What are the most annoying variations to play against?

TB might have been the best SZ in MK9, but I don't know about in MKX. Rebelo looks very solid. You should watch his play if you want to see an adaptable SZ play and set/respond to the pace of the match.

Anyway, just sharing my opinion, you are free to disagree. Wasn't expecting a unanimous agreement to the statement that SZ is something other than easy to play anyway, this is still TYM after all :p
Yeah man thanks for the input, nice to see somebody who discusses stuff and tries to educate rather than getting butthurt and offended at everything hahah.

*salutes* We are few and far inbetween on this site. Posting on TYM feels like trying to navigate a minefield at times, people get extremely upset when faced with any sort of conflicting opinion, and even more so when it's supported with strong logic lol

I just like discussing stuff. People take that as if i was personally insulting their entire family lol.

Yeah, I'm pretty open minded about being wrong as well, so while we are on this subject TYM, I'm just going to tell you that it'd be nice to have an explanation to why I'm wrong instead of just being informed that I'm the biggest retard to create an account. Doesn't leave me with much to ponder, or necessarily do much to convince me of your argument.

Online: the lag tactic crew:
1) Tempest Lao (the lag tactic block infinite)
2) Mileena (mk9 lag tactic heritage)
3) Takeda (might be lack of experience)
Offline:
1) Erron (hes too good up close)
2) Takeda (might be lack of experience)
3) Jax (lack of experience good rushdown)

@ragnar0kz28

As someone who mostly plays local, what is Mileena's lag tactic? I've seen people say before she is really strong online, wondering why this is

Yolo rolls. Getting away with shit because latency allows her to get stupid rolls everywhere, also not fun fuzzyguarding when there is half a second latency. Also annoying getting round her sai's when shes a laggy fuck.

In mk9 she got away with murder on her teleports.

In long sets its not so bad, but on a ranked 1v1 u get 2 rounds to get a read on somebody and it can take you time to adjust to their stupid yolo roll even when im -10 tactics, and then they get away with it cos the lag

I main Mileena and I'm surprised to see so many mentions of her regarding lag. I just don't know what you guys are talking about. I get punished a lot. Roll and tele-kick both hit mid so there's just no guessing, and they're usually quite readable or predictable. Not to mention all of my normals seem to lose every single poke war. She's just super unsafe, but super fun.

See that's what I'm saying... What does that even mean?? And how is it different from any other character? I'm so confused.

I pretty much play online exclusively, and I find Mileena extremely easy to read. And judging by how often I get blocked and punished, other people feel the same way. That's why I'm so surprised to hear otherwise in this thread.

i can second that. very frustating blocking her ball roll and not be able punishing her. i main sub it's easier punishing her with 1,1, freeze than B1,2, freeze. 1 has low startup frames, but does less damage. i just wanna go for full damage with B1,2. But because of the lag i barely can do it. offline no problem. as for takeda his EX teleport is like super safe online, it's already hard to punish offline.

I feel that way about most characters. I feel like I rarely get to punish on block playing online, because by the time my attack comes out, they're already blocking or hitting me with something else. I usually can't even pull off a simple uppercut punish. It drives me crazy. I don't remember ever having so much trouble with punishes in MK9. In MKX they either come out too late or just completely whiff.

Death By Nines

Catharsis
Quan Chi... Fucking despise this character. The range on his B2 is nothing short of nauseating.

Luckily he's free on wake up so the entire gameplan is get him in the corner and pressure. The second he touches me I break if I have meter. I refuse to sit idly in his blender and take his nonsense.

Braindead

I want Kronika to step on my face
"great... this person is probably gonna play like a little bitch..."
He did not play like an annoying little turd like 99% of the other ones I've played against...
It's the cheap annoying ones that I can't stand.
Spam njp until it hits, then dive kick and bo spin. All. The. Time.

It's just so repetitive and boring. I don't understand people who play like this.
Congrats, you made it on the top 5 most pathetic posters list.

So the "Braindead" guy resorts to ad hominem attacks, rather actual responses like every single other person in this thread.

For your next post, would you care to offer anything constructive?

Just curious where you're going with this ;)

Reauxbot

You think you bad? You aint bad.
I seriously doubt he is make the read, otherwise it would be teleport for more damage and no meter. Probably just lucky.

I don't know why, but I never really struggle with the MU. It's ironic, because inferno catches me all the time. We'll be at sweep distance and my brain goes "surely he isn't dumb enough to try a yolo rise vortex from this distance." And I get caught an absurd amount of the time
And i play Cassie, usually people will use normals to keep her out. Bold ass Infernos throw demons -_-
Or that damn gimmick block string ending with low minion

White Lotus
Wow everyone else is encountering Hellfire Scorpions or FA Jacqui's and I never encounter these people.
My biggest annoyances in no particular order:

1. Takeda (Shirai Ryu)
2. Scorpion (Inferno)
3. Ermac (Master of Souls) EVERYONE PICKS THIS VARIATION
4. Mileena (Piercing) Spam projectiles then either teleport or roll, it's all they are, and OP Lag game
5. Tanya (Mainly Pyromancer) brainless players throw random special moves that are 50/50 guess all the time then zone with fireballs then air tele to get in and do it all over again it's just plain annoying
6. Liu Kang (Dragon's Fire) Just the same rushdown and rare zoning game every single time it's like I'm fighting the last guy who played him

Purse first, ass last.
It's always the Scorpion and Sub-Zero players who feel they have to cape up and defend their character's mindlessness/flowchartery, haha. Every. Single. Time. They were designed to be very effective even for newcomers, and a nightmare to fight for those who could actually play the game. No need for the denial, everyone knows...

On topic:

Takeda - I laugh when people ie. the Takeda forums scream to death this character is bad. He has very, very good tools. It is near impossible to be bad if you have near full screen normal that also anti air, and a teleport.
Sub-Zero/Scorpion - For obvious braindead reasons I hate encountering their most popular variations.
Reptile - Another character that people say is horrible when he has a superior mixup game and good projectiles.
Sonya - Press ALL THE BUTTONS until your opponent dies from one missed block.

I tried to throw a yo-yo away. It was impossible.
Mileena for two reasons
1) It's always laggy when you play one
2) I have some kind of mental block or something when I fight one. I always lose dating back to the mk2 days.
