Suddenly this thread is about unrealistic moves rather than about moves that don't fit a character
Well, to be honest, everyone kicks and punches in this game. The victim flying from the opposite direction is pretty damn dumb, but in my humble opinion it's more a problem of with move's visual design rather than with it not fitting the character.
My top goes to scorpions leg takedown. It's not that it's out of character it just seems pointless. Has anyone ever thought "I hope scorp still has that awesome leg sweep in the next game."? How has that move made it off the cutting room floor every game?
To be fair, scissors takedown is legit move in oriental martial arts (including judo I believe), it just usually looks a bit differently, but then again MK moves may mimic something from RL, and then they turn them up to eleven (recent example: Sonya's garrotte parry), so this one can be considered par the course too. I believe it's kind of okay on Scorpion because of his Japanese background.
what about the animalities?
I'll just say: animalities. All of them
Still til this day I don't understand How a regular human like Jhonny Cage acquired green Fireballs.
He's not regular human though, he's basically a descendant of a race of supersoilders created by gods at one point in history.
As to the topic... I'm having trouble to think of anything else really. I'm so used to what different characters can do that it became their integral part in my eyes.
Now that I think about it, I can agree on Kano balls. The name sticks well (thanks to similarity with "cannonball"), but to me Kano was first and foremost his knives and fighting style, not this move. Heck, his new set of throws and parries look much more like himself despite being new thing. Well, at least MKX balls at least animated a bit differently to look a bit less silly.
