Anyone still playing in the Auburn area? I've been looking for a scene since MK9 and it's never really panned out. I have a couple of guys that play offlines with me, but there's only 3-5 of us on a good day. I'd love to make that circle larger and more permanent - we usually scare away anyone without any fighting game experience.

I'm guessing you never heard from anyone, but I'm in Gadsden. If you guys ever get a monthly or anything setup, let me know. I could probably make attendance monthly, but a weekly would be rough

Thanks man, I was just reading about that. Didn't realize this thread existed lol. I looked it up though, Top Games? I'll probably be in attendance at the September monthly. Do they really do 3/5 rounds? I've never played that way, but I'll start practicing it

Is that not first to 2 MATCHES
but to win a match you have to win 3 ROUNDS (instead of 2)?

Seems like first to 3 with 2 rounds is the standard, but that doesn't look like the way they do it to me.

@MyronJ906 its first to 3 with 2 rounds a piece, with grand finals being first to 5, also at two rounds a piece. hit me up if you need more specifics, I go every month. we also play weekly casuals up there. @jaythatruth you said you stay in Hoover right? we need to get together for some casuals dude.

No doubt. Fridays and sundays will be the best days for it (after 5 on Friday). But yea I need the offline practice. Online is so not cool anymore. I just can't take the lag

bro this game is straight butter offline. Its a shock when u switch though, there is a lot of stuff that you can get away with online that gets punished once you hop off. I need more matchup exp and practice than I am already getting, so if we can figure out something weekly or at least bimonthly we can get up. @MyronJ906 if you wanna come down for some casual sets maybe one other time a month or something lemme know. I really would like to see bama players get together and level up. who are you guys maining?

Yea, I have pretty much became a fan of all run things fireball cancel overnight, and just stuck with it. D'vorah is fun to use, yet very execution heavy. Seven frame jabs are always fun as well

@skrone you said you usually go to Top Games on Thursdays, right? I'm thinking I'll try to make it up next week (Sept. 3rd), what time does the fun usually start happening? Hopefully I'll be able to make it every other week or something similar starting then. For the off weeks, we could probably do an online KOTH or get an AL room open. We need to get this scene kicking so that we don't have to travel to TN or ATL just for some good offline play

yea my off days are Friday and Sunday so that would be the best time for me to play offline. Since I work 1-10, I am normally up until 3-4am and if I am not playing Madden I am playing MK. I will be down to play

I'm also off on Sundays and get off Friday afternoon. If we have a venue to play at, I could probably make it somewhere at least a couple Fridays (or Sundays) a month

Not that I know of, but I'm in Gadsden so I honestly wouldn't have a clue. If you find something in the area though, let us all know. I'd love for nothing more than to have a huge AL fighting game community event every so often. We just need to find the players

That would be hype assuming there aren't just the 3-6 of us posting in this thread who play FGs in this stupidly large state.

Only problem with that is we have to deal with the FURTHER divide of being on different consoles. As far as I know, you're only on XBL and I'm only on PSN. I'll try getting an Xbone soon, but it could be a while. I think for now, if we can spread the word about the Top Games monthlies and work at getting everyone there, that's our best start. I can't imagine someone wanting to drive up from as far south as Mobile though with our existing scene
