You shouldn't be buying fighters on PC anyway. Sorry your market is niche, you can say business your ass but tough decisions must be made, not to mention nothing has even been said about continued support, so wait till a statement is made and enjoy this run on sentence
i shouldnt have bought it on PC cuz its fighter! well if they said they might have limited support for future content and a horrible port for it i wouldnt consider it in first place, but let me guess its business business business

and im patiently waiting, who said im not? [i said IF. open those eyes please, if there is any]

business business business is all i see in your posts! last time i checked i bought games for entertainment not to hear from different people they didnt support their own game on X platform cuz its better for business business business. with all due respect business my ass

there needs to be a line, you dont do everychoice solely on business, clearly they have some sucker

they didnt say anything about horrible online for months, ill be surprised if they say anything on this
I'm not saying I agree with what they are doing, if in fact they don't have plans to bring this content to the PC platform. All I'm saying is it's not like NRS are just blatantly saying "fuck you" to PC gamers, it's just that there can be other issues that drive that choice in the first place. It is annoying that we can't get a response one way or another, but there is also the fact that maybe NRS are still weighing up whether or not they want to bring this content to PC, they would have a lot of things to factor in (time, money, actual demand from the community and yes unfortunately, how profitable the choice is.) Like I said I want this content on PC, but I can also understand why it wouldn't come to PC, I'm just hoping others can understand that too.

Are we entitled this have this content on all platforms?
Probabaly, we paid full price for a triple A release and then DLC on top of that, so it seems fair that people on all platforms should get the full experience if they want it and not be forced to swap platforms just to get what everyone else has.

Yes I suppose not EVERY choice is made out of what is best for the company financially but like I said you don't go throwing away money, that's just dumb.

Seriously, shut the hell up with this "you shouldn't buy fighters on pc" bullshit. It may be a "niche market" but it sure as hell has been supported by other companies. Look at USF4. This shitty attitude of "nrs can fuck me in the ass and I'm ok with it because business" is complete shit and the reason why they think they can just walk all over the pc community.

We spent just as much money as everyone else on the game and deserve to get the same support. If you don't hold companies accountable they will not go out of their way to satisfy you. Nothing about this is ok! Or ever will be! And people need to stop blaming the victim and pretending like this shit will continue to fly!

If they don't continue to support the game on pc me and tons of others will never touch another NRS game again! I'm perfectly fine playing SF5 when it comes out. A game actually with equal support on its pc version. Amazing right?

i agree with your comment but its not dumb to support those that supported you in first place no matter how small they are

on the other hand, why the fuck would you release the game on a certain platform then give a huge "fuck you, we're not gonna support it anymore" to its owners at the first place, it's pointless

and by the way, esl cis is played on pc, why would they decide to shut down the entire competitive platform for the whole region

100% agree with your comment, you read my mind and heart

We may not be ok with it, but there's nothing we can do beyond making it very appealing for them to invest into us further for "business business" reasons.

To be honest, I can't imagine PC community being so small that it's not even profitable to support a platform that isn't even that different from current gen consoles, even though they support the game in general. That, and steam apparently having something in its DB, gives me hope.

Then again, those may be leftovers from when there were plans to support the game, and WB has a habit of saving on literally everything.

and by the way, esl cis is played on pc, why would they decide to shut down the entire competitive platform for the whole region
It's not like they will miss us. After all, most of that region doesn't even pay full price for the game on Steam.
The region got forced onto a platform that most of tournament players here don't even own or respect, and got smaller invitation quotas as well, so...

There's like one company that does good RTS games, definitely nothing like it was, say, in 1994 when everyone and their mom were trying to get a piece of RTS cake. MMORPG are also past its glory days, I believe - they still appeal to certain type of gamers, but they don't evolve anymore even at the pace of other genres, I feel it's dead end at this point. "MOBA" is the only thing going for PC platform currently, I'm afraid, and I'll leave it at that.
There are also very niche markets like flight sims, but they are so tiny I'm genuinely surprised they exist at all, but then again, how many of them are being supported right now besides DCS? Like zero?

PC FGs haven't seen better days, I can agree, but let's see. WB/NRS were ones that you can sell FGs on PC, yet they are coping out right now (possibly).

Arcsys consistently deliver their stuff to Steam, but they do so with 2 year lag. Xrd was their first game they ported to PC before it was hopelessly obsolete, but it still wasn't the latest instalment at that point. Seeing how people who tried Xrd are either dropping it or fleeing to consoles doesn't paint bright future.

Team Ninja dropped PC support even before they finished the game (their shitty policy of selling a fucking skin pack for 3 times a price of a game itself, unfinished at that, doesn't work with the hardest platform to police, who could've guessed?).

Upcoming KI release is only there as a push towards Win10 (which I am not installing on the system that has anything of value in its memory, in fact anything at all besides KI; fuck you Microsoft and your glorified piece of malware) just like how its initial release was supposed to sell Xbox One. They don't care otherwise, but thankfully at least IG do.

Amazingly, this leaves us with SFV.

We'll see, but I'm afraid the FG fad ends here just like it started, abruptly.

