General/Other - Grandmaster New patch removes Some of SZ corner combo & trapping options

Nrs games come but once every 24 months and with them comes a barrage of silly frustrations and petty grievances that make me want to leave the planet.

This dude Woolay Chi probably got destroyed by Sub regularly so he's just happy he doesn't have to learn how to deal with it. Same goes for all the people who said things like "Good" and "Thank god". Sub definitely didn't need to be nerfed anywhere near this bad.

My issue is not with SZ nerfs per say, i'm pretty sure even you know I'll do just fine. My issue is with other BS that stays.. Its like in MK9 when SZ got nerfed 99999 times including losing his reset. Then I have to play every Cyrax and Smoke that retain theirs.

I simply want a balanced game, not one where patches actually cause a severe imbalance by trying to fix the balance like in MK9. Look at the OS stuff in this game, thats completely broken. It gives several characters SAFE 50/50s. If that stuff stays, characters that can really benefit from it will become more and more dominant.

Here's a fully detailed example with just one character. Every character has options like this, people cried too much with 0 time spent in the lab.

I do still stand for the equal cooldown for ice clone recovery when it goes away.

The clone cooldown, I can deal with.

The clone disappearing on block, bugs me. I shouldn't be punished for guessing and blocking correctly.

How I try to deal with the changes:

I move a little further back from my clone now to avoid the JIKs from reaching me, along with long reaching normals. Neutral game seems much more important now. Corner pressure is definitely subdued. It's a lot more "Wait to see what your opponent does before getting the clone out".

I feel SZ players pain.. As a cassie player they took away pretty much 90% of our corner combos and even midscreen pressure as f34 is now -8 on block with a splash knockdown. It seem's like NRS takes away anything that involves corner pressure/

Listen, i'm with you. I understand there is alot of work to be done in order for the game to be balanced and I agree with Cyrax as well. All i'm saying, is the nerf was warranted. People blowing me up for my opinion and crying the blues about the SZ nerf just tells me they could only succeed with Grand Master/Ice Clones.

In a forum where everyone is telling everyone to stop crying and level up, the majority of the SZ community are acting like hypocrites. They nerfed 1 move in 1 variation and people are ready to drop the character, it's pathetic.

I plan on it, yep. Although my character has other variations so if they nerf ONE MOVE in his entirety, I'll simply either:

a.) move to another variation
b.) level up and learn the changes.
c.) not cry on forums and post childish remarks as "OOOO I CAN'T WAIT TILL JAX GETS NERFED WAHHHH".

Ah, good to see TYM has started to devour itself on the very first balance patch. Brady was always the favourite to have a full on melt down but putting people on blast and implying certain players got the character nerfed and then deleting that from the OP and playing the victim card is genuine quality. Add to that inventing the fiction that there was a narrative to get SZ nerfed when Dave's thread arguing against the normalization was overwhelmingly supported and people even put Fox on blast just for suggesting, maybe, he was too good and the fact that Sub Zero is still almost certainly a top 5 if not top 10 character and I just have to go 10/10 Brady, guaranteed to win the next salt report.

Also, credit to @Woolay Chi for just winding people up in here. It's remarkable, SZ players are basically like the green nitro crates from Crash Bandicoot. Just go there, just once and kaboom!

I mean you literally have one guy telling him to go fuck himself over his opinion of the character. You have another going "wah wah wah fuck you I hope your main gets nerfed too wah wah wah", all the while people are ready to abandon ship over the slightest hint of normalization.

Great job community, this is definitely conducive and helpful to growing and strengthening. Sometimes I wonder if character loyalists go OTT on every little thing, or at least, people who want to be seen to be loyal to a character so they become associated with the community like 16Bit is Kitana and Brady is to SZ but also require that character be top tier because they can't accept losing match ups

At the same time, this is the opposite side of the coin. It's just not helpful. If Sub Zero was beasting you, like he was me, shake your head and accept it. I think its a fairly reasonable nerf and I'm glad NRS aren't just abandoning the rest of the cast to their fate in the onslaught of the top tiers, but just taunting people unnecessarily isn't helpful. We all troll a little bit, I trolled the Takeda community over their unreasonable salt levels, but this kinda shit helps absolutely no one.

these people have so much time on their hands to interfere with other's discussions based on their characters because they have nothing to worry about with their own, if you have anything to say just go start a separate thread and share youre thoughts, over here youre just interfering
