I think it sucks the way it's formatted, it's incredibly complex compared to MK 9's...I hate point systems, so dumb. Should just be win/lose and TS, that's all that matters. I don't care about "Scorpion or Raiden used a million times or most used character etc" like who cares?

It's funny the netcode seems better then MK9 but the leaderboards are meh...

Points just means=most time invested higher rank. Because I've seen people with higher pts then me and others yet their win/lose ratio isn't the greatest.

You can get points by doing various things in this game, that really has nothing to do with how good one is competitively.

These are my sentiments exactly. I played a few guys who were way above my 'level' but probably didn't have jobs but I completely destroyed them.

I simply don't understand the points system / leaderboard or how any of that is useful. I don't have an answer to how to perfect the system but they could start by at least making sure the one they have isn't broken. High points or not, if you have a 1-2 ratio you shouldnt be in top 100 when I know people with 50-10 records who aren't anywhere on there.

Exactly lol. Yeah I mean I like the various categories to look at but the point system just is too much IMO and seems totally off. I think in MKX's case the best way to play the better players are sites like this honestly or to make friends who are good, want to improve etc. The only way to see your own rank isn't even on the leaderboards anymore unless you have tons of points, you have to go to your own stats to find out overall stats etc Just annoying. Hopefully in the future they'll go back to MK9's leaderboard format.

I am experiencing a lot of the things you are.

When I catch someone with a good connection, matches are great online. But the ping bar thing is disappointing. And whoever is responsible for all things online and the design in general is awful at their job. Everything on the online side looks terrible and like a high school kid put it together very quickly in their basement. But I am willing to get over all of that if/when NRS cleans up their mess...as always when it comes to online.

If NRS made MK9 somewhat playable online, I am sure this game will be fine after a few patches when the DLC characters come out. I think the problems are beyond hot fixes.

So I see a lot of people on MKX with records of 100/5 or 85/6 etc etc.

Yet when I challenge them and manage to play them they are very mediocre/bad. The second you throw anything complicated at them (anything above 4-5 hit combo), they just flake? Now don’t get me wrong there are guys out there who are very good with the same records but the vast majority are not great. I am just wondering how the hell are they getting those W/L records? How is it possible to get such a high win column and be so terrible?

Okay do you see the average player? i.e. most players in this game? And how most of them look like they're just happy to hit 2 jabs and sub zero slides for days? How even when your record is 309490-3 you still get matched up with 3-2932093 people? So with all that in mind, record has, nor will it ever mean anything and should not be indicative of one's skill level. To get a good record in this game, all that's required of you is to be better than the current average, or in other words just throw out projectiles with full auto-jackey/Inferno Scorp or be mediocre enough to hit a 5 hit combo. Now you're an online god of MKX!

I been looking for this thread !

Only theory i can think of is that they play complete noobs instead of really good players, & themselfd thier mainly noobs. Played a guy with 504-24 losses beat him 5 times WITH HIS MAIN ! & then the FIRST match you win they leave immediately

i mean i have a shitty w/l streak 310-150 but im still killing though :)

The entire leaderboards and everything online is fucked. Take a look at the bottom left where it gives you fun facts while waiting for a match:

"xxxKillaPlayaSwagBoi420xxx is #1 on the King of the Hill Survivor leaderboards with a record of 1-5"

Records & Leaderboards are generally pointless.

Good players tend to fight good players so their records will look mediocre.

Shit players tend to prey on the newbies so their records look amazing.

If it's in Player Match, it's because those guys only accept matches with bad players.

Most of the guys who have records like that in Ranked are good.

I'm an online scrub who enjoys stomping people in Ranked/KoTh. It's kind of sad I enjoy it so much. Maybe it's to make up the beating I take at GGA for being a fraud.

Itt gpt to a point whereI can't even get a game in a room and my record is 318-111. Most of these people with only a handful of losses prey on noons and when I goto challenge them I have a > 70% chance of winning so they decline.

The only time I decline is when its a red bar connection.

It April yet?
There are hackers, and boosters. And the matchmaking seems to be the worst I have ever seen in a fighting game. Pariring 200-30 ppl with 20-80 people all the time. I also saw a streamer get paired against the same person in ranked eight times in a row. It is what it is.

Speaking of which on stream last night qe got about 8 of these people through ranked. Went 7-1 and the one who beat me was a buzzsaw kung lao, which ive never fought before.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaand I think im mediocre in the grand scheme of things

Usually when I play someone with a good record like that, chances are they are actually good. Then again, most people who send me challenges seen me around the MK community.

If they are not good, but have a high record they probably just play noobs a lot. When they do run into someone good either they barely win and quit, or lose and quit.

I'm new to the game, and played ranked for the first time (before I studied Sub and learned combos) ran into a Kung Jin 400+/50~, it was 2-1 and I won. I'm currently 4-0 and still terrified to run into people I won't learn from (both noobs, and people a shit tonne better than me)

Lot of the records are suspect. I've seen 500+/10. Even pros would struggle with that simply due to network lag, inevitable mistakes, a legit dropped connection, etc... It's very possible they are farming wins with lag switches or found a way to negate a loss being counted.
