THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I'VE BEEN TRYING TO SAY!!!
Is being able to blockstun for this long dumb? YES!
But so is like 99% of what the rest of the cast does!
It just seems like an overall misunderstanding of the game to me. Chip heavy pressure is one of the main archetypes in the game. You hate Liu chipping you out? What about Lao? Oh that's okay because it uses meter? Well D'Vorah says hello. She has run cancels that that 50/50 you by the way. Bonus! Oh hi, Shinnok. How's your chip doing today? Good? Excellent. Looking good today on the big screen, eh Johnny? And you can go on. There are variations on the idea of chip heavy pressure throughout many of the cast. It's an integral part of the game.
Want to fight it? You have to fight the resource it depends on. Don't hand me a bunch of bullshit about Liu being vastly overpowered with run cancels when he has to use his stamina meter to get in on any opponent with half a brain. Meanwhile D'Vorah will start crackin' in on you at midscreen.
How about instead of complaining about a character archetype, you learn how to fight it? Either that, or you can point me to the top tournament results featuring DF Liu Kang. And don't give me some more bullshit about execution. I'm a new player to modern NRS games with MKX and I can do run cancels all goddamn day. Pressing forward forward block is not what is required to do well.
