How to do tier lists:

Don't do them until the game has been out long enough for people to actually understand the matchups.

Not saying I agree or disagree with his placings, everyone has their own, but some things are obvious. It's obvious Lao is really good. It's obvious Goro is really bad. Yomi guys have made two tier list and will make a 3rd post patch. Pig made one the first month of the game. Did you make the same comment in their threads?

I don't see what's wrong with speculating where characters are at the time of playing the game. Some are better than others, some aren't, and it makes for pretty good discussion when talking with the right people about it imo.

The tier list is gonna have to be by variations. Tier lists are also based on match-ups, not necessarily how good a character is. No one has yet to come up with a legit tier list.

Im tired of seeing the numerical tier lists this game cannot be decided by numeric tier lists as a lot of the characters are really fucking similar so here is how to make a tier list this also assumes a characters best variation is being used. Keep in mind this is in no particular order.

Jax (arguably s but for now hes a+)

Ight I'm back home. Had some drinks so beer with me (see what I did? I made a funny -.- )

Basically I agree with a some of the grouping, with a few exceptions. But nobodies listings are 100% identical to mine so that makes sense. Only things I would "strongly" disagree with is that Liu is too high literally sitting between Shinnok and Lao, Kitana is too low, and a few more characters need to be with Jacqui and Takeda.

What I think has to change is your lettering. You have everyone in A tier and up outside of Goro, Takeda, and Jacqui. This isn't Tekken level balance lol. You know how good a character has to be to be considered A tier? There's no way possible characters like Reptile, Kotal, and Kenshi are A Tier. Just like there aren't 8 S Tier characters. An S Tier character is Kabal and Cyrax of MK9, or MMH of Inj. For example, in Injustice it is likely that MMH was the only S tier character, with Batgirl, Flash, Zod, and Aquaman being A+ Tier. Maybe one or two can also be considered S, but not all of them. By your lettering, you're basically saying 25 characters in this game, all except for 3, are either as good or better than Superman, Sinestro, and Bane were in Injustice. This would mean that characters like Kotal, Kenshi, Johnny, and Ferra/Torr can win fully stacked majors solo without having uphill battles when playing Lao's QC's, Predator's and Raiden's.

Depending on how big you think the gaps are between brackets of characters, it should be some sorting of that looks like-

S Lao, some other person or two
A+ Cassie, a few characters.
A Jax and a couple.
A- Kung Jin and a few.
B+ Ermac etc

B- Johnny etc
C Takeda and a few

D Solo Goro

It should be categorized more like that for a better idea of where characters are balanced. Unless you believe 25 characters are Superman level and up then that would be a completely different convo altogether lol.

First you said he's not S or A tier, but you placed him in A. Lol.

IMO, he's still A+ material. The nerfs didn't knock him down that low in the tier list.

Anyway I'm just joking. People are always gonna debate tiers in a fighting game, I've been playing long enough to know that's never gonna change.

Matchups evolve over time. Stuff that seems good now will be useless in a year.

I mean it's already happened in the first few months. Remember when "OMG SAFE 50/50's" was all anyone talked about? And now the top tiers are filled with characters who don't have 50/50's because the players evolved and started opening people up with safe pressure and chip.

I say just let the meta evolve and spend your time studying matchups instead of theorizing what characters are better than others.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm spending the rest of today grinding the Boneshaper matchup so I can practice against Wound. I could sit here and complain about how good Boneshaper is but I'd rather just improve as a player. Carry on.

Well you seem to pay enough attention to them to post in their threads every time they come up, by your own admission.

While that's true, MU's evolve, characters don't not always move without patching changing them. Bane for example moved way up due to patches, so it would be wrong to say people were inaccurate saying he sucked before the patching. Black Adam moved way down after nerfs, it would be inaccurate to say people were wrong when they called him Top 2. Aquaman was Top 5 Day 1 and remained Top 5 until the end. There are countless examples of people being right early on, and in predictable games like MKX it's that much easier to see who is good and who isn't.

How has that changed much? How many top tier characters "don't have 50/50's" compared to how many that do?? Lol. The only thing that really changed is it going from "the Top 10 is filled with 50/50's" to "the Top 10 is filled with 50/50's and heavy offensive pressure". It's basically an expansion of the same type of play many people called out Day 1 filling up the top tiers, because that's how the game is played most effectively.

tier lists are never going to be accurate at this point in the games life, most people will say this person or that person is bad, then someone comes up with some tech that no one expects does it at a tournament then we get a whole bunch of "is character A top 5?" threads.
