RYX

BIG PUSHER
As much as I'd really like to include nonplayable characters like No Face and Tasia, I'm gonna stick to people who have only been playable in few iterations of the franchise. I'm also not including anyone from MKX because I think they'll reappear in later games. I think it's a downright injustice for all of these characters not to receive the love that is NRS' beautiful redesigns

I think most if not all of these characters deserve a chance to win the hearts of the fans properly, with my personal exceptions being Taven and Daegon because they're really only related to Armageddon and I hated that plot.

My picks are, in order:

Bo Rai Cho - I think we really need this guy to show up again. Everyone remembers him less for the fact that he's a jolly wiseman and more as the guy who puked on everybody and farted a lot.

Chameleon - He's my favorite character, I can't lie. As a pro and a con, he's almost a blank template in what he can be able to do and the fanboy in me hopes that he becomes a dude with a high power level compared to everyone else. Being so badass that Shao Kahn keeps you hidden has to account for something. There's some issue with his outfit too, I think; it's hard to make a guy rainbow colored and not incredibly gaudy

Drahmin - This guy along with Moloch is so perfect for the MK universe it makes me cry that Ed Boon won't let him return. They're basically the ultimate forces of demon-based murderporn, and a dude who was tortured into insanity and wears a fucking club for his arm is cool.

Frost - She should be the successor to Sub-Zero, if we're going with the whole passing the torch thing that the Clone Squad is offering, why not give her the same treatment? Differentiate her from her mentor with a different gameplay style and personality (which she already has) and I think she'll pick up popularity pretty quickly.

Havik - This guy is a necessity in the future installments. He's the ultimate wild card in the series; pulling the strings from the background and being generally unpredictable. He also wigged me the fuck out with how he broke his own body for his special moves, and it would look astoundingly awesome translated into the new generation. He's even shown up in the comics and is currently a big player in the grand scheme of things.

Hotaru - I feel like he needs to reappear as well, as sort of a 'damage control' to Havik's unwatched mayhem. I don't know what else to say about the guy other than he has exoskeleton armor, he really hasn't gotten a lot of attention.

Hsu Hao - This guy's pretty much the ultimate jobber in MK, even below Baraka who's also dead. I don't know, I just always had this gut feeling that the dude should've been MK's premier grappler, and I still don't think we've had anyone who focused entirely on command grabs. And no, Commando Kano doesn't cut it.

Mavado - Kabal's legacy.

Moloch - Dude carries a giant fucking wrecking ball with him. I want him back. What makes me even sadder is that him and Meat are the only guys who've never had a unique finishing move. That's just not right.

Nitara - She's actually a pretty neat concept and an expansion to the realms Outworld has conquered. She also serve as a decent neutral character on top of giving Reptile a little more story to feel good about while Ed Boon picks his nose with the lizard's fingers. I think the winged concept wasn't taken advantage of properly and she'd have a potentially interesting dynamic with Skarlet.

Skarlet - This character was just amazing in MK9. I loved her moveset, I loved the backstory to her even if it was simple. She's so badass that Shao Kahn actually keeps her chained up in his Coliseum. But we know almost nothing about her. We have no clue of her personality outside of being a ruthless warrior in combat, we don't know her ambitions outside of wanting to learn blood magik for unknown reasons, and we have no idea where she stands with other characters in the series. It would just be a waste of one of the coolest recent creations in the series for her not to reappear.

What do you guys think? Agree/Disagree with any of my personal favorites? Have someone of your own you want to see again?

I was hoping for Frost and Sareena to make it into MKX and they did...kinda. So I Still have hopes for them.

I'd love Li Mei or Ashrah back too. Mavado was pretty swag as well

The only morality in a cruel world is chance.
Shinnok :DOGE

But seriously, my picks:

Bo Rai Cho - A lot of people don't like the goofy, drunk guy who farts all the time, but I find him to be hilarious and an unique character in MK.

Chameleon - I've always loved this character for some reason. Maybe it's the name, idk. I'd love to see what they could do with him.

Fujin - God of Air or Wind, whatever floats your boat. Sounds fucking cool to me. The Last Airbender! ;p

Li Mei - Just because.

Motaro - Motaro is fucking bad ass. He's like a centaur crossed with a demon. Very cool sub boss if you ask me.

Skarlet - I was very pleased with this character in MK9. I love that she derived from a glitch and NRS decided to make a her a real playable character. Props to NRS for that.

what's done is done
Havik and Reiko because they have already proven in the comics that they are a necessity. Fujin out of respect for my fellow players who hope our mains get into MKX. Sareena seems like a cool character. Skarlet was really cool in MK9, I hope she returns.

but srs bring back shinnok and dont fuck him up again

STRYKIE

Are ya' ready for MK11 kids?!
Voted based purely on reboot/makeover potential.

