I've never really understood why D2's scale as much as they do in this game. Did it make more sense in Mk? I mean...in street fighter it seems like some of the best damage you can get is from antiairs and that seems by design to stress the importance of being smart about when and where you jump. Now I grant you that some characters would be even more ridiculous if they didn't nerf them to compensate (EDIT: Lol, I meant Aquaman....but Bane would probably be even more insane, lol), but given how hard it is to land a D2 with some castmembers in this game I don't see why they shouldn't get big damage off it.
d2 scaled on the ground but not in the air. I still don't understand why they did that.In MK9 d2's actually didn't scale at all. Most characters couldn't combo at all of them though, hence the common use of d1/s1 for anti airing. The characters that could manage to combo off of d2 used as much as possible in their combos for swag/damage.
I think part of the reason d2s scale in Injustice is to reign in meterless combo damage. Most characters end up using a mb special into b3 if they want big damage, if d2 didn't scale than many characters could use that instead.
