You would get off at Grand Central (42nd Street East Side), from there you would take the number 6 train in the downtown direction (you will get off at BLEECKER street). You're going to get off the 6 train and transfer to the F/M train going just 1 stop (Delancy/Essex Street) and then you walk to the place from there or i can probably get you at the train station if im there in time

@MrInsaynne @SaltShaker
Please tell me:
What stop would I be getting off of?
And what would be my directions from there?
http://as0.mta.info/mnr/schedules/sched_form.cfm

I won't be able to make it tomorrow but if this will be weekly I should be ok to attend next thursday.
Yea it's a weekly every Thursday.

What time can you leave? It's says from Dansbury to Grand Central you have two options. Leaving Dansbury station 3:17PM to arrive at Grand Central 5:17PM, or leaving 5:17 to arrive 7:21. From Penn Station it'll take you about a half hour or so to get to the venue. Short walk to the F train, short ride, short walk to venue.

So with the first trip you'll arrive at the venue itself about 6 to play casuals, the tourney, and then more casuals after. The second trip you'll reach about 8pm a little before the tourney, play in tourney, play casuals on side machines and after.

There weren't any other reasonable options outside of those two times.

EDIT: Didn't know you could take the 6 train. That'll probably save you some extra minutes from your location when you get off than walking to the F.

I'd have to take the 5:17.

So I'd take the number 6 all the way to the brooklyn bridge, then hop on the F/M train to Delancy/Essex Street. From Delancy/Essex, I'd walk to the place?

I'm guessing the tourney would take around 2 hours? And looking at that website I'd be taking the 11:26pm from grand central back to danbury? So then I'd have to leave the venue around 10ish to make it to Grand Central in time?

Thanks for the help you two.

No prob man. It doesn't take that long from Grand Central to the venue and vice versa. If you have to catch the 11:26pm you can leave like 10:30 if you wanna play it safe and monitor how long it took you to get back to Grand Central, but you'll probably get to the station with a few minutes to spare.

Sorry, have to edit my comment. Take the 6 train to BLEECKER street, transfer to the F/M train and get off at Delancey/Essex street from there. 11:26 train you will definitely make it in time. I'll assure you of that.

Alright so what ticket would I be buying? Round trip for Danbury-Grand Central? Then I buy a separate ticket when I take the 6 and F/M trains? Is the 6-F/M ticket round trip too?

EDIT: When does the tourney start and finish? I"d enter MKx but might be also try UMvC3

You might wanna compare prices since your return trip won't be during peak hours. Either a peak round trip or one peak single and one regular single. Whichever route is cheaper.

You can use a MTA machine in the train stations to put $5.50 on a nyc metro card that will disperse from it, and will give you enough fare to and from the venue from the nyc train lines.

The website says that it's all off peak.

And it'll only cost 5.50 to travel within NYC?!?! Way cheaper than I thought.

Ok so ~$23 for the round trip. 5.50 for the NYC metro card. $20 to enter MKx and venue fee. Around $50 total not counting food or any extra spending. (For anyone in a similar situation.)

Thanks.

Yea depending on departing locations the round trips will be slightly different prices, but mostly around that range. And yea the nyc Metrocard you'll only need $5.50 because it'll take you to the venue, cover any transfer, and return you to Grand Central within a short ride. There's a couple of spots for food right in the area, like a store across the street. It's a pretty easy trip train wise compared to other locations.

No prob man any time. Hope to see you soon! If I lose to your Predator I'll challenge you in Tekken. :DOGE

I'm trying to see if i can make it, I get out of class @ 5:40.. & I go to lehman, might take me at least an hour..

Sounds like you can make it! I'll be coming from the Bronx too. I'm gonna get there a little early myself, around 6 6:15 today.

So the plan is to keep the weekly contained in this one thread?

I might be bringing a friend!!! He is getting into fighters but I don't know how much he's developed lol. If he does come I hope this helps him really dive into it!!!

Yea pretty much so it doesn't get too messy or mixed around.

Nice! It does get addicting lol. Best way to develop as a player is things like this.

Yeah if everything works out I'm hoping this really helps me reach another level. I do pretty fine online but I can feel that glass ceiling that is NRS and networking.

Oh there's no hoping. It'll definitely help you level up playing here. Then you'll go back home to play online and say "wtf is this garbage"? and be ready to come back lol.
