Ohio Thread - BUCKEYES BAYBEE!!!!!!!!!

North Royalton, OH here (Cleveland area). I usually just stick to the front page of TYM to check out the tech of the tourney players...but everyone I know is terrible at the game and I play online but hate it. I think I am a pretty decent player, but I am sure that no local comp and online (and just time to play in general) is probably holding me back.

Thinking that looking into local offline stuff may end up being more fun. If stuff is going down in Cleveland I would probably be down to get involved.

To all OSU students, or hell, anyone in the Columbus area. Columbus Fight Nights have moved to Momo 2, every Wednesday from 6pm-12am. So if you're looking to come out, check the local fighting game scene, and play some MK get your butts over here.

Cleveland's players gather here every other Sunday. :) I'm possibly gonna be there this week.

Also, anybody in/around the Columbiana County area? I live in Lisbon, but the only place I've found folks closeby is in Youngstown. I'm looking for something closer, though. If you are from Lisbon/Salem/Leetonia/Columbiana/Beaver/whatever, lemme know in PMs.

How the eff was this going on @ fox and hound and I not know anything about it...lol. I used to live 5 minutes from there when I was in high school.

Alright, so since fall break has begun I can actually make it to an entire Console Combat for once!

You guys play by parmatown mall? no shit! That's less than 30 minutes from my house. If there's anyone playing around thanksgiving/christmas time when I'm home from college on breaks I'll come up and meet everyone for sure. [MENTION=4]THTB[/MENTION] No age restrictions right?

Also I play on wireless 360 pad, will there be any problems with that? Are there even gonna be 360 stations there?

thats great and all but the day of the week sucks. Would love to support MK, but as of now, Wednesdays are the worst for me.

Won like...maybe 1/4 of the rounds at best. Rounds, not matches.
But that was SSFIV just before AE came out along with UMVC3.
But enough of that, I think I'll end up sticking for MK for awhile just because it's fresh.

Just curious, how does the Ohio MK scene (and also if anyone knows the fighting game scene) stack up against other states community size-wise? I would assume California at any time has the biggest fighting game scene period, but I digress.

It's not the largest...but it's better than some places for sure.

Ohio has me, King, m2dave, Master D, and Perfect Legend. I'm probably the worst of the group, and have yet to place outside of top 8 at any major I attended. So the players aren't exactly the worst, though.

I just played MK9 again for the first time in months last weekend. I managed a few wins. I'm still having desync problems online, though. Kind of converted over to UMK3, which I always liked better anyway. But now that REALLY sucks because no one plays UMK3 on PSN. I guess they gave up waiting for them to patch the fucking thing.

SO, if you ever want to offline MK2, UMK3, or MK9 and don't like way too far away, we might make that happen...as long as you aren't a rapist or murderer or something.

My UMK3 Cab is at Momo2 fyi. (your in Columbus, right?)

Yeah I heard about that place. I haven't played on a UMK3 cabinet since Bill Clinton was President. That Momo2 place is about a 30 or 45 minute drive for me, give or take traffic, but I never care about driving.

They have a Wednesday night get together, so you should check it out. I should be getting a LOT more involved being at Momo2 :)
