Here is the problem I see with you thus far, you are in a forum about Mortal Kombat, a game known for its gruesome imagery and you are stating that you want the fans to demand NRS not be too gruesome and gross with making the game that many of us here absolutely love, because of the over the top violence. I'm not going to lambast you here, nor am I going to throw insults in your direction, but this is the kind of attitude I cannot stand in this world. You have a choice in this and that choice does not involve your perspective on how you WANT NRS to tone down their artistic direction, I suppose since this imagery is too disturbing for you that now horror films need to tone it down, just so people are not exposed to the twisted imagery the director puts on the screen.
Sorry, sir that is opinion, but you do have a choice! Your choice is that if you do not want to be exposed to the gruesome fatalities within the game, you can look away when someone does the fatality, not perform them yourself, or simply turn it off. You have the ability to choose what content you will consume, if you like FGs, but you are disturbed by MK's imagery, then you can go play another more less disturbing game that you can handle.
Take no offense, but your sounding very much like many of the radical Anita Sarkesion feminists out there that get angry, because they do not like that a female character is portrayed sexy in a game.
No one should ever be allowed to tell an artist that they have to censor their work just to appease a group of people that did not like their creation. An artist should always be allowed to test and push boundaries with each and every piece of work they create. How else do we discover how far the bar is to be raised and where that bar is set, unless someone crosses that boundary.
You have a choice to choose what and how you will consume content in this world, if your worried about children being exposed to such a thing, well then you as a parent cannot be concerned about what content any other children outside your own will consume and must also make the determination on how and if their child can handle said content.
The Mortal Kombat series paved the way of developers having the creative freedom they need to create what they see fit. It has always been about pushing the limits further and further every game to see how far it can be taken over the top. Many interviews with the development team have even come out to say that they hold themselves back from making something too gruesome or insane and for the most part they have made sure the gore and blood is realistic, but not too realistic to at least show that it isn't real at all and just fantasy.
Please do not take offense to what I had to say, but the attitude you are showing is our rights end where your feelings begin and sorry, but that's just not how life works!
