well, just remember armored Rekka's on block aren't necessarily a bad thing, especially if your opponent can no longer zone you. Depends on the character I guess.

Krawl should probably only be used on read to punish a projectile, not to cover distance, the recovery isn't as nice as a lot of slides

But yeah, you pretty much listed your options for getting in and getting a combo, however if you are just looking for a fairly safe knockdown for the zoning to stop, Tail Snag has similar range to B3, except you go into low profile state while you do it (most projectiles will whiff) and on hit, pulls him all the way towards you and knocks him down meaning you get to start your game up.
Very true, Rekkas on block aren't a bad thing at all and Krawl to punish projectiles only - I'll keep that in mind, I've always felt vulnerable after doing it just to close space.

Some characters who have been annoying in the keep away game aren't even necessarily zoners:

Sub Zero - Jumping back all the time doing clones mixed with run in throws.

Cyber Sub Zero - Jump back dive kicksthat I don't know how to punish yet mixed with Ice balls that seem alot safer than it should. But I guess I just don't know this matchup yet

I probably shouldn't get beat by those but zoners I have a hard time with are:

Leatherface (Pretty Lady) - Blocking the chainsaws have alot of block stun :/

Kitana (Mournful) - Self explanatory

Hmm I'm sure there were others just can't think right now but yeah those come to mind.

It's character balance, whether or not tarkatan is too easy to keep away, time will tell.

How much damage does this combo do if you dont end with the 1+3?
I mean, if you cancel the rekka you can vortex and choose to go for the 6 % chip damage or a safe mixup for potentially more damage
Usually not finishing the rekka makes you lose 2-4% but in this case this, you'd have to use 214 instead of the second f134 because the second one launches.

its about delaying the NjP till as late as you more or less can, then inputting the run by the time before you hit the ground, and then following up the U3 with F134 as quickly as possible, its easy to leave it too late, but its not too hard once you know your timing

I've got an update coming to the guide however, and I'll be including that the easy alternative to this is after the NjP, just do RC, B1, 214~XStrike for 36%

Yea I was doing that one or rc u3, f134 tail snag for 36% as well. And it left them in perfect 50/50 position but im gonna try the 37% one again when I get home

i default to the easy one when playing online, i feel that 1% extra is the very last thing that I need to perfect about the character, I'm still working on the right buttons at the right time as it stands

Yeah im still getting used to him period. I'm not comfy with my punishes and things of that nature. Gotta break the bad habit of doing 112 rekka , rekka 1 , into grab as a punish lost a ton of matches because I was doing that and getting 15% lol. Also we should maybe start up a matchup thread. See if anyone has any idea how to deal with pretty lady, spectral/mystic ermac and A list Johnny

Okay, gaps or no gaps, this character lol.

If they're looking for the gaps then you can wreck them with the safe timing. If they respect you then you're plus. If you hit them you can confirm it with a massive corner carry or stop it and be +15. While, the 50/50's are whiff punishable they can be made safe on block and have raaaaaaange. He has mix-ups, a reset, a solid njp, a half decent d2, armoured wake-ups, etc. I haven't met one person that's been able to handle this character with anyone other than their main. The mind games and shit that you can do with Tark are godlike and this is the variation with gaps lol. I don't even wanna know what Acidic can do or what Konjurer has hidden.

That could just as easily be worded "if you put gaps in their they can wreck you with armor". Regardless, you are forgetting that you can option select out the gaps if you take the time to lab it tho

hes pretty nice but hes got holes in his game to balance out his strengths. One thing I will say tho is his D2 is alright frame wise but has a really bad verticle hitbox

Tark is the best free imo. Aliens frame data is not so good without the godlike rekkas. Also since our set I've put in a ton of time into Tarkatan too and he'll probably end up my new main along with Cyrax. Predator is dead.

I really wanna say it's more of a risk for the other guy. I haven't played one person that's just consistently armouring out - and this is AFTER I've explained the frame data to people. All you have to do is touch a guy and then you walk them to the corner and they have to sit there and see what you're going to do.

He's wrecked dude. He just obliterates everything in his path with his toolset. I always said that Imposter was a character that didn't care about how any other character played and I'm starting to think Tarkatan is a very similar character.

I'm willing to hear it, but you are going to have give me some sort of explanation of how using a completely risk free option select for gap punishing any possible gap, is riskier than trying to land 2x 3frame links in a row (which is what a safe on block, gapless Rekka is and thats against characters with an 8f punish). Otherwise, I'm going to go with the very plausible theory that your opponents are not punishing your gap because they haven't labbed it.
