I am like the blue rose
So, is Jax considered mid tier all of a sudden, or is there simply more work to be done?
This is the first time i got to look at the MU chart and i am curious to why there is no Dragon's Fire Liu Kang in the chart? I mean it is the better variation.Hello everyone. Team YOMI has been working together to put up a match up chart with the help of many players for the past two weeks. The match up chart below is our first draft of what we think could be the current match up numbers in the current and latest patch. None of these numbers are set in stone and are subject to change and always open for debate. If you spot any mistakes or spelling errors, please feel free to point them out and post them in this thread so we can fix them.
YOMI LIVING MATCH UP CHART (FIRST DRAFT) V1.0
Keep in mind we are also trying to use the most popular tournament variations to make things easier for now. More variations will be added in the future until we have each one.
For now enjoy and discuss. And if you have a question on why a match up is listed a certain way, don't hesitate to ask as I will try my best to appoint the player(s) to come in and explain why they feel that way.
The list is for the most popular tourney variations. This is the first time i got to look at the MU chart and i am curious to why there is no Dragon's Fire Liu Kang in the chart? I mean it is the better variation.
We will have every variation added soon. We're just waiting for some of them to become more fleshed out or for variation specialists to chime in.Will you guys consider changing/adding variations like Cutthroat Kano instead of Cybernetic?
All Kitana numbers came from SonicFox. He firmly believes Kitana does not lose to Quan Chi.also i am suprised that kitana is seen as a being even with all quan variations when quan out zones her and she can't take advantage of his poor wake up.
I agree. This tier chart will be forever living. If games like super smash bros melee have changing tier lists still i don't think mkx's tier list will ever be set in stone.
We aren't placing any characters in specific tier groups. If a character is in a certain ranking, it's because of their match ups compared to the rest of the cast. So, is Jax considered mid tier all of a sudden, or is there simply more work to be done?
I believe that sonic fox believes these numbers but I disagree with some of the evo camp's numbers. I could see Warlock being even but not the other two.I would love to hear his explanations on these match ups.We will have every variation added soon. Well, yes, but his overall +/- would indicate that he has been considerably overrated up to this point, according to YOMI. Adding up his overall +/- compared to others would place him firmly lower mid tier.We aren't placing any characters in specific tier groups. I accept your challenge coach..Xbox..SMStarGazer.I would love to play all you Kitana with Kano for experience. I don't think there is a character in the game that beats Kano 7-3 (maybe specific Variations may lose bad, but not all variations will lose 7-3 to anything)
I'm on PS4, Im pretty sure i'll buy my converter tomorrow, If I do, I'll renew my xbox live and we can play.I accept your challenge coach..Xbox..SMStarGazer.
Sounds good. Ill be waiting.I'm on PS4, Im pretty sure i'll buy my converter tomorrow, If I do, I'll renew my xbox live and we can play.
The only way for you to get around a high attack that is insanely negative on whiff is to EX armor through it? hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmThe only way for RS to get in is ex square wave
In my experience, mainly Mournful, Warlock kinda eats shit. He's all reads against the Reads Queen...*cough* Empress *Hold that*. Not saying its just horrible for him buuuuut.I believe that sonic fox believes these numbers but I disagree with some of the evo camp's numbers. I could see Warlock being even but not the other two.I would love to hear his explanations on these match ups.
He's not the best, and there are characters that do beat him or go 5-5. But yeah, he's pretty crazy.I know you said you haven't added all variations but dragon fire liu kang is arguably the best character in the game and the best variation so surely start with that not flamefist- i can tell you the match ups - 6/4 dragon fire vs everyone in the game maybe 5/5 against tempest lau but arguable
Erm you obviously haven't played a good dragon fire liu kang then - thus your statement. If you had you wouldn't have said that. But do enlighten me on who you think these characters that beat him are...!?He's not the best, and there are characters that do beat him or go 5-5. But yeah, he's pretty crazy.
Lmao I main Dragon's fire, and I've been telling people how broken he is since June.Erm you obviously haven't played a good dragon fire liu kang then - thus your statement. If you had you wouldn't have said that. But do enlighten me on who you think these characters that beat him are...!?
Jax actually struggles against flamefist for some reason. kun jin, Raiden, D'vorah, erron black and kano get destroyed by dragon fire. Kitana cant zone him because of his insta air fireballs and flying kick ex puts him right infront of here again to hold block for the rest of the match cuz when he's in he's in. Tanya maybe able to contend but again this is based on the players match up experience and the player themselves. Kung lau maybe 5/5 its debatable same with jax as all his mids are whiffed by LK d3 which +2 on B so you can pretty much mash that all game against jax.Lmao I main Dragon's fire, and I've been telling people how broken he is since June.
His hardest MUs are Jax and Shinnok and they both beat him for sure 6-4.
His 5-5 MUs are Kung Lao(might beat him), Kung Jin, Raiden, D'Vorah, Kitana, Tanya, and possibly Erron Black and Kano(though the last 2 have a bit more trouble).
I dunno if you've played each of those characters at the highest level because even though dragon's fire is very good when he gets to play his game(constant pressure and good zoning) but when he has to play other characters game he struggles because his defense and Footsies without RCs are pretty poor.Jax actually struggles against flamefist for some reason. kun jin, Raiden, D'vorah, erron black and kano get destroyed by dragon fire. Lol i play xarakamaka EVERYDAY thats why im saying what im saying. Liu kang doesnt let anyone play their game even more so than kung lau. The ex bicycle or flying kick means he can get in easily and you have to respect what he does next hence forth.I dunno if you've played each of those characters at the highest level because even though dragon's fire is very good when he gets to play his game(constant pressure and good zoning) but when he has to play other characters game he struggles because his defense and Footsies without RCs are pretty poor.
Maybe @xarakamaka can give some insight.
I think you're supposed to look at it as if both characters are being played at the highest level possible. Looking at all tools of each character and comparing them.Jax actually struggles against flamefist for some reason. kun jin, Raiden, D'vorah, erron black and kano get destroyed by dragon fire. Yes but i haven't really seen tanya played at the highest level yet which is why i can't really make a call on that- so its up for debate until that day comes..I think you're supposed to look at it as if both characters are being played at the highest level possible.
