General/Other - Jacqui Briggs Anyone find it weird that she is getting so much hate despite not being fully revealed yet?

The point being, an alternate costume can be completely different in tone and design than the primary.

Just because her primary is military doesn't mean her alternate(s) will be.



That is arguable at best.

They can do anything they want with any character and explain it in a way that makes sense, this is a fictitious world. Being entirely new makes this even easier.

Being military and from Earthrealm limits nothing but her past, because that's all that has been established. What she can be however is completely up in the air.

Ok, fair enough point I guess. USUALLY a character's alternate costume is a redesign of the same aesthetic but in the case of Cassie I suppose its not. But even so, her main costume (both Jacqui's and Cassie's but I'm referring to Jacqui here) isn't all that interesting either. It's got camo, it's color pallette is various shades and tints of blue and grey. She's got arm gauntlets, kinda cool. But then again Jax is going to have the same thing so it makes it seem more derivative and less thrilling because someone else already has it. I'm not saying she doesn't have potential to be interesting but from what I've seen so far, she doesn't look like she'll be very compelling

Just because I show support for a character I like, it doesn't mean I feel like everyone needs to love them.

I defend Jacqui like I defend Kung Jin and like I defended Cassie when she was first announced.

There is no good reason to judge any character based on assumption and not knowledge. And I didn't make this thread, BTW, so I don't understand why you're even bringing that up.

Anyone who reads my posts and has basic reading comprehension can see what I mean.

Like when @seniorcuddlebuns said he wasn't interested in her based on what little we've seen, I said okay, there's nothing wrong with that. But when people say "I don't like her because she'll be [x]" there's a problem, because no one knows anything about what she'll be yet beyond the bits and pieces we've been thrown in the comics and trailer.

It's a ridiculous pre-based judgement with no proof or evidence, and that's unacceptable in regards to ANY character with little information, not just Jacqui.

You need to stop putting words in people's mouths and forcing your interpretations onto what people say, because it makes you look like an ignorant ass.

I'm excited about her. It is kinda silly to hate a character you haven't even seen in action. At the same time i guess its silly for me to call her my main based on how i liked her presentation in the comic lol. If she is "broke" people will come around. Not being sarcastic... I went and looked at the story mode trailer again and saw the gauntlets. But no one knows what they will be actually used for (but I guess it's some sort of guns). But again, where is it mentioned she's a kick boxer? The comics?

1. I fully believe she's being saved for a last for a reason, and she'll have enough appeal in her variations to get a good amount of players on board, or at least get us to accept her existence. Cassie needs a BFF, and it helps the whole ongoing Special Forces/White Lotus family theme, so I get it.

2. There are still at least a dozen other characters that could've been given the spot that would've been infinitely more exciting/appealing.

I don't hate her, I just haven't seen anything about her personality that makes me interested in her at the moment. What I've seen of her in the comics hasn't really grabbed my attention. Maybe she'll be like Takeda, where I didn't think much of the character until I saw some gameplay and won me over somewhat.
