MK in Final Burn Alpha Request... need support from the MK Community

Ok everyone, I posted over on the official Final Burn Alpha forums after a long time of searching for it. I'm trying to get the developers to emulate the Wolf Unit Driver, which is the driver that runs the MK games, so that we may eventually see the MK games up and running in 2df/supercade.

We need to support this thread as a community... please make sure that you go there, register and post on this thread. Show the FBA Developers that we're serious about wanting to see MK emulated on Final Burn Alpha!

I posted there. Im not sure what final burn alpha is lol...but if Phil thinks its good thats good enough for me.

Everyone please take the time to make an account there, (it is instantaneous) and make a post at least.
The more players they see that want this to be done the more likely it will be done.
Def a good amount of players already, but if you haven't done this, you should.

me niether... good things to come in the future for mk: MK9 and more ways to play MK1-MK4 online than just consoles and kaillera.

Ok, we have recieved an answer. It's not what we want to hear, however, there's a little hope. I am asking that those who have posted, and those who are still planning to post, that you NOT get angry or upset with the devs of Final Burn Alpha. Doing that, or mouthing off to them will ensure that it will NEVER happen... and we don't want to lose what chance there is that they will do it.

What I am asking, however, is that if anyone has any experience with coding, developing, and working with emulators, to please consider helping them with this project.

Unfortunately, supporting Mortal Kombat and sequels in FBA is far from trivial. It requires support for several CPU cores (some of which are unlike any currently in FBA), and support for all sorts of other things such as timers and new sound cores. We're not shy of taking on big tasks but none of us are particuarly big fans of the MK series so I really wouldn't hold your breath waiting for a driver. That's not to say never - it's just very unlikely!

Any update on the thread posted on the FBA forum? I'm trying to jump on the bandwagon, but I'm a bit late, and the link in the original post seems to be broken.

Long story short, they have no interest in doing so. Big reason has to do with how fucking ridiculous the old MKs were built.