But hey, on the bright side, we have all that turd written by schoolkids in their free time amazing indie market!
idk The most viewed games are all pc games on twitch, and its not just dota or lol

This sort of thing happens all the time, developers release on as many platforms as possible, because A) It gives consumers more choice as to the platform they play on and B) it makes more money for them.

It's not uncommon to see certain platforms just get ditched completely after a time. I don't know that it's the case with MKX because I believe it sold incredibly well, (although I don't know the percentage of sales that came from the PC platform) but if sales aren't great and the active player base isn't huge then they might not think it's worth the time and money to keep it going.

It could also potentially do with how well KP1 did on PC, but this is all just hypothetical stuff. Looking at Steam right now MKX isn't even on the top 99 games being played (not surpsising I know but) and the last entry on that list is Elite: Dangerous with 3000 peak players, so it's pretty safe to assume that active players for MKX on PC is probably in the range of 1000 - 2500 or something around there, which isn't a whole lot in the big scheme of things. The percentage of people in that ~2000ish people that will actually purchase KP2 is a mystery too.

I'll say it once more:

I do not agree with the fact that the PC version of MKX might not get KP2 and EO.

but:

I understand the reasons why it could happen, just trying to have a healthy discussion, I really really want this content to come to our platform.

God Confirm

We're all from Earthrealm. If not, cool pic brah.
God damn, can y'all wait until KP2 is out for anybody before we start with the pitchforks?
Must you white knight NRS in EVERY thread? People are just looking for an easy answer here

You do what you want. I just don't see the point. And you can call me passive aggressive for trolling up your thread but really neither of us is accomplishing anything.
If you don't see the point, then don't post. We do see a point to asking NRS and voicing our opinions has been proven to accomplish stuff in the past - the fact that we even have beta on console at all is probably in part due to people doing just that.

BLAH.

Ok, let me just take back the dying thing and change it to this:

PC gaming is a niche market, with a handful of exceptional games with large player bases. Console gaming is the target for cross platform games with the data to prove it has more than 10x the player base. You can buy a cross platform game on PC, but dont be surprised if it turns out to be a ported pile of shit, with only a few thousand people playing. Be smart, and buy the games meant for console, on a console. The bitching about ported games is unfounded. You all should know better.
PC gaming as a whole is bigger today than it ever has been, as for competitive gaming the size of it absolutely dwarfs consoles, and as for gaming quality there is no comparison. Bad Ports can happen but they are usually fixed in the first week or two, comparing standard of quality in any other manner PC wins by a large margin, and that's before mentioning the modding scene.

Pretty much exactly this ^^ it's not even like complaining about DLC or something, we aren't entitled to that by any means, this however is the update to the NetCode we were promised and payed full price for 9 months ago, that they are just now acknowledging needs help - if they skimp out of PC for it that is just disgusting. WB has no ethics.

I think PC will get KP2 tho. All the characters already designed, that's easy money.

Brack1sh

Chimpanzee that!
If they had something to say they clearly would have said it already. Obviously they'd have to wait for an official announcement for something like this but even a "You'll hear more about this at ESL/KombatKast" would be appreciated...

The player base alone is enough to show you where customer loyalties lie: Back in November, Black Ops 3 average players playing peaked at 60,000 for PC, while PS4 at the same time peaked at 800,000. Battlefront currently peaks at 100,000 users on PS4 while PC has 11,000.

The numbers are very telling. Now add in the crazy amount of hackers, and the cost to build a gaming rig...why the fuck do you think kids go with consoles?
different market
if you want to play FPS the right way on pc there's CS:GO
http://steamcharts.com/app/730

same will apply to pc fighting games
pc may just not be the right platform for mkx altough not releasing content is a bit of an aggressive strategy

It's sad, I've put 95% of my mkx hours in the (now after a decent amount of patches) PC port
stayed with HVS crap, tearing, fps drop, memory leaks up until the game became GORGEUS just to see the features I would have loved from the start to never reach steam
even right after the online experience got even better with the fps benchmark required for online play which separated potatoes from actual rigs

my hopes are that with the upcoming microsoft's changes in windows, Xone games can be played on pc too which may be the only logical explanation to the silence (at least they did announce the axe on 360/ps3 versions of the game)

CS:GO isnt a cross platform game. That's why I didnt mention it.

The average gamer's mom buys them fucking COD every year, and it gets massive numbers, and massive sales. Millions care about COD, even if people like you and me dont.

Update on what I said about Steam stats for MKX: http://puu.sh/mCUm4/43cf5ca233

Around ~1000ish players on PC, so even less than I originally though. It's entirely possible NRS doesn't think ~1000 people is worth the time to develop for PC anymore.

Update 2: Looking at the stats a bit more it can fluctuate between about ~1000 to ~2000 players on any given day so I was fairly spot on, most days seem to be around ~1000 players though.

still, PC players wouldn't care about cod a/o battlefront
these kind of games cater to a consolized world where the big portion plays casually
consoles play cod because let's be real even if it's the same game every year it's like the only FPS worth some time there

on PC you have a whole 30+ years of FPS of all kinds

the same applies to fighters and so mkx
I believe sf and fightcade is where the action is at
same concept