Anyone expecting any of those characters to come back exactly as they were upon their previous incarnations needs to put the bong down lol. I'm not sure if I could put up with another game of Reiko essentially doing nothing but being Shao Kahn's un-ironic biggest fan.

Smoke, Frost, Sareena, Fujin, Li Mei(she lookin kinda old though, so they might get rid of old kombatants), Havik and Reiko for story, and Skarlet as an added bonus. The cyborgs are scrap metal by now. Everyone else meh. Whoever picked Jarek lmao.

Most of the really old combatants would be remade, so any past identity of Jarek being Kano's clone would at best be a nod in his direction.

I forgot to put Shujinko in the list. :( Would anyone have voted for him?

Hmm oh yeah, and Shujinko....he just doesn't hype me, so that'd be a no from me.

I'm a lover, not a fighter
Bo Rai Cho - Particularly important character in the MK story
Li Mei - Arguably the main character / most important in MKDA alongside Bo
Ashrah - Cool character design and concept with an interesting story line
Shujinko - the most important character in MKD and a fantastic character design

Li Mei and Ashrah are two of my favorite non classic characters by a mile. <3

They all deserve a second chance.

Seriously, too many characters have soooo much potential now that MK universe revamped, just for them to continue being completely written off and forgotten.

I'd rather have most of the names on that list than the great, great grand-cousin of The Great Kung Lao, twice removed. Please, no more offspring characters! The only other character that could possibly need a child is Kano, so that they can finally do what he couldn't do for years and kill Sonya/Jax so a new rivalry came be formed between him/her and Cassie/Jacqui, that's it.

I want both original and interesting new characters that aren't just military brats or the son of X trained by Y like Erron Black, Kotal Kahn, and Ferra/Torr and the characters we haven't seen since MK trilogy, DA, Deception or Armageddon.

And don't give me shit about how nobody cares about those characters because of how bad YOU thought the past 3D games were, because if they'd have the production, time and money spent on them like MKX had. I'm willing to bet we'd all be singing a completely different tune.

NRS has probably the most diverse roster of characters and doesn't even use HALF of them. Smh

PS: And no I'm not talking about Blaze, Meat, Mokap, Moloch, Kobra, Taven, etc. You can keep that shit.

Kombatant
Ashrah - Her whole "former demon that was serving Quan Chi" back story could really be expanded upon if given the chance. Definitely potential there to make her a top babyface.

Bo' Rai Cho - Trained Liu Kang and Kung Lao, don't see how he wasn't included in MK X as a playable character. Here's hoping he gets a redesign and is included in the rumored "Story Pack" if that's a thing.

Drahmin - Easily one of the top three most brutal designs in MK history. Considering he's also a Netherrealm Oni, I'd like to imagine he would have a rather brutal playstyle as well.

Fujin - Like Bo' Rai Cho, I don't know why he wasn't playable in MK X. Such a missed opportunity considering he's the God of Wind. Another "Story Pack" hopeful.

Havik - Like Ryx said in the OP, he's the ultimate wild card. You'd never really know who's side he's on. That and he's up there with Drahmin in the top three most brutal MK designs, as well one of my top three favourite characters in general.

Hotaru - Can't really have Havik without Hotaru. Loads to work with there. Make Hotaru the next Big Bad's second in command or something.

Kai - I feel Kai doesn't get enough love, so I hope to see him get another chance in the spotlight. Seeing as how Liu and Lao are canonically revenants now, Jin and Kai could step as the new generation of Shaolin.

Mavado - Leader of the Red Dragon, murderer of Suchin and overall prick, this guy would make a good villain if given another chance. Don't like his chances, though. Would be great to see him revamped.

Reiko - This one is pretty obvious, isn't it? I'm honestly surprised he didn't make the cut this time around, especially with the whole Outworld Civil War happening. I know he's in the comics and is probably gonna bite the dust in 'em, but I'm still hopin' he returns at some point.

Most of those characters are deadbeat versions of the original cast. I'd be more interested in them making up new ones with more original themes/fighting styles. Well except Motaro, he was a friggin horseman which is awesome.

Winning feels better when you take a little damage
Skarlet, I REALLY wanna see something done with her story wise.
As a matter of fact, i think it would have been cool if she were one of mileena's allies in the MKX story idk why they didn't do that.
