Name your top 5 MKX Characters in order & List one hypothetical Nerf for each

1) Lao, Tempest. Hat sucks in on block providing full combos
2) Shinnok BS/Impostor. Make D4 Hellsparks no longer a TBS, Change F4 To 9 frames.
3) Quan Summoner. Make Bat a mid, Change NJP to 8/9 frames, and less push back
4) Tanya. (Prepare for this one) Make B1 a mid, and Rekka Delay time shorter
5) Tremor. Make F1 A little slower, however revert it back to a mid, and make 2 a bit faster.

Anyway, enough of me harassing misinformed opinions, here's what I would do:

Quan Chi: Summoner bat hard coded so if already used in a combo, can't be summoned again until the combo is over.

Kung Lao: Blocked Hat Spin on first impact animation adjusted so that regular Hat Spin is more negative, and is unable to recover in time to block an armored reversal after a non-jailing blockstring into EX Hat Spin

Tanya: B1 2+4 in Kobu Jutsu no longer jails into Tonfa Swipe on block, B1D2 -13 on block

Predator: HQT laser cancels now have properties as other traditional run cancellable specials

Liu Kang: Cancel advantage of F213 reduced by 4 frames and regular Fireball cancel window increased by 2 frames (I would also recommend reducing the recovery of EX Shaolin Flame and Metamorphosis in Flame Fist and Dualist respectively to ensure they aren't further fucked over by this)

Tempest Lao - Give his ExHat Spin enough cooldown so he can't loop any stings into it except for 112124 else the hat won't return in time. This would loosen up his pressure a bit without killing it. Also make normal Hat Spin around -5/6 so he's not completely punishable in most MU's but his turn is over.

Summoner Quan - Unblockables need to be removed in some way, whether making his low bat mid or increasing the universal unblockable protection to around 6 frames so all the casts' hard-to-blockables are removed. Also needs more damage scaling on all bat attacks.

Dragon's Fire Poon-Tang - Needs some frames adjusting, specifically MBFlyKick and 111, which are both currently +2.

Kobu Tanya - Make B1 a high and my life would be complete.

Tremor - His overhead rock throw thing needs to go away on hit or something. This shit just makes me salty as hell.

And lastly some Quan stuff...

- Make EX Rune +7
Just my 2 cents but this would hurt him too much imo. If MbRune were to ever be nerfed he would need it to be at least +9 so he can jail a D3, then it's still a guessing game pretty heavily in Quan's favour considering he's spending a bar.

I thought this before too but the more I think about it the better of an idea I think it is. It wouldn't hurt his true mixup game cause that comes from B2/B3 and if you're catching people with low bat, besides hard-to-blockables, it's probably MU unfamiliarity anyway. It should still have the same amount of blockstun so he can make his meterless mixups safe and do his pseudo-blockstrings if your opponent has no meter.

Ok first of all can everyone stop with the nerfing D4~hell sparks? Pick something that's actually making Bone Shaper itself harder to deal with instead of nerfing his other variations for no reason. This is part of the reason Necromancer got worse. Does noone want F41D2 to be unsafe maybe? Dark beam to start up/recover slower? Guize pls think of Necro #BuffNecro2k16
He has mediocre damage to offset the amazing utility, you can make all his strings safe with hell sparks, or hell even butter gun since it pushes them so far back that it is impossible for most characters to punish him, and those that do punish him don't get much damage off it.

But for realsies you keep talking about his "utility" like it's the best in the game but could you actually explain what you mean exactly by that? What is he utilising that in your opinion is sooo good? I mean I know he has one safe string, good anti-airs, etc but the way you're talking about him implies he has a multitude of tools people aren't looking at or something. You cannot make your strings safe with hell sparks, you can make your strings safe with MB hell sparks which adds to my point about him being so meter heavy. Gun is -12 now so if you try and use that to make your strings safe you're getting punished, even if it is just with a poke. Pokes have enough hit advantage in this game that you have to hold followup pressure so it's not worth it. Bone Shaper has always been overrated imo, it's definitely good don't get me wrong but bloody hell people jumped on that bandwagon really hard just to fail to prove their point lol. Funnily enough the only person that's done anything with the variation is the one person who's considered the downplayer of it! TYM: calling people who main someone a downplayer because they understand the character's tools better. Never change guys :')

Reason: he shouldn't get to cancel in to hat spin from anything, and be safe on block or hitconfirm into a combo.

Annnnd that just sends him into mediocre tier. I agree -3 might be a tad excessive especially since a lot of Lao players aren't afraid to d4 after a blocked hat spin but making it full combo punishable, with the way MKX works is equally excessive.

takeda is a bitch with his setups, but you can actually backdash/armor/jump/run out of his vortex and i have to make a correct read in you doing so ^^
also it requires a bar of meter ;)

i literally have no options vs quan but block (and get hit) once he get's me with the trance :/

I know, I'm not gonna start an argument on who's is worse cause obviously it's Quan lol. Takeda's are still hella dirty though, you just get one extra opportunity to escape than Quan's vortex but even that is a read cause he can let the Kunai's go if you try to jump out and convert into big damage. Quan is definitely worse though.

I agree that summoner needs a nerf but making low bat a mid makes no sense.. Might as well remove it altogether.

I disagree, he still has stagger pressure with 112124. The Lao player really should be hitconfirming into hat spin, not just throwing it out all the time then if it hits "Oh boy, it hit! Time to 4,4". It would only be full combo punishable in a block string where he cancels into it, but on knockdown if he puts the hat spin out the then the opponent get up into it he wouldn't be punishing it because Lao can still move.

I'm not sure why he'd be mediocre tier, he can still combo off of the hat spin. Mind expanding on your thought? I'm no Lao main but I'd like to know.

8-9 second cool down on hat after using ex hat orbit

Reason: removes brain dead endless meter building/pressure/chip

Promotes better play

2. Tanya Kobu
Must commit to delayed rekka for all or fast rekka for all
(Although b1 should be a high and not 9f i.e.: raiden, tremor, Erron)

Reason: Removes endless well of possibilities of pressure offense w little consequence

Forces better play

3. Quan Chi summoner
When summoning bat and having opponent in trance at same time the bat summon releases you but Quan is +2

Reason: keeps him plus but release the opponent further releasing insane near unblockable loops that not one person likes in the game other than Quan mains


4. Cassie Cage Hollywood
212d1+2 string is -11

Reason: gives her a string finally entire cast can punish. Oh my god she now has a consequence (can make safe w ex flip )

5. Liu Kang dragon Fire
DF cancels have adjusted frames to make not as + (currently don't have his xx frames memorized by @Derptile can help) more interested in what derptile would recommend

Reason: No one likes Kabal and no one like this crap

Have to disagree on the quan chi nerf.
Cus 1) it'll kill his dmg. I don't mind him loosing unblockable but not dmg too.
2) honestly believe the unblockable is only insane online, other wise with practice you can block it everytime. At least I can

you could like... make a read read in those cases? if I guess wrong I wasted my meter or get a full combo punished, while if you guess wrong you either get pressure or actually get punished for like 25 percent with 1 bar... and that's always WHEN he has meter, because he is also the most meter dependent character in the game.

plus I can react to it, so I don't even have to make a read, use the lab guys! (for punishing HLs I mean)

no because you can react to people unblocking since that mb is insanely leaniant and gives you a lot of time to mb, and i could argue some other characters that are either just as or more meter dependant than shinnok, im not denying that meter is very very important to his game
