its aside from so many regionals on the ec the only major they have worth traveling to is nec and even then the quality on that one is not as high as others from whats been said.

All I want is an event in which has enough space to give all games equal space and proper stream time/ internet a nice venue with rooms that are nice with food options and shit to do outside of the tournament! It's not much and guess what people would be willing to pay extra for that

yep it was all over stream chat during sf pools. its sad how ec figures try to crap down on other scenes tourney and get others to not go when they have some of the worst tourneys to date on the ec.

Also there's something that a lot of people don't get about traveling situations, which is sponsorships.

GGA+KIT sponsors or at least partially sponsors players to travel. FRQ/Hitbox sponsored players to travel to EC and UFGT. It's not that we don't want to or feel like we don't need to travel, a lot of us just can't. The only truly sponsored (not EMP) players in our scene are the RG guys, the best of whom is still a minor whose parents probably control where he can go more than him.

The only thing that can be difficult to some extent with that is shit to do outside the tournament. Since it really depends on where it is. Like being close to airport means not much stuff to do to some extent. :/.

To be honest. If I lived in the EC and had so many tournaments, I probably wouldn't feel the need to travel as well.

same here, i'd try to go to evo and that's about it. Since the West coast has a few events only, I actually really want to travel as much as I can.

You mentioned NCR. My God you have Balls. But you only went to one east Coast event. You cannot base everything on the East Coast from one Event. That would be like me going to NCR for Injustice find out they dont have it and think that SCR is going to do the same. Even though the same TO may run an Event there is still room for change. Also i don't deny that the other events look cool. You don't think that we want to go to every event. We do. It would be awesome. But we just can't all the time. Just like other regions cannot got to all of our tournaments. So we go the events that we can that our outside of our area. If we are not able to then theres not much we can do. Also a lot of the TO's in the NE have been doing that. We asked for 3/5 and they gave us that. And they gave us more Xbox's so we can do 3/5 and have more casuals. Also How are our Tournaments Overpriced. Its the same as the others. Unless you do last minute. And our locals *The break* is only 10 Dollars. Since they are nice enough to not charge a venue fee. Something that not many places are willing to do. Its also funny how you mention NCR about NEC but then dont mention it at the end.

I'm not talking about an NCR event from the point of view of an NRS player but from just an event goer with no game in mind and it was solid obviously IGAU is not there so it looses value to me but for everyone else it's an event they look forward too! All I'm saying is that there is a hell of a lot more to an event than just enough setups like organization. UFGT had answers to every problem that could arise and had brackets on challounge For us! As far as overpriced it is when you consider what you get at an SCR/UFGT vs an NEC or WB which from what I understand are run by the same group and at the same venue.

Zyphox -- Couldn't make it, no choice.
Jupiter -- Wanted to go, wasn't allowed to go, couldn't make it, no choice.
Arma -- Wanted to go, couldn't make it, no choice.
Sonic Fox -- Scheduling + family, wanted to go but could not go.
Rev0lver -- Had a schedule conflict that was unresolvable, couldn't make it, no choice.
Tom -- Couldn't make it, no choice.

In general, whether due to age + family concerns, being able to afford gas/tolls/plane tickets/venue/hotel, being unable to get off work, or conflicts with school/family visits etc., a lot of people wanted to go and couldn't. But I didn't talk to people who were saying "I can afford to go and my schedule is open, but I'm just not going to go because who cares about UFGT".

So if that's what the rumor was, it's off base. However, I am always for getting people out to events, and people will probably tell you that I encourage or find ways to help people get to events that they might otherwise have been able to make. When people cross the borders and venture farther away, it makes for better events and more diverse competition.

Traveling to tournaments is expensive and time consuming. Broke players have all the time in the world but can't travel due to money and players with money can't travel due to time.

If I could I would make every tournament and casual gathering possible. My issue is a full time job, kick starting a small business, son, dog and girlfriend lol. It's hard.

I attended UFGT and it was fun, felt like C2E2.

The problem with EC not traveling to UFGT is the fact are two best players are under 18 lol. I could not get off work to take Jupiter to UFGT, or else he would have been there. I just can't take off whenever I feel like so I saved my days for MLG/EVO. No offense to UFGT but when requesting days off for the summer and spring I felt that MLG and EVO took priority. As for other East Coast representation I can't speak for them, but I do hope we begin to travel more.

For mk, we only went to ufgt and mlg dallas outside of the west coast (we wanted to go to others but couldn't). So yeah I can see why Jupiter and sonicfox will probably only get to come out to the west for evo and mlg, which is fine since those are 2 very solid tournaments.
