Was I right about Killer Frost?

With the announcement of Mortal Kombat X there is no denying that Injustice will take a backseat to it indefinitely. Not to say people don't like Injustice but similarly to Killer Instinct the game will have a presence on Test Your Might and every so often some results for it may be posted but ultimately very few people care, this same thing happened with Mortal Kombat 9.

As Injustice reaches the end of it's lifespan within 1-2 more years is it still argued that Killer Frost is a top-tier character or was I correct the entire time?

KF was never as good as proclaimed at any point. She was never #1 when said, not top 5 when said, not top 10 when said, and now she is somewhere in the middle of the cast where she belongs.

The man went overboard by saying she was "bottom 5", we all know that. But he was definitely right about her not being as good as everyone claimed throughout the entire life of the game.

LOL @ everyone claimed the entire life of the game. KF is a great character. Always has been and always will be as long as we don't see another patch. My favorite thing is people like you who generalize what the KF forums think based on what Myles's loud-mouth threads claim without even reading any discussion.

1) She was certainly top 5 when she had 50-50's off trait cancel's on block. This is literally broken tech IMO that had to be removed and keep her out of broken tier. Honestly the only thing that calmed the firestorm regarding this tech was vanilla Metropolis Rooftop.
2) After losing trait cancels and damage she remained viable and probably in a tier just outside the top 4 to 5 chars with a bunch of other characters that are around the same level. I would call this the upper mid tier. Several tiers are viable as this is not MK
3) After the patch nerfing interactables and increasing damage on MB bounce cancels, along with the Black Adam nerfs... these were seen as buffs to KF and there was talk of possibly putting her name back in the top tier discussion. My personal opinion though is again, a few S-tiers, a few high tiers, and a monster group that are all around the same level that can be grouped in upper-mid

Thus, IMO she was pretty much exactly as good as we claimed so far in the life of the game, but she was just not as good as MYLES CLAIMED that we claimed she was, which is the fallacy he enjoys using that fools most of the people on this forum including you.

I disagree. Your opinion and Miles opinion are two opposite ends of the spectrum, but the truth lies somewhere in the middle.

There were PLENTY of non KF players always claiming how great and "top 1", "top 5", "top 10" she was at different points of the game. Each time was always overstated. All of KF's claim to greatness was a list of tools in a game where other characters always had better tools and a hope for "future potential unleashed" yet she never had stronger showings than any random mid tier character. For example, at a time she was "top 5 without question, likely top 3" she wasn't doing anything at all in tournament while the actual top 3-5 were wrecking havoc. This is my point.

Only recently people as a majority have begun to call her "upper mid at best" as an absolute. I don't think she sucks, but I think she was always overrated at each point by the masses with nothing to back up WHY she was always rated so high other than "what "could" happen".

Yea we disagree. Tourney results DO have an impact because the majority of players use the best characters. You won't see more Ares players than Aquaman for a reason. MMH would never be unplayed because he's too good. A true #1. He'll be more played as the game goes not less. Where as Frost has been dropped among the most. Most of the characters considered top tier during their time either won tourneys or would have steady multiple placements consistently. Except Frost. She was "so good" for "so long" but lost "so much" in comparison to characters whose level she was supposedly on. That's why I couldn't buy into it back then.

16 Bit for example looks better with Catwoman than he ever did with Frost, but at the time he dropped her on paper it looked "bad". Now maybe he just plays better with a different character and that's fine, but I don't think if she was as good as proclaimed. No one is dropping anyone in the top 10 right now because they are an actual top 10 level crew.

I've just always heard how "great" she was for so long, and waited for so long to actually "see" her be great, but it never happened. While all the other "great" characters were, well, great. Fast forward to June 2014 and we have a "Top 15ish" type of character, which sounds about right.

This is a good point. I've always found it interesting how one man's OBVIOUSLY TROLL inspired opinions bothered so many people (even people who didn't play Frost much less know anything about her). It's because TYM suffers from the "group think" mentality and many vocal KF rep's basically campaigned that she had virtually no losing MU's and definitely up-played.

Pre-patch Killer Frost with trait cancels terrified TYM (and rightfully so) whereas post patch Killer Frost is upper mid, in the same boat and alongside a plethora of the cast. (IMO)

However, the Myles vs KF community/ Myles vs TYM is legendary.
