Also, if he was behind her, you would see cassie in the pic on the phone and the angle that Erron is pointing his guns would make no sense
Cameras have zoom feature, so its not like she couldn't zoom past where her face is. Makes sense if you are trying to capture the full picture, AND explains why his picture is so close.

Maybe, I considered that, but look at the guns, they're pointing almost directly upwards and he is also looking up. That doesn't make any sense unless he's actually on the other side of the portal and even on the camera you can see those orange sparks showing he's in close proximity to the portal, so why wouldn't we be able to see him in the panel where they are jumping through the portal?

Doesn't make sense to me for him to be anywhere other than the other side of the portal. We'll find out soon enough anyway.

He isn't trying to kill them I don't think (cant imagine it being too hard for him), so the guns angle really just shows where the camera was taking the picture from. Would be way easier if we had the picture on hand to analyze.

I know, but that's what I mean, the guns are pointed right at the camera, which is above him. That wouldn't be possible unless he's on the other side of the portal.
It would! Need to have a chat with Kittelsen to straighten things out.

Maybe he is in a weird running stance? If he is bent over a bit while he runs, it would make the illusion the picture is coming from above. Can you see the ground in it?

I think you can, it's really hard to tell though. We'll find out soon enough I'm sure.

He is in front of them, the portal opens up in front of them n Erron is on the otherside either they run through it or he grabs them, otherwise if he was behind you would see Cassies face n the pic, why would she zoom in if it's a selfie, she wouldn't even have time too.

Me too and still counting :)
One of the mods asked me to take it down, it was too big! lol

@SneakyTortoise Agreed, I can't see how anyone can say plotholes when the comic series isn't even over yet and it makes perfect sense if anything for Kahn to kidnap Cassie and Jacqui, even if KK don't know(which I doubt he probably does but we'll see) Black could be doing it to try to impress KK or something or of course if KK gave the green light to do so, no doubt he's trying to use them as leverage or something.

Erron could be taking Cassie hostage for Kotal so he can blackmail Sonya into forming an alliance between Earthrealm and Outworld! Keep in mind she wouldn't do it when he asked her before, but now he could be forcing her to by keeping Cassie and Jacqui hostage!

The same theory I shared earlier ;) I too think this is the case or something similar.

But that seems so weak. Why bother kidnapping her right before a huge battle? I would think he would kidnap her after he has eliminated the more immediate threats. Also why would he need to force their allegiance now when he doesn't even have any use or need for it? He seems content to act on his own.

Also he left long before Cassie got forced to fight. How would Kotal know where to send Erron? It seems like the other clan who came in and started slicing people up is the more likely suspect for Erron's partnership since they would have that information.

Not sure if trolling, but it wasn't really a selfie. ._.

The issue is that there is no reason to avoid mentioning it. It doesn't clarify why Erron isn't at the big battle like the rest of Kotal's men. In fact, we never see where Erron ended up. How is it so easy to assume something completely unfounded and conflicts with story flow is accurate, but something that both goes with the story flow and would further the plot is not?

Erron could have reported back to Kotal telling him he captured them just after K'Etz and the Osh-Tekk/Outworlders went out to fight Goro and the Red Dragon and before he found out his dad was dead. If he wanted Sonya to form an alliance with him he's not just going to back down when she says no is he? He's going to do whatever it takes.

Erron left long before Cassie got forced to fight? We don't even know what happens when to be fair. Kotal doesn't need to send Erron anywhere, he just needs the portal stone. He was on the other side of the portal ready for Cassie, and unexpectedly Jacqui, to be brought through.

He seemed fine to back down while she stood there with his henchman on the ground. Like when she was within stabbing distance. Also again the timing doesn't add up.

Kotal left long before the cassie fight. Also the camera is looking behind them, so no, Erron isn't in the goddamn portal for the last time. How is it so much harder to believe Erron simply has other connections? I'm actually curious as to how this is that big an issue that you can't believe one side but have no trouble assuming the other.

It doesn't have to though in the same issue, comics are an on going medium it'll be answered soon. Did you read the last issue? Sonya shot Kotal Kahn and wants to know where her daughter(cassie) is. As I said it's probably due to personal gain or leverage to try to get Earthrealm forces to aid Kotal Kahn in their civil war in OW.

I don't see any conflicts, seems pretty cut and dry to me honestly. You're not going to get every answer in one issue otherwise where's the fun in that? May as well just wait and buy the Trade once the whole thing is out in volumes...

I said it before I'll say it again Kotal sending Erron Black to kidnap Cassis make NO sense.

It'll only provoke Sonya and give more reason to stab him in the back. We all know how worried he is about Reiko and his plans and Mileena's army and you think it's smart to add ANOTHER ENEMY when he doesn't even have control of outworld yet?

Bottom line Kotal would never be able to survive fighting Sonya's forces and Mileena's and he knows that. It's much more likely Error Black is a traitor or something because this doesn't help Kotal's position at all.

I don't see Sonya being the type to be threatened into backing someone who was just begging for her help like a day ago. She'll look for the first chance and cripple him or his soldiers and that is something he cant afford while also dealing with Reiko.

Because he was trying to form an alliance, attacking her wouldn't have helped him do that obviously. First you take the ask nicely approach then if they say no take matters into your own hands. Stop talking about the timing, we don't know for sure what happened when. Unless you somehow can and we all can't in which case you're going to need to provide some solid evidence that we somehow all missed out on.

How do you know? It doesn't say. *sighs* Ever heard of continuity errors? Well yeah, this is one of them. She was taking pictures of herself yeah but how the hell is Erron supposed to appear behind her out of nowhere? It's not hard to work out that he was in the portal. What do you mean about the other connections thing?

Lets pretend for a moment that from the beginning of one issue to its end there is a huge continuity error. So lets say Erron is in the portal itself, even though he appears on a picture that is showing whats behind her. Her phone falls outside of the portal, so obviously she isn't in the portal until that point. How would all of this add up?

Its not like characters are all loyal. Reptile certainly wasn't. Why would we assume Erron is? Especially when he shows up at the same time as those other folks.

I'd say don't even bother anymore.

In the face of overwhelming evidence and logic from multiple sources, he keeps on trying to convince himself there isn't a way for the story to make sense for some reason.

At least it's keeping the thread alive I guess.

Rather than have a long discussion again I will ask Shawn Kittelsen on Twitter and he will clarify if he is on the other side of the portal or not, sound fair?

Assuming what you are saying, it's not hard to take a picture of what's in front of you before dropping your phone behind you. And what was in front of her was Erron in the portal. Easy.

Reptile wasn't loyal? To who? When? Because we can only assume Erron is loyal right now, and we could just as well assume that he's not loyal we just happen to be assuming he is loyal right now, since Erron's backstory has not been explored yet.

Well let's not just say no. He has a right to theorize, and he is theorizing about Erron Black's loyalty which we know nothing of as of yet. It's completely valid :) and about the portal thing I'm just going to ask on Twitter and let Shawn answer for us then we can move on swiftly.
