I am working on getting a ps4 soon. I just keep using that console money for these vacations I got lined ip
I'm from Huntsville. Deep still has open fighting game night pretty much every single Thursday here in Huntsville.I was just reviewing the OP and noticed Deep Comics in Huntsville ( http://www.deepcomics.com/ ) does anyone know if they ACTUALLY still do FGC stuff? Looking at their events calendar, it doesn't seem like it. If someone has time can they call and find out? I'm currently at work lol could be another place for us to get some new blood and get things happening.
@JJV Phoenix is the place GT South by chance? I know they did an MK tournament last month but I found out about it too late and couldn't make it. I think Montgomery would be a REALLY good location since it could also potentially pull some people from Florida. Bham area seems good for most of us that are on TYM though, we just need a decent venue. So far it's looking like Top Games is our place, we just need to start taking the initiative and actually going/attending lol
Thanks for commenting. Any idea on attendance and MKX presence? We have potential for a scene, we just need to get the ball rolling. So far it's looking like the main question will be better venue/support between Top Games in Gardendale and Deep Comics in Huntsville. I'm GUESSING Top Games will care more since it's an actual video game store, but I've honestly never been to either so I can't say. I'd also still like to hear about the potential Montgomery venue. Once we find our definite home, all we have to do is grow it.I'm from Huntsville. Deep still has open fighting game night pretty much every single Thursday here in Huntsville.
Hey man, I'm from Montgomery and I'd definitely be down to come out, I know a couple of people who would possibly come out. Also, If you're from Alabama add S0ulRack89 on PS4 I'll be down to join some KoTHs.After Dragoncon and a few bartending sessions during the football games I should also have enough money for a ps4 as well. At the very least I am able to play PS4 at my offline training partner's place.
Related note, I may have a venue that could host us in Montgomery, if I can generate enough people and hype. I also have some contacts in Tuscaloosa but that may be a longer drive than everyone wants to make. I would set up in Auburn but the local scene is really dead here. Just a bunch of frat boys playing COD and a few international students that play SF.
I would absolutely travel for something like that, need details in advance in order to ask off of work. My training partners are also down.Would anybody be interested in a tourney here in Tuscaloosa with cash for top 4 or so? I've been wanting to get one going for a while now but have had no time. There's a gaming center here (Hive Bang Gaming) that we could have it at that has run 4 or 5 MKX tourneys already. If not, we can just have it at my house.
I will provide details as soon as I can. Alright man, I'll check my alerts to this thread.I will provide details as soon as I can. I made a contact through work and will see what I can do in the coming days.
I could come down to Tuscaloosa, it's not my preferred location since it's a little further off but it's doable lol. I'm willing to travel further than that for some other tournaments, so to get something (semi-local) with TYMers, yeah, I'm down. Just need as much headsup as I can get.Would anybody be interested in a tourney here in Tuscaloosa with cash for top 4 or so? I've been wanting to get one going for a while now but have had no time. I think attendance is maybe 15-25 people depending on how busy it is. We have I think like 10 serious MKX players of various skill levels. It's bring your own setup. A lot of the MKX players are too lazy to bring setups though, so it's not always there. I think there's usually 1 or sometimes 2 setups though, but I haven't been for a few weeks so idk.Thanks for commenting. Any idea on attendance and MKX presence? Huge fan of this place. My coworkers(We work in Hoover) live Tuscaloosa, and they introduce me to this place. They go there for stuff like LoL. I was only there once back in June when I was doing internship at UA. We had a fun tournament. Now, I haven't played MKX in a while, but I'd definitely come down to Tuscaloosa again to chill and play MK... I don't travel for gaming casuals/tournaments, but it was definitely fun.I would absolutely travel for something like that, need details in advance in order to ask off of work. My training partners are also down.
I stay in Birmingham, so it's like an hour drive maybe.. but, I work almost everyday, so I'm not sure if I'll be able to make it. Maybe if it's a Thursday or something. I think they are closed either Thursday or Wednesday though.I could come down to Tuscaloosa, it's not my preferred location since it's a little further off but it's doable lol. I haven't been there since June, but it was.... loud. When I went it was a surprisinly good number of people.I think attendance is maybe 15-25 people depending on how busy it is. What type of "support" are you looking for?
LOL, dude, I'm pretty sure I was there for that one. That Jax guy is hilarious. I can't remember his name. Kinda light-skinned with a ponytail I think. He was all about getting in people's heads lol. And I was the Sonya player btw.Huge fan of this place. My coworkers(We work in Hoover) live Tuscaloosa, and they introduce me to this place. They go there for stuff like LoL. I never asked if anyone was on TYM from there. I remember a guy who cussed a lot, and used Jax. And a Sub/Sonya player..
Mostly just the willingness to have us every month (if we decide we'd like to have monthlies). Nothing major lol. That's him, lol! I was the guy using Liu Kang. If you're the same person I'm talking about, then you had a bye for the first round. I won the first round and lost to the Sonya player in the second round.LOL, dude, I'm pretty sure I was there for that one. That Jax guy is hilarious. I can't remember his name. Yup, Saturday September 26th. I've never been to Top, but I'll be there!That's him, lol! I was the guy using Liu Kang. If you're the same person I'm talking about, then you had a bye for the first round. I won the first round and lost to the Sonya player in the second round.
Then I lost the Jax player.
@MyronJ906 - Sept. 26, right?

So now I think we've got the ball rolling and got a number of us to come out of the woodwork. We just need to determine how/when we'd like to handle our meetups. It's nice to know there's already 10+ people at a couple locations, definitely makes things easier.
I'm personally hyped to get some locals down. Unfortunately, our scene is a little bit smaller so it will take more careful organization. Also, don't forget about this: https://www.facebook.com/events/578500788955463/ it's at Top Games, September 26th. Anyone that can make it, please try to attend.
I work at the AT&T center behind the stardome, bring your setup to your job and we can get some games inNear the Galleria.
If we all get comfortable, there's always the chance of carpooling assuming people had the right schedules lineup. It'd be cool to take a Bama trip over to GA just to let them know we have a scene too (haha, once we get it REALLY going).I live in Bluff Park really close to there. I am not going to be able to make it far from the bham area more than once or twice every few months if that. I work full time, go to school full time, and share a car. Meeting in Hoover or at Top Games (unless scheduled way in advance) is the only way I am going to get games in. My weekly casuals group has shrunk quite a bit lately so I am DYING to get some games in. I am on PSN but I never play online. Can't deal with the lag
