@Jack Burton Does brewcade have consoles/will get them? Or will we have to supply them?
We will need to supply consoles, preferably PS4 so players can use their past generation controllers.

To let you guys know this are progressing well and quickly. I'll be setting a date pretty soon. So hold on to ya asses :)

That's good to know, now will have to find out how many consoles we need and how's willing to bring them. I'll be honest, I don't know if I want to walk around the city/ride bart with hundreds of dollars in electronics on my back.

Hey guys!

The talks are looking good at Brewcade. I'm looking at having the first tournament on Sunday, April 19th and starting it at around 6 or 7pm till 11pm (giving people who need Bart to get home to give them a chance to catch their trains). Tje date isn't final but I'd like it then. The tournament will happen every two weeks. Some of you who want to have a hangout session can do that on the weeks there isn't a tournament to help grow the scene (inspired by GGA). However, since I only have every other Sunday off work to run the tourney, someone else will have to run the hangout session. If you're interested, please let me know so we can coordinate a time for you to meet the Brewcade manager so they can get to know you.

I'm also looking into the streaming situation. Either it'll be streamed from the PS4 at least, if one of you have a stream station at second best, or I'll ask iPlaywinner if they'll be interested in streaming it at best.

I'll mention this again, if any of you can help with this event, it'll be super appreciated. The more help there is the better the event will run. I work 45 hours a week and have little time on my hands. Give me a PM if you can help. Also, I'd like to meet up with you guys in person who are going to help soon since the day is coming up and I want to put a name to a face. I'm off work this Wednesday.

If you'd like to meet on Wednesday, when would you be looking to meet up?

As much as I'd love to make it out to BLT in Sacramento it just isn't a possibilty for me. I wanna see who else here is in the Bay, I'm willing to go wherever BART takes me to get a scene going out here. Who else is down for MKX?
@Odoyle @smile @cR WoundCowboy
Where are you from? I'm looking around to see if there's going to be anymore release parties like the one in sac just a little bit closer to me.

The only meeting places that people have suggested with potential are at players homes. Folsom Street Foundry looks to be a good place, but it seemed they control what games are played there and what is streamed. Even the Street Fighter guys do their own tournaments elsewhere as if Folsom isn't a permanent thing. A friend has suggested a new arcade in the Castro called Brewcade that I have to check out. Any other suggestions are welcomed.
Yeah but that would suck for any players that are under 21

Hey guys, if we can't find a place soon I'm willing to hold casuals at my house. I would just need people to bring some spare consoles and monitors + cables. I would like to hold something before mkx comes out so we can meet 'n' greet.
I would love to do a meet and greet, maybe we could find a community center or something along those lines?

I could bring a ps3, we just need a safe way to transport all of this stuff.

We will get a better headcount once the date gets closer so we can discuss how many PS4's we should bring. I think it would be safer and more convenient if we had the guys who lived in the city bring their consoles. Are you over 21? On top of these biweekly meetings, @HugeMcBigLarge and I, will be planning something else on a different day for anyone who can make it. The venue that we have chosen will do for the time being. Hopefully, somewhere down the line we can find a place that will accommodate the younger guys, but until then Brewcade will do.

Hey, does anybody have an account for other fighting game sites like mku and shoryuken? We should post info about brewcade on other forums to help spread the word.

Good thinking. I like this idea. We should all find ways to promote this around to other websites as well. I will also make a thread on Sunday to promote it as an official event as well

Most people get fake ID's to buy booze but it would be really funny to say that I got one so I could go to a MK meetup
If people want it, I'm still willing to hold casuals at my place for the off weeks. People in sf and the north/west bay can go to folux's, while people in the south/east bay can come to my place. Or you can go to both lol.
