Tremor mains be like...

I couldn't agree more... after the up rock nerf, I see the same thing come out of that damn ketchup colored tin man that breaks armor, is seemingly faster and homing for a bar. I play tremor for certain MU's but I feel for true Tremor mains. NRS gave them coal for Christmas and gave Sektor a bag of diamonds...

doesn't break armor, good try tho

not nearly as BS as tremor's either because Tremor has better knockdowns to set it up

It doesn't? I really thought the hits that fast would break armor, oops. But the only set ups that were useful were in the corner. Even playing against Tremor I didn't find his rock drop setups nerf worthy... Plus his MB version wasn't homing forcing you to block at some point. I think once someone like Ketchup really fleshes it out and dissects it completely the setup potential will be even greater.

...how is it the character with 4 variations... is the 1st character where I feel EVERY variation is useful? I haven't played the other KP2 characters so maybe all their respective variations follow suit
I agree 1000%. Other than CSZ, there's isn't a huge gap between the other variations. This is a complete character. I just hope NRS doesn't nerf them to hell lol

My favorite variation atm is Sektor.
Purely because:
a. I love Sektor. He was my main in MK9 so I'm sticking with him in XL
b. His F212 back dash restand string is FUCKING AMAZING!!!

He very much suits my rushdown + mixup style, even though Sektor is supposed to be a more zoning character; he performs very well close up and with his mixup game he dominates.

His F212 string is also INCREDIBLE. It sets up so many situations and allows me to either zone out my opponent, recover from the string if blocked and retaliate back, or setup for combos or mixup situations.
This new string is by far my favorite in the game, and its the BIGGEST reason why I find Sektor so good.

I don't think Sektor is the best, per-say; he's the best variation for ME personally but I'm not yet sure if he is the best overall (I'm more leaning towards Cyrax when it comes to being the best). This is just personal preference and that's all it leads up to and kind the whole purpose of MKX's variation system - our preference.
TL;DR I find Sektor the best for me since he has his amazing F212 string, but its yet to be final who is the best variation overall.

Is there really that big of a gap, if any, between CSZ and Cyrax, Sektor, and Smoke? What separates him? Cyrax for example has the hard-to-blockables, the restand, and crazy damage even on day 2. Sektor does better fullscreen and has a restand + those psycho up-missiles.

You mean other than CSZ being equipped with a drone to buff his moves, dive kick thats a overhead and deadly unblockables in the corner?

I can't see why CSZ is better than Cyrax, his hard to blockable setups are far too inconsistent and few as opposed to his counterpart, and the damage is lower as well.

Any pin point examples of what CSZ does better? Divekick into bomb is useless since you can't jail anyone to stand in it if they have half a brain. You can't shoot bombs in a combo that has freeze in it, as opposed to Cyrax.
Instead Cyrax gets hard to blockables on every net.

So what am I missing? The other moveset is identical so......
His keepaway is extremely good imo.

If you play a character that needs to get in like Bo Rai Cho, Jacqui[not full auto], etc.. he's a bitch. His F2 knocks you back fullscreen, where he gets a free bomb, once he has bomb you have to be weary of the divekick pseudo unblockable at any point.

B2 being cancellable allows him to cancel his recovery frames into iceball or bomb allowing him to startup his nonsense quicker. And once you're in, he can still control characters like Jacqui with F1 and F4 advancing normals. Sometimes it feels like your only option is to jump in because he controls ground so well, and standing 4 beats nearly every jump in kick and punch in the game because it seems to shrink his hitbox. And its easily confirmed into combo.

That's where I think he shines so much more than Cyrax. He can keepaway pretty hard against non-zoning characters if he wants.

I agree 100% no armor is an issue and he has the lowest damage or at least it seems that way now. He will likely prove to be weaker than the other robots. He is very straight forward, has a vortex, has to spend meter to be plus in his pressure, no armor, mediocre damage. It seems like kind of a lazy designed character tbh, he doesn't have great anything but he has a vortex so paulo just went with it lol.
Ehhh his damage isn't bad. He gets mid 30s for a bar or ~28% with a reset.

starter~ex tele, njp, 4~bf1, ji1, 4~db1, f43~db4

starter~db1(ex if necessary), njp, RUN~4, 4~bf1, ji1, 3~df3

Corner damage is low 40s.

CSZ is a god. The other 3 bots are pretty even with one another, still give cyrax an edge over smoke and sektor

Man doing take into Ex charge on block is godlike

The charge is -15 but can have a hearty amount of pushback

But his F212 backslash strung seems really good now till everybody realises they can option select armour before the back dash if their armour us 11 frames or under

Same here, I also love his F212 string is sweet, it offers pushback guaranteed which is a BIG advantage for him because it puts him in automatic zoning position again lol which Iove. His missiles are fast, he's very similar to MK 9 though I keep hitting Back, Forward 2 instead of D, D 3 in my head with the damn flamethrower argghh. I also love his 212 string as well, and his jump ins can be mixed with high into low or high, high which are great mix ups into his teleport.

He may not be the best borg for resets, crazy damage or set ups etc but he's easily the least gimmicky and best for zoning by far of the 4 cyborgs and possibly KP2 in general if not the entire game.

1. Cyber Sub
2. Cyrax
3. Sektor
4. Smoke

Based on damage, mixups, and what i can see about their neutral games.
what mix-ups can you do with Sektor? i went to the lab for a total of 2 hours just to get a feel of his combos, it didnt seem like he has good mix-ups, basically ending all his combos into up rockets for pressure/zoning, i guess you can rush after the up rockets but do what then?

Don't forget that CSZ also has an armored move, which is like the only thing Cyrax lacks I think.

Who actually has armor faster than 11 frames other than the EX slide charactes tho?

Sektor can cancel his b3u4 into teleport or meterburn his b1, 2+4 on hit. Oh is safe, and the low can be hitconfirmed into his charge on block to make it a little safer. Both b1 and b3 are guaranteed after a blocked up-missile, this is easiest to setup in the corner, but ending combos in 21xxup missile leaves them close enough to do a quick run and get it midscreen (this breaks armor if done fast enough)

those are CSZ's tools yes, but keep in mind Cyrax has the same unblockables midscreen and continuous, higher damage, and a safe special to hitconfirm into. Sektor gets good damage meterlessly, has a restand, and has the uprockets to augment his zoning and give setups. CSZ's tools are good, but they don't outshine the other robots.

neat, looks like i made the right choice choosing Sektor
