My blades will find your heart
I have to correct some misinformation here. For one, no game has grabs that beat armor. That just wouldn't make sense if they do.I feel like armor is way too powerful, most games that I've seen have one player pressuring the other until he uses an armored move to get out, then he pressures until he gets hit by an armored move. The fact that there are no armor breaking moves and also that armor protects you from throws too kind of makes them downright ridiculous. This is compounded by the fact that everyone has multiple armored moves.
Another issue I see is that the characters appear very "normalized" to me. Sure you can pick a slower character, but what do you get for it? Everyone has the same health, barring buffs or unique set up situations almost every character does roughly the same damage, and like I stated earlier, armored moves aren't unique to slower characters as everyone has them. It almost feels like the best characters will simply be the ones with the best frame data, because nothing else is truly unique.
I hope NRS fixes some things, I'd like to see grabs (at the very least command grabs) beat armor, I'd like to see some bigger disparity in terms of damage for slower characters/variations that have a hard time getting in and opening up the opponent. Oh, and lowering your hitbox should NOT make you dodge being thrown.
The characters being the same...I honestly don't know what game you are playing. Venomous dvorah and Cybernetic Kano are in no way similar. Hell, Venomous Dvorah and Swarm Queen Dvorah are practically two different characters. With the variations I have no idea how you can think this, but to each his own.
As for there being no armor breaking moves, that is straight up false. Any fast multi-hitting attacks break armor like in every game. Dvorahs b12 is a great example, Kung Laos 12121(whatever the string is) and Erron Blacks 21211 strings break armor. Reptile's low breaks armor too IIRC. Additionally, most armor moves are unsafe on block.
