Interactables need to be disabled for tournament play

Yeah, that's a bolo setup, which I mentioned. Its just not technically a free interactible since she actually has to tag you with the bolo first whereas zod just activates trait and he gets to do whatever the hell he wants.

I've always wanted for this game to have interactables off. The game is fun(annoying) enough without them making it more so.

I personally don't even think that they were designed for competitive play in the first place which is why they have an option to turn them off.

For once PL says something good.

Ahh I apologize, I misread. But yeah that is really annoying that zod gets to do that though. Do you think when people start getting better at back dashing interactables that that will be resolved? Not sure how possible it is to back dash while getting bitch slapped all over the place. Btw someone HAS to name their wraith Solange

For anyone that doesn't know (and it seems like everyone), my monthly local in Toronto has been doing a 'no interactables' side tournament once a month in addition to the regular tournament since December. I personally prefer interactables being on but things like interactable OTGs that give a combo an extra 20% are really stupid. I wish they would patch the game and either completely remove interactable OTGs or at least reduce the extra 20% to 10% or something like that.

As far as interactables being turned off as the tournament standard goes, I don't think it would be as good/fun.

There isn't much else to say.

Characters (Martian Man Hunter) should only be getting 20% when they hit you but because of unscaled interactable damage they get 40% whenever they touch you.

This game would become much more fairer and less reliant on gimmicks such as

"Let me sit in the corner and use turbine/rockets/air robots" and easily zone you out with unblockables"

This game can be hype without the need for gimmicks. Interactables make chars who are already good a bit too good. Imagine if Zod didn't have unblockable interactables to toss at you while you are sitting there like a duck blocking swipes from his trait? Like come on son. The dumpster in the corner with Batman is about the silliest thing I have ever used or seen in a fighting game as well.

Martian getting OTG's after an interactable like come on.

Lets all make the right decision as a community this time and have them disabled at future tournaments.

I've been saying this since day one. I could not agree more. This would be what I need to get back into this game.

Oh, and Nightwing just shot up the tier list.

Now i don't think interractables are truly "broken". But imo the game is definitely alot better without them

all for getting rid of them. Would be nice if one somewhat sizable tournament would try turning them off to show everyone how good the game can be also ban aquaman

With who? The computer? That's nothing to me. I'd prefer good players showing what it's like than hitting battle mode with them turned off.

I'm willing to play an interactible-less set with someone and record it though.

Yea because background bounce adds SO MUCH DMG to someones combos. Stop it dude. Background bounce does not have to be on.

ON TOP OF THAT YOU USE AQUAMAN!

Backround bounces are HUGE for some characters. Deathstroke struggles to break 40% with meter midscreen, add a backround bounce into the equation and you're up to 48% with no meter. On top of that he gets practically nothing off of his overhead starter without a backround bounce.

So yeah, they're important for some characters.

Edit: We've got tournaments coming up, set up some exhibitions with interactibles off and record it. I'm going by an "action louder than words" mentality because if this were to get enacted at some big tournament (TFC or something) without being showcased and it ended up being terrible then the tournament is just fucked.

Joker has nasty setups with background bounces, where if you don't know how to block properly, you could lose your entire health bar.

But of course, this is Joker, so he has to earn that background bounce first

Lol @ ppl saying its too late for this, last time I checked this game still had tournament life...I agree wit honeybee I wish NRS would hot fix interactable OTGS to scale greatly on hit, or just get rid of interactble OTGS all together sure we can MBC through interactables for lesser damage, but when ur dealing with chars like sinestro, zod, or MMH it becomes irrelevant...and losing to 40% combo into another unblockable 20% OTG or jailstate interactable is just enough to make anyone be like "fk this game". But knowing this community u guys ain't tryna give the option a chance, many of u haven't even touched the option...yet ur all against it until u get hit with that stupid shit in tournament, let's see how u feel then lol.

Let's be clear here, WE as a community control what and what doesn't make it into tournament play, because we are the motherfkaz who play the shit, tournaments and TO's are nothing but organizers, so if a majority of this community says yea let's turn em off, then TO's can't complain because turning them off is not considered something that would be considered as unfair or cheating...so I don't wanna hear none of this "its too late" bullshit. I don't even know why I'm wasting my breath tho...this idea will just go in one ear and out the other...you guys don't want it turned off, and doing so will open up a whole nother Pandora box of bitching and crying.

For all the people saying it's too late for this; the problem with that is that anybody making a thread like this a year ago would get flayed alive. A huge percentage of the community was all about interactables being on and suggesting that tournaments be played with them off were met with responses like "interactables are what makes Injustice unique", "balance will be worse with interactables off", "let's wait and see how it goes", and "level up bro".
Even early in the games lifespan it didn't seem possible to have a serious discussion about turning off interactables. I think now is a good time to have it, since at this point we have a fairly solid grasp on the game and have seen what high level competitive play is like with interactables on.

And if we really want to try this, a good way to start(other than just discussing it on the forums) is to start playing some casuals with them off. I encourage everyone who's saying they'd like to see tournament play without interactables to go play some casual sets sometime this week with interactables off. If it's good it'll start to stick
