Jump in punch Block Bug

I can still see somebody losing though if they happen to jump in punch then hold down and block afterwards... and the jip happens to be deep. It might not be the best decision to make, but seeing as it can cost a round makes this complete BS.
i am just saying how many times have you jump and do the jump punch in the last frames of the jump animation knowing the punch is not going to hit anybody because there is nobody there and right after it duck and block?

even the worst player out there will not do a late JIP when he knows it will not hit anybody is not like players jump a projectile and do JIP when there is nobody there to get hit

Why are you excusing this bug? What if you jump toward someone, go for a deep punch, they back up and now you need to block? The OP says it's been a problem for him and others have noticed it as well, so obviously it's causing problems for someone.

The good thing about this bug is that it's consistent. You can reproduce it every time without fail, meaning that you can take steps to avoid it.

This could totally happen in a real match, too.

example:

you cross up your opponent who remains crouching. You throw a late jump in punch otherwise it will whiff over their head. But, they successfully use a low crush attack to avoid your jump in punch. Bam, crouch blocking bug.

It can happen quite often, actually.

Why are you excusing this bug? What if you jump toward someone, go for a deep punch, they back up and now you need to block? The OP says it's been a problem for him and others have noticed it as well, so obviously it's causing problems for someone.
Note. Why will I way to the last frames of my jump to do the punch when a earlier jip hit crouching opponents as well?

I m not excusing the bug it sux that it is in the game but what I m saying is the bug is not a problem that will get you to lose matches


If this causing problems to other player out there I apologized for my last comment but I really do not think this is a big deal

I remember always getting hit by shit like reptiles dash after I whiff a JIP and then try to block. I always though it was because added recovery or something. Pretty fucking stupid... Thanks for posting this teef.

I agree with riu 48, i was at swiftomhanks house when we were discussing this bug, a jumping punch that deep will never hit connect anything because the hit will disappear as you are landing, this will never happen on a jumping punch that will land on the target, still there might be rare scenarios in which it may happen only if you by mistake press you punch button too late while landing which will be very seldom, i dont consider this game breaking but still is a must fix and shouldn't be in the game, soon people will start blaming this bug on some situations during tourneys and they will look bad if there is a recording of how high they did that jp, dont panic this doesnt break the game, good stuff reporting this xteefx hope they fix it soon it still a headache just having this in the game.

So, now after a whiffed deep jip wins the character who has a faster start-up move I presume? <----- solution for the bug right there

Important Note: TO everyone in here who is/are confused.

Do you know whats a jump in DEEP punch?
lets put this example of a regular hurtbox, lets say Kitana (Exclude Sheeva for this example).
Jump deep punch Starts From Opponent face, down tell you reach the ground. so as of hight, it starts from feet, up to the Face.
Jump deep punch is required by some certain characters due to the following Attack attribute. For example;

1- Kratos. to Link f+2 after a jump punch, the Jumping arc has to be DEEP! or else, f+2 will be blockable.

IF ! an early bird jump punch is preformed, meaning the punch starts and is pressed/ active frames from (As soon as the arc jump is done) >> (Tell above the head).
In that case, f+2 WONT CONNECT!

2- Same goes to kruegur. the jump punch has to be deep or else f+4,2,1 wont hit Connect*


So, jump deep punch doesnt mean that it's RIGHT before you reach the ground at all! it means it's active from the arc jump when the jump arc reaches opponent face >> or below. so the window to input your punch, form the face, down to the ground is called = " JUMP IN DEEP"

If you watch the vid carefully, you can see this example.
Watch @ moment 1 min: 45 Second.
or moment @ 1 min: 50 sec >> tell moment 1 min:53
or moment 1 min: 57 sec


the vid is just to show the concept, so if you paid attention, it varied with different timing just to show the capabilities/ and/or the bug itself ....ponit is to deliver an accurate explanation to the viewer

like KT Smith, this example HAPPENS easily after cross overs, specially if opponent lowered their hit boxes. havnt you ever notice that sometimes Mileena or sonya or reptile or Barak , when you cross up they do cr+4x2? the first one whiff, and the second one will hit you? while on paper, BOTH of you have a frame war advantage? " by means, the faster poke input, is the one that will get excuted"

not only that, THIS makes people cry a lot against reptile...JUST BECAUSE that instead of jump arcing with nothing, they jump arc with punch and then crouch block. simply reptile can quickly 2x Elbow dash.

to be honest, this Bug is NOT a Major threat! the reaosn is, high level play you wont see something like that and YOU WONT use something like that...BUT it happens! EVEN in majors as well in high level play. though you wont see it often.

Yeah I know it's not really a situation that will happen in matches but a stupid bug regardless. Btw the instances in which this happened to me are exclusive to online play.

I love having to work around bugs to play this game. It's like a game within a game!
I heard this analogy about things like this awhile back and I can't remember who said it so sorry if I'm not giving this person credit.

But it's like trying to cook in a frying pan with a pile of shit right in the middle of it. "Just cook around it." Well... I guess I could but there's still a pile of shit right in the middle of my frying pan.

OMG!! no wonder i get murdered by reptile's dash after i land from a jip..even though i anticipated the upcoming dash and i BLOCK!!!. This bug is super frustrating especially against reptile...i always blame it on online but gues i was wrong -_- -_- -_-

Have the same problem with that particular move more than anything else.
He runs right over me even if I know for a fact I'm blocking.

that example happens IF! reptile did the dash early....By means, any move done while in air, you will land and still have active recovery frame...whether kick or Punch. By means reptile doing multiple dashes.
the example ur refering too, i guess is escaping Cross ups situation with an elbow dahs and then punish when u land?
though a very late punch or kick Should not have that longer active frames? i think so...so basically shanter, that's not the reason why you got hit by the dash. You will get hit by the dash if u did any jump attack and then landed, IF it's an early bird attack (not jump deep)
in your situation, simply just Jump without any move. you will land and will be able to block Elbow dash.

not quite sure though, but that is reference from the tests i did...i think i am correct but will make more test and sure bout that
